What a lovely place, perfect location and the place had so much character! We were sick of staying at the same modern looking homes, so to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday, we whisked her away to this amazing retro wonderland!! We will never forget the night we had, such a unique experience Monica, the host, was absolutely lovely, we had an awesome chat with her, she made us feel right at home and showed us how to use everything before she left 10/10 definitely coming back in the future!

It was exactly as it was pictured and described & so much more the pool area was a beautiful place to relax and the quirkiness of the properly was so interesting & it’s walking distance to every thing you need & the beach 😊 we will stay again

This place is unique! When you love the 50's/60's, this is the place to stay! Monica is also a really nice, welcoming host. We had a nice time hear, few minutes walk from the beach.

Host claimed she didn’t know we were booked in. The house was in disarray when we arrived. Monica was very apologetic and prompt in going to house after photos were sent. She changed sheets and tidied/cleaned to a great standard. The bed in the 3rd room needs to be replaced as is very hard and uncomfortable. It’s a very quirky house. Little touches in the bathroom, a few condiments in the kitchen were appreciated although not used. A bottle of wine was left for us because of the misunderstanding and an offer of a refund (did not accept). House needs a good overhaul.

 the decor is quite quirky. The owner was very helpful and communicated very well, she helped with a couple of queries and very accepting of last minute dog to stay. Great location.

This house is definitely one out of the box.. quirky, retro, amusing, intriguing.. loved it. From the beautiful lights around the pool at night to the flash back 60’s furniture and decor. The bed was comfortable and bathroom clean and tidy. Host was very pleasant and was at the ready to help. Everything you needed was close by , beach, shops restaurants. Recommended

We loved it! Spacious, unique with plenty of treasures and garden nooks. Monica has thought of everything, a real home away from home. Beach bliss is right, even my dog, with lots of beach walks with the beach being so close. Highly recommend. We will be back. Thanks.

Quirky Beach Stay

Property was very comfortable for 5 adults. Decor eclectic and very interesting! There were nice retro touches throughout. Beds comfortable, and host very friendly, helpful and approachable. Perfectly located for our purpose.Close to amenities. Upstairs bedroom is great but compromised by the spiral staircase. Bathroom downstairs.

This is a fun, quirky property. Lots of colour, hand paintings and crafts. But all facilities are functional and more than comfortable. We had some minor logistical issues but the landlord resolved them quickly, so all good. A bit far from the city, but a great place for a getaway.

Visual Feast

From the moment you walk in the door there is a visual feast. Quirky and retro. Monica is friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the outdoor seating area in the evening and morning where you are protected by the shade and can watch the world go by. Everything you need is here. 2 min walk to the beach and main thoroughfare. Absolutely silent at night and the beds are so comfy. We’ll be back!!

Terrible experience very dirty, bug's in couch, sadistic ornament against Jesus Christ and on Top of that found a used needle in room where 9 yr old was going to sleep in, never again.

Honestly cannot recommend

We really wanted to love this, but although we love the neighbourhood, and the eclectic nature of the property, the house did not feel clean or safe and did not match the description. Apart from a musty smell throughout, one of the kitchen cabinets was full of rubbish. The pool was full of leaves. One of the beds had a rusty screw on it. The upstairs balcony door opened directly onto a rooftop with no railing. The owner responded slowly, and would not assist us in cancelling the booking, or respond realistically to our complaints (eg the door to the roof could be locked if we wanted - however we wanted airflow as the property was very musty). We elected to stay elsewhere and would strongly advise all others to do the same.

Just what we wanted - close to everything-beach, cafe, shops and an easy drive to wherever. Fantastic decor and set up like “our” home. Monica is the best host ever!

My friend & I enjoyed a comfortable, easy stay. Great location for wandering around the Semaphore area. Monica was welcoming, friendly & very helpful. A house full of wonderful artwork & things to catch the eye. The hot water bottles provided were very welcome on a cold weekend.

Just stayed here for two nights, myself and other friends couldn’t have picked a better place and loved everything about it! Each room was awesome to look at and the outside area was perfect to chill by, Monica ensured our stay was perfect and went out of her way to help, will definitely be coming back, thank you😃
