A lovely, well-equipped and comfortable base for our week’s stay in Dorset, with a range of dog walks from the door. The Crown Inn in the village is very welcoming and serves a good range of meals. The nearest beach is only a 5-8 minute drive away, with cafe, parking and a National Trust car park. Abbotsbury is also about the same distance. There’s good access to bus services along the coast in both directions from Burton Bradstock. For shopping, it’s a short drive into Bridport.
Owner on site was always ready to sort out any problem (not that there were any) met us on arrival and checked all was OK with our stay on leaving.

Perfect location for our stay with some nice walks to the beach
It was a little void of things, but this was to help keep everyone safe due to Covid. Otherwise it was a cosy, comfortable and clean property.

Cottage was fantastic.
Cottage was fantastic. Very spacious and comfortable. The owners have given a lot of thought to provide everything you could need to enjoy your stay. It's near to A35 and coast Road so perfect location for exploring the area. Plenty of enclosed areas for dogs to run and play. Would certainly recommend a stay and we hope to return.

Ours was a party of three senior citizens. We found that the cottage was very well equipped and was clean and tidy. The local inn, the Crown, serves good food and we would recommend a visit there. Puncknowle is rather remote, but there are many beaches within a thirty minute drive and Abbotsbury Swannery is really interesting. Try to be there at noon when the swans are fed. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and can recommend this cottage.

This was a lovely place to relax, the initial meeting with the owner was friendly and made us welcome. The fifth bed as pictured has much more room than it appears to in the picture. It is in a very quiet, pleasant village, if you have dogs to walk take a head torch as there are no pavements and typically for local villages not many street lights, there are good cross country dog walks very close (across the road) it is a good walk to the beach but would be a steep walk back for some. There are some fantastic places to visit with old fashioned beaches. Charmouth, etc. If it is your thing, the Devon and Dorsets museum in Dorchester is a must visit. Don't bother with the Dinosaur museum though, not good value and very tired. I would stay at the cottage again.

2 Sawmill Cottages was a home from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
2 Sawmill Cottages was a home from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It had everything we needed and more. We were sorry to leave and will certainly be back. Alan is a gentleman and on hand if you need anything - which you won't, believe me. The location is wonderful and there are a few walks from the door if you have a dog. Bridport is just down the road if you need supplies. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try "The Crown" but will do the next time. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough, we loved it. Thanks Alan, see you sometime next year.
