Beautiful Location, Wonderful Host

This quiet, beautiful location was the perfect place for our family holiday get together. It was peaceful and had everything we needed during our stay. Mark was excellent at communicating and immediately took care of any needs we had. We highly recommend him as a host and a stay at his home.

Wonderful spacious & private

Family Birthday Reunion

It was a great place to be together as a family. It is a distance to even get to a grocery but we came prepared and enjoyed the quiet , the lawn, and the fishing pond. The house was very well stocked so we didn’t have to worry about trips to pick up things.

Senior family reunion

Loved the secluded & quite location. Enjoyed the fishing & the fire pit. Perfect for our family as we just wanted to have family meals together & visit as we had family members from ny,ken,fl & Ind. probably last time together as we are senior seniors. Kitchen & laundry stocked for our convenience. Wonderful!!!!

Beautiful and secluded

The property is beautiful and has great outdoor spaces including the back porch, fishing dock and fire pit. The house has plenty of room for dining and lounging incase the weather is too bad to enjoy the outside. We especially enjoyed the sunroom off of the master suite. The owners are very nice and respond quickly if needed. The property is located about 30 minutes from Madison and 15 minutes from Vevay.

Nothing but peace and quiet!!

This property was exactly what this mom of overtime needed. It was a great mutually meeting for grandma to met us and for us to gallivant every where. The peace and quiet of nature was perfect. No street noise and hardly any neighbors except cows! Will want to come back next year.

Beautiful Getaway

This place was so roomy, but still felt cozy and comfortable. The house was true to its pictures, with well kept furnishings and very clean. We especially appreciated the kitchen. We like to cook and the appliances and cookware were top-notch. We visited mid-June and saw an abundance of wildlife. Deer, many varieties of birds; including an assortment of woodpeckers and wild turkeys from the deck. Many kinds of beautiful dragonflies and a multitude of dime sized baby frogs and toads in the grass. We were comfortable while still being able to enjoy so much nature and tranquility. Thank You.

July 4th Family Trip 2023

This was a nice get away with our kids and some of their friends. The house was the perfect size for our 8 people and 2 dogs. Everthing was clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the ac worked great.We enjoyed walks down the country road and putting puzzles together. Absolutely loved the sunroom! The few downsides were the ramp to the pond was a bit precarious because the water was low and you could sometimes hear the neighbor's music. Other than that is was great! Mark was very quick to answer any questions I had. I would highly recommend this property and we would defini2tely return!

Nice Surprise

If you want a place to kick back and relax with friends or family and enjoy each other‘s company and mother nature, this is the place. Spent a few days with three of my lifelong friends that we have been doing for several years, and I think we found the place that we will be going back to for the years to come. It was a unexpected surprise to see ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and some of the common areas and a huge mechanical awning for the back deck. With 90° days during our stay, it was a lifesaver, . Mark was very responsive and accommodating before and during our stay with any questions that we had about the property and very nice to work with. For us, this place checked all the boxes that we have been looking for in a property to get together and catch up. We will definitely be going back.

Labor Day Weekend 2023

You will not be dissapointed! The property and owners Mark and Janet were great! We arrived a little ahead of schedule and were allowed an early check in. Mark's brother was there doing some yard work and we chatted with him for a while and learned a little more about the area. The house was perfect for our group of 9 motorcycle riders. The drivieway and parking area was huge for us to park our trucks and trailers. The pond which does have fish for catch and release was beautiful to sit in the gazebo and enjoy. We enjoyed taking walks around the property, there is a nice firepit area which we didnt use since it was so hot out. The deck is huge with a couple of nice grills for cooking. The house has everything you need for the comforts of home.

Thank you Mark for a wonderful place to spend our annual sister-in-law weekend! We had a great time! We spent some time in Madison sightseeing and shopping, and enjoyed coming back this this quiet setting and relaxing. It was a chilly weekend so we didn't spend any time outside, but would have loved to! It is a beautiful setting among the trees and would have loved to sit by the pond. The house had plenty of room for us and was very comfortable. Everything we needed was available! We will be coming back and bring our husbands for a long weekend in warmer weather so we can enjoy the outside area! Thanks again for offering this beautiful setting away from all the noise to give us a place to relax and reconnect with each other. It is truly a "secluded county home" and the "historic Hoosier Hills" are beautiful. Don't miss out this place to stay and all the history that goes along with the area.

Get off the grid...in a good way!

Cozy home in the country with a pond for swimming/fishing and a fire pit for hot dogs and s'mores. Our family was looking for a few days away and this house was exactly what we needed. Sitting on the back porch each morning was relaxing and you never knew what wildlife you would see. The pond was refreshing and deep, so make sure you have some kind of flotation so you can rest without needing to climb out. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bathrooms had shampoo, body wash and lots of fluffy towels, and the laundry room had plenty of detergent. The house does have WiFi in case you can't completely unplug and satellite TV for relaxing in the evenings. There are restaurants and grocery stores 15-20 min away if you need to restock. The property is private, but there are other homes nearby. Mark was wonderful to work with and very responsive to all of my questions. Thank you for a wonderful way to recharge!

Peaceful privacy in a beautiful setting

This rental property was more than adequate for our family's needs. It is as attractive as pictured, and in actuality, more spacious than expected. We particularly appreciated the setup of the master bedroom and large bath being on the opposite end of the house from the other 3 bedrooms where our kids slept. The kitchen was roomy enough to have multiple people helping with meals. If the weather would have been warmer, I would've enjoyed early morning privacy sipping coffee on the back deck overlooking the woods. We didn't take time to sit out by the pond, but it was a beautiful setting. The house was spotless and well-organized; no complaints there. We appreciated the chance to spend uninterrupted time with our family, celebrating a birthday, and being totally relaxed watching movies on the new large screen tv. Mark was very attentive to our needs when we had some difficulty with the dvd player, and took care of things. We had a very positive experience at this rental.

A Peaceful Country Getaway

This year I wanted to get away and unwind with my pets for my birthday. It ended up being a time of travel after just losing a close loved one as well. Getting out to the country was so good for the soul. My fur babes were able to stretch their legs. We thoroughly enjoyed the land, from the peaceful back deck to the spacious yard, and of course the pond. Mark was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. The pictures are accurate. It really is out in the country as said, so be prepared to drive a little for groceries, etc. The garage is used by others (hunters’ equipment). Hearing about hunting was something my veg self had to get used to out there. ;) If you are looking to get away to relax, unwind, and leave the daily hustle and bustle of the city behind you, I would highly suggest renting this property. I don’t know the last time I enjoyed reading a book so much, be it out on the small deck by the pond or in the large master bath soaking tub. Do your peace of mind a favor and head to Vevay.

Janet and I are both retired living full time in Kernersville, NC. We both grew up and raised our family in Indiana. Janet is from Corydon, Indiana and graduated from Evansville University. I grew up in Versailles, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University. In 1996 my company transferred me to North Carolina. We love living in North Carolina but still have family in Indiana. I love hunting and fishing and am an avid runner. I run the Indy Mini every year. My brother owns 180 acres attached to our property. He has a nice cabin on the far side of our property about a mile away.
This is also his 'get away' property. His permanent home is in Versailles and I have a sister that lives about 10 minutes away in Cross Plains.
We were fortunate to find such a beautiful property in an ideal location to relax and enjoy outdoors. My wife loves to read a good book and finds the property perfect for tranquility.
We have two grown daughters married with two children each. They also love to visit the home. It is great for the grandkids as they love to roam the outdoors and fish. The photo is one with my oldest daughter, son-in-law with friends. We comfortably stayed at the home sleeping 6 adults and 6 children.
We visit the home about 3 months through out year.

This property is most valuable to us because of its setting. It is surrounded by woods and sits a good distance from the road. The road deadends less than a mile past our house and traffic is very limited with just a few homes past our property. It is very private and quiet. It is not uncommon to see wild turkey or deer crossing the yard not to mention the squirrels and rabbits. The house is fully furnished with linens for bath and beds and the kitchen is furnished with everything you should need. The outdoor fire pit is popular to fire up late in the evening and perhaps make s'mores for everyone. The 50 foot deck in the back provides a scenic view of the lake and forest. Includes a gas grill and gas cooker. A lighted dock next to the lake is also enjoyable in the late evening to enjoy a nice beverage and conversation with family and friends.
It is in the country and very secluded but near enough small towns and villages for getting essential groceries. It is near historic towns to visit. Vevay and Madison.
In the winter months a wood pellet stove provides plenty of heat for the home and displays a beautiful flame.
Free wifi and cable tv is provided.

Although it sits in a very country setting it is not far from Louisville, Lexington, Ky, Cincinnati Oh, Madison, Vevay, Lawerenceburg, Aurora, and Versailles, Indiana.
The Kentucky Speedway, Belterra Casino and Resort and Vevay are less than 30 minutes drive. Nascar has a cup race every July. There are nice shows at Belerra Resort along with golf courses. Vevay and Madison have nice historical museums and wineries to visit. Vevay has a wine festival every August. The Creation Museum and Ark Museum are less than a one hour.
