Cosy,comfortable cottage
The cottage was warm and comfortable and tastefully furnished. Despite it's proximity to the A6 it was very quiet, especially inside the property. There were no amenities close by, so it was always necessary to get in the car, but that wasn't a problem.

Thank you for booking Lily cottage and writing the review.
We think of Low Jock Scar as a special place with a very special atmosphere , surroundings and views which is 5 miles, 8 minutes easy drive from Kendal with it's good range of shops and facilities.
Lovely walks from the door. Car is extremely useful in this rural location.
Low Jock Scar enjoyed as a good quiet base for exploring the lake District.
I hope that you have plenty of happy memories.

Quiet, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location
We stayed at Lily Cottage for a week in the second week of August. Cottage ideally located for exploring the Lake District, and only 5 miles up the road from Kendal, where you can find everything you need to be self sufficient.
The cottage is well equipped, and clean and tidy. The owner Rosyln Flackett and her husband, made us feel really welcome when we arrived. The location is not far from the A6, but is still quiet enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. A river runs past the property, and the gardens are very pretty and well maintained.
Everything is provided for you. There is little or no Mobile signal here, so its great that they offer free WiFi in the properties to enable you to stay in touch with the outside world. If there was one complaint, it would be that the WiFi signal appeared to drop on a regular basis, and eventually found that if you turned wifi off and then on again, it sometimes rectified the problem. Having said that, this place was perfect for our honeymoon retreat. I liked the location as we were away from the crowds, and only a 20/30 minute drive from Windermere and the entrance to the Lakes.
Would highly recommend this location, as it was a home from home, spacious clean and tidy. If and when we return to the lakes, we would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for the review and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay.
Sorry that mobile reception is variable, unfortunately O2 is not good in the countryside here apparently better in the cities. EE, vodaphone, orange etc better. Luckily most modern mobile phones pick up the wifi. The wifi usually works, but I wish the capacity could be made higher, as during busy times especially when the school Children are using capacity the signal cuts and returns.
We pay for business broadband, much more expensive than resendential broadband and should have priority for speed etc hence much better than most in the area, usually over double the speed. Obviously we are longing for good high speed broadband to be installed. New infrastructure is being installed near to us.
We do our best to continue making improvements wherever possible.
It was lovely having you to stay.
Best wishes for a happy future for both of you. A lovely Happy Couple.

Contact & Arrival at Lilly ...
Contact to owner was fast, content precise and complete; friendly and helpful advice by owner were given;
But......
Contact to VRBO was Not possible, virtual Manager by vrbo was a Mass. VRBO service is not recommended
Well furnished, spacious accommodation in peaceful setting by river within easy reach of Kendal and the rest of the Lake District

Perfect
Stunning grounds. Lilly cottage was spotless with so many thoughtful touches that you would forget to bring were there. Wonderful place to stay apart from the dreadful weather that we had. As this is the first time that we have rented a cottage we were very apprehensive but staying in Lilly cottage has certainly given us the incentive to do it again.

Beautifully decorated comfortable cottage on the edge of The Lake District.
A warm welcome from owners Roslyn and John. We felt very well provided for. Extremely comfy bed with modern ensuite including bath and good shower. Well equipped compact kitchen. Comfortable lounge/diner. The cottage is well located on the outskirts of Kendal and the edge of the Lake District about 14 miles from Windermere.

Chill Time
Although we had booked Tulip Cottage, due to a misunderstanding we ended up with Lily Cottage. But I have to say it was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very nicely presented. The owner Ros was very friendly and helpful. I cannot find fault with anything, a lovely peaceful break in beautiful surroundings . We would love to return and this time have Tulip Cottage and its log burner.

A lovely relaxing break in stunning surroundings
We stayed in Lily cottage for 5 days. The cottage was cosy, warm and spotlessly clean. Lots of room and attention to detail such as fresh lilys in the lounge. We couldn't have wished for prettier surroundings, garden was a treat with a river and several bridges, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful break .

Fabulous location and beautifully presented cottage..
Set in its own well maintained grounds this is a beautifully presented, comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for! The owner's also live on site and were helpful and friendly. The owners had left maps and recommendations of local pubs and restaurants and, of course, the Lake District provided a fantastic back drop to a memorable holiday. Very happy to recommend the cottage and will definitely be visiting again.
