3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom recently remodeled 1946 bungalow
We’re so glad you’re considering Bungalow ’46 for your stay in Walla Walla! Our house was built in 1946 and has been lovingly restored – there are several features that make this a very special Walla Walla bungalow including: beautiful coved ceilings, Moroccan-inspired arches, the Arts & Crafts fireplace floor tile, glass-block windows, and the corner hutches in the dining room. Additionally, we hope you enjoy both the covered back porch just off the living room, and the larger patio and fully-fenced, private backyard.
Bungalow ’46 will accommodate up to 6 people. You’ll find 3 queen bedrooms and 2 ½ baths; each bedroom has a mattress selected for its luxury and comfort. Two bedrooms are on the main floor and share a bath (with a tub and separate shower); the third bedroom/bath suite is on the lower level just off of the family room. Our home has a gas furnace, air conditioning, and two hot water tanks, a gas fireplace and fully-stocked kitchen, plus a BBQ on the back patio and a wine bar in our Lounge. We also have a washer and dryer in the lower-level laundry room.
PLEASE NOTE: Per city code, we do not allow motor homes to park in the driveway or on the street.

About Janet and John Gifford
Many years ago, Bungalow ‘46 was our home in Walla Walla. Our family (including 5 boys) loved this house; we all have very special memories of our time here. After being away for 20 years, we were able to again purchase this charming little house and complete an extensive rehab in the spring/summer of 2016. We’ve furnished Bungalow ’46 with comfort in mind, and we’ve added personal touches that have special meaning to us. We hope your vacation here will create memories too— and that you’ll be able to come back again soon!

What makes this House unique
From the first time we walked into Bungalow '46 back in 1994, we knew this home was something really special. Built in 1946 by a local craftsman, it had a charm that you don't find very often. This little house gave off a vibe that our entire family caught right away and we fell in love. A little splash of arts and crafts, a whole lot of personality ... we knew immediately that this was the house for us! Eventually we moved to Seattle, WA, but we always knew that if the opportunity presented itself, we wanted to get our little house back someday - so we always kept our eye on it whenever we visited Walla Walla. Recently, the timing was perfect and we bought our house back, and then spent several months doing an extensive rehab. What you see now is an updated version of the house we adored ... but with all the upgrades and updates that we couldn't afford to do the first time around. We couldn't be happier to own this house again, and we hope you feel the same kind of vibe when you walk in the door that we felt more than 20 years ago!

Great location, WOW comfy beds!
We were here on a reunion of sorts and Janet's home could not have been more perfect, giving us plenty of places to gather in comfy public rooms and lovely outdoor courtyard w/fireplace! It was just the right size for 6 travelers. And our bed was a virtual cloud of comfort...so appreciated after a long day and a long drive. The final touch was Janet's gracious handling of an item we mistakenly left. All in all a beautiful spot...highly recommended!
Cozy little nest !
Two of our party had never been to Walla2 and loved the beautiful older homes! Our stay was like coming home! Close to town, nice neighborhood walks, quiet and comfortable..! Thank you!
House was perfect for us. Good location and nicely equipped. Home is centrally located so was easy wherever we went. Home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We would stay here again for future visits.
Excellent hidden gem of a place
Really enjoyed our stay and the home owners were easy to work with. Loved the charm and updates in the house. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Loved our stay - the home was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Convenient location. Owners were very responsive and informative both during the initial booking process and throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect home base for a Walla Walla weekend
This house is so cute, and is much larger inside than it appears from the street. We were 3 women but you could have easily have accomodated 3 couples, or maybe even more--tons of room in the basement area. Everything is freshly remodeled and very clean. Hosts were great about providing information and left us a lovely bottle of wine:) Pioneer Park is just a half mile away so it's an easy place to run or walk. We had a blast in Walla Walla!
Whether you're a history buff, wine enthusiast, outdoor lover or a foodie, Walla Walla is a perfect place to enjoy them all.
