Pound Hill Cottage - escapade tranquille à la campagne

Pound Hill Cottage est situé dans un aspect champêtre relaxant à seulement 15 minutes de Ballarat CDB et 7 minutes de Wendouree, ce qui en fait l'endroit idéal pour séjourner lors de la visite du festival Ballarat Begonia, du Wendouree Performing Arts Center, des jours de course au Ballarat Dowling Forest Race Course ou les compétitions de South Street.
Pound Hill Cottage dispose de 3 chambres, dont un confortable lit queen-size dans une chambre et 2 lits simples dans les deux autres chambres. Un port un lit bébé est également disponible sur demande sans frais supplémentaires.

Beautiful and tranquil property that had the feel of seclusion but only 10 minutes from the Ballarat hub. Clean and cosy, we loved our evenings by the fire with games, or books from the share library. The full kitchen let us prepare meals with ease, or duck into town for a meal. Our time was focused on active sports, so settling into the property in between games was just the right fit for some quiet relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful Stay

We stayed here to get ready at on the morning of my wedding and it was just beautiful. It was warm and cozy during Ballarat winter season and the photos turned out to be absolutely stunning in the cute country cottage setting. Amazing stay and great communication from Kylie. We had a lovely time in this comfortable and cosy cottage. It was a great place for a winter getaway! The kids had a great time, so much to do in Ballarat. The cottage was easy to find and easy to get to all the places that we wanted to visit!

Unfortunately the oven did not work, we had to change the gas bottle as the oven was out of gas and then the grill worked but not the oven. Was a little disappointing as we had taken breakfast to cook. Also noted, we were charged extra for 2 additional guests but there was only a small milk - certainly not enough for 4 adults for 2 nights. These are little things overall but did reduce the star rating for us. The communication re check in was great, very clean, the home lovely and quiet. Overall a good stay.

Hi Tracey Thanks for your feedback. We are always happy to hear from guests on how we can further improve their stay. As mentioned in the welcome message we live on the same property and are always available to assist guests during their stay if they reach out to us. It was unfortunate that the gas bottle needed to be swapped over during your stay. As we are a country property we don’t have mains connection and once every 5or 6 months the gas bottle needs swapping over. Fortunately it’s an extremely easy and quick process and just a matter of moving a lever from one bottle to the next. A quirk of staying in the beautiful countryside. I’m unsure you why you experienced troubles with the oven after this process. I have personally tested the oven and it is working fine. The oven ignition button was in great working order too. I cannot understand why it didn’t work for you other than maybe you didn’t use the ignition button to light it or wait for the gas to move through the pipe after the bottle change?? The 200mls of milk provided is complementary and provided to accompany the free tea and coffee that is provided to guests. It is for use in tea and coffee and if further milk is required then we suggest that the local IGA (3kms away) is a great resource to use. The extra guest fee is for the laundering costs associated with the extra sheets, doona covers and towels used by each guests. Laundry costs are expensive and the extra fee only just covers this cost. Thanks Kylie

Quiet, could hear the wrens singing outside. Well appointed kitchen. Cold weekend so we used the wood heater (easy to lite and kept the room warm). Comfy beds. Nice bathroom with a walk in shower.

Beautiful and quiet home with spectacular views

Perfect cottage stay

We loved our stay at Pound Hill Cottage. It was amazingly clean and cosy. It had the perfect bedroom set up for our family. The kids loved staying there, as did we. Being just out of the town centre of Ballarat made for a quiet stay. The drive back into the town centre was quick and easy. We would definitely stay here again.

A perfect getaway with two small children. We'll be back once the weather is nicer.

A clean and beautiful secluded cottage. Felt like a real escape and even though it largely rained, the cottage was perfect: clean, well equipped, large enough for a family of 4 and the kids loved the little touches, like the drawing table, pencils and colouring books. We'll be back when the weather dries up a little so that we can explore the surrounding farmland.

Lovely cottage
