About the property

It sleeps 8, with three double bedrooms and one twin.

Finca Lechin is set in a stunning rural position overlooking a huge part of the valley with exquisite views in all directions.

This is a large working farm with nearly 4 acres of olive/lemon/orange groves and fig ,almond and pomegranate trees.(Guests are welcome to pick fruit in season) It sleeps 8 and has full central heating. It is a recently -built house with a central living area which has an glass-fronted wood stove,(wood provided) .It has the kitchen/dining room and utility room on one side,the living room in the middle and the bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the other. These are all on one level so there are no stairs. Attached to the dining room there is a conservatory, from which you can enjoy the stunning views all year round. The house is beautifully furnished and the wisteria-covered pergola at the rear of the house enjoys extraordinary views and has a huge Morrocan table. Beyond is the swimming pool terrace with a built-in barbecue;the pool measures 9m x 4.5m with 1.5m max depth. At the front of the villa there is also a gazebo, perfect for dining in cooler temperatures whilst enjoying the fantastic different views of the valley.

The house is approached via a quite steep track-mainly concrete-and a car of at least 1.6 litres is recommended:this of course ensures the tranquillity of the villa.The house has its own electricity generating system comprising solar power and gas generator so a few simple precautions need to be followed.

Why Ray and Valerie Wharton chose Costa Tropical and Granada Province

The climate drew us to the area in general but the Lecrin Vally is something special-truly a 'Vale of Happiness' as the Moors called it,especially in the citrus fruit season.It is very peaceful and the views are incredible,including the South West tip of the Sierra Nevada often snow-covered.The sea is only 35 mins away and skiing not much further.A special attraction is the nearby Alpuharra region 'with beautiful Moorish villages of great character'offering excellent wine,cheeses and serrano ham.(Trevelez is the highest village in Spain and the centre for ham curing.(If you have not read 'Driving Over Lemons' by Chris Stewart try to do so before you come for an insight into the area as it was and to a great extent still is).Granada of course is a wonderful town ,small enough to cover by foot.The Alhambra-Spain's most visited spot-is amazing.(Be sure to book well in advance online.) There are lots of maps and tourist information in the house.

WONDERFUL

An absolutely wonderful villa that is actually better than the photographs would have you believe. We spent a few days there with our 2 young boys and had the most wonderful relaxing time. We will definitely be returning in the summer to make use of the ample swimming pool. The villa is completely furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need and can easily sleep8 or even more. Spotlessly clean and easy to live in. Great!

The villa is located in the Lecrin Valley, known by the Moors as The Garden of Granada. It is well known for its lushness, with orange, lemon and soft fruit trees abounding, and water running freely in the ancient watercourses. The whitewashed villages retain their Moorish character, with narrow streets and many grand buildings constructed in the Mudejar style.

This beautiful valley is in a privileged position, only thirty five minutes from Granada and the Alhambra Palace, thirty five minutes from the coast (Almuñecar, Salobreña) and fifty minutes from Sierra Nevada Ski Resort. The 360degree views from the house are amazing.Peace and quiet yet only 10 minutes from the Granada-coast road. It enjoys a microclimate which softens both the summer and winter and allows year-round comfort.Finca Lechin is approached via a quite steep hill-mainly concreted-so a car of at least 1.6 litres is recommended.This of course ensures the tranquillity of the villa.The house has its own electricity generating system comprising solar power and a gas generator so a few simple precautions are necessary .Finca Lechin is surrounded by a beautiful garden set in its own olive/orange/lemon/almond orchards of nearly 4 acres/1.4 hectares.
