Rural cottage in Sörmland with proximity to Stockholm

This fine holiday home is a beautiful 50 m2 cottage from the beginning of the 19th century. With nature on the knot and the cozy town of Mariefred just a few km away you live rural but still have Stockholm within 1 hour drive.

The cottage has two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with bunk bed. It is also possible to set up a travel cot for infants. The kitchen is equipped with a stove with two plates and a small oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. Wood stove and a stove can be fired to increase the cozy factor during rainy days.
The bathroom has a shower, sink and wc.

There is proximity to most things in nature and culture. Royal Gripsholm's castle in picturesque Mariefred, Skåttvång's mine and Strängnäs cathedral are just a few examples. Mariefred has a good selection of shops and restaurants, cafes and guest harbor and is excellent to stroll around. There is also a jetty in the middle of town for a cool dip. The beach with sandy beach and jetties is located some km east of the city center.
Gripsholms golf club has an 18 hole course with a nice restaurant.

Hiking trails, bicycle trails and canoeing can be found in the immediate area for the nature lover. In the autumn it is fungal and wild with both elk, wild boar, deer and roe deer.

Mariefred, it’s been a wonderful place

We enjoyed our holiday. The place is nice by a good value for money. Only the gnats have been a little downer. But with a portion of anti-mosquito spray all went good. The landlords had been very friendly and always addressable. And the dry toilet (I’ve read about it.) works very well, no bad smell or any other problems. We’ve took the chance to make some day trips, for example to Stockholm, to Stendörren or to Astrid Lindgrens Värld in Vimmerby. Each of it was magnificent. In Mariefred itself is the grave of Kurt Tucholsky - a famous german author, the castle Gripsholm, nice shopping possibilities and for me one of the best ice cream parlours I’ve ever been. It’s JENNY’s on the harbour with a good view to Gripsholm. There are so many different delicious ice cream flavours, for example liquorice. I could die for it. And also they have 4 different flavours of ice cream for dogs. My dog liked liver the most.

Trevligt litet torp. På bilden i annonsen så ser det ut som att torpet är avskilt ute i skogen, men ägarna bor i hus några meter ifrån. Detta störde dock inte mig/oss. /Elizabeth

Erholsam und ruhig

Ferienhaus liegt sehr abgelegen. Ein paar wenige Häuser stehen in dem kleinen Gebiet. Leider ist es nicht ausgeschildert und auch im Navy nicht ausgewiesen. Deswegen ist es sehr schwer zu finden. Das Haus selbst ist urig eingerichtet und gemütlich. Einziges Manko, das Bad ist viel zu klein und es gab eine Trockentoilette, die aber laut Vermieter einem WC weichen soll...Wenn man nicht allzu anspruchsvoll ist, kann ich dieses empfehlen..

Schön gelegenes altes Ferienhäuschen

Das Häuschen liegt sehr schön und ruhig im Grünen und die Vermieterin hat sehr schnell und freundlich auf unsere Anfragen reagiert. Die drei Sterne haben wir wegen der alten und rustikalen Einrichtung und der sehr einfachen Sanitäranlagen (kein Wasserklosett sondern eine Art Plumpsklo für Fortgeschrittene) vergeben.

Nie wieder!

In der Anzeige stand, dass 1 Badezimmer mit Dusche, Waschbecken und Ventilator?!? vorhanden sei. Tatsache war, dass „das Badezimmer“ mit einem Plumpsklo ( ein Eimer mit Erde stand daneben!) ausgestattet war!!! Und außerdem so winzig war, dass es nicht zu benutzen war. Außerdem hat es streng gerochen! In der „Küche“ gab es 2 vollkommen verrostete Herdplatten, auf denen man kaum kochen konnte. Wir haben das Haus am nächsten Morgen wieder verlassen, obwohl wir für 3 Tage gebucht hatten. Die Beschreibung war einfach nicht korrekt und erfüllte keine normalen Standards. Wir würden nicht noch einmal ein Objekt buchen.

krot, bouwvallig, vuil en onhygiënisch

verschrikkelijk; zijn zo snel mogelijk vertrokken. nog nooit zoiets gezien. Heel het huis stinkt naar stoelgang en pipi "droge Zweedse wc" staat in het huis; lavabo waar je tanden poets staat 5 cm van toilet alles in het huis is vuil en vies, muf NOOIT GEZIEN, dat dit nog verhuurd wordt is niet normaal!!!! Zweden we daarna nog ontmoet hadden waren beschaamd dat dit in 2023 nog verhuurd werd

Schweden Ferienhaus statt Wohnmobil

Das Ferienhaus bietet ausreichend Platz für 2 Erwachsene und 1-2 Kinder (möglich). Die Lage ist Inder Nähe von Mariefred am Waldrand. Gute Ausgangslage für Stockholmbesuch (ca. 60km gut erreichbar über Autobahn). Mariefred liegt direkt am See. Es gibt einen öffentlichen Strand am Campingplatz (ca. 3km entfernt). Ein Auto ist obligatorisch, wenn man die Gegend erkunden will. Das Ferienhaus hat eine Dusche, eine offene Küche mit Wohnzimmer, 1 Schlafzimmer und ein Kinderzimmer. Ideal auch für Hundebesitzer direkt am Waldrand. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit sollte ein Problem auftreten. Wenn es regnet hat man trotzdem den Komfort eines kleinen Hauses mit Elektroheizung oder Holzofen. Wer ein Buch auf einer Sonnenliege lesen will, hat hier den richtigen Platz gefunden. Wer alternativen zum Camping sucht, hat hier das richtige Haus gefunden. Für Selbstversorger ein idealer Platz für Ruhe und Erholung.

Trevlig stuga och ännu trevligare värd

Stor gård med nära tillgång till kollektiv trafik. Stugan är förvånansvärt utrustad och har bra med utrymme. Värden var trevlig och väldigt hjälpsam. Generellt en trvlig vistelse!

Prisvänligt boende i trevlig miljö

Trevligt boende med närhet till Mariefred och olika badplatser. Stugan var helt okej och gick utmärkt att bo i ett par dagar, dock var duschen ganska trång och varmvattnet hade väldigt dåligt vattentryck. Det var förvånansvärt mygg- och knottfritt trots att stugan låg ute i skogen. Hyresvärdarna var väldigt trevliga och tillmötesgående. Kan rekommendera att hyra denna stuga.
