Oceanfront, Centrally Located in Beach Haven

Bedrooms 5
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Oceanfront House, Private Beach Entrance, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Our home is right on the beach, near the lifeguard stand. The surfing beach is on this beach. There is room to park 2 cars. There is a large deck on the ocean side of the house with a sitting area near the dunes. From there a private walkway takes you over the dunes and to the beach. Rooftop deck offers ocean views over the dunes and a back porch and deck offer sunset views. There is a brick patio in the back with a table and chairs, in the shade of the pine trees. Gas grill is out here for shaded afternoon grilling. The house is set back, away from the street, allowing more privacy.

Modern kitchen with granite, stainless steel, kitchen island has ample cooking tools for your meals. Dining room table can be made to seat 10 plus kitchen counter seats 3 more.

There are windows on all sides, encouraging breezes to keep you cool, but of course there is central AC too. There are ceiling fans in most rooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, the other 3 are upstairs. There is a family room on the second floor, with a door to small deck and access to stairs to a roof deck.

Al the attractions of Beach Haven are nearby. Fantasy Island amusement park, Bay Village, Thundering Surf water-slide, and Schooner's Wharf shopping are all within blocks. You can get any closer to these attractions and still be oceanfront - unless you are our neighbors and they don't rent!

We rent Friday to Friday, so you can have a full weekend to enjoy, and share with your friends, if you are so inclined.

About Weber Family

I am Laura Weber, I have enjoyed vacationing in this house with my family since 1974. My mother bought it when my three children were small. The children grew up; now there are five grandchildren who also enjoy the house. In 2008 we decided to remodel and enlarge the house. This project took longer than anticipated, but we are thrilled with the results. We find the home very comfortable and have been enjoying it since September 2008. We now can use it year round, and we do.

Weber Family purchased this house in 1974

Why Weber Family chose Long Beach Island

Our house is within a three hour drive from our home in North Jersey. The town is family friendly and there are activities for all ages. If you are familiar with Beach Haven you will know you could not be closer to the shopping of Bay Village, the Waterslide, the Settler's Mill mini golf course, and Fantasy Island Amusement Park while still being oceanfront. The views of the ocean are lovely and peaceful, and the beach is easily accessible. We enjoy bike riding and walking safely on the local streets.

What makes this house unique

We can enjoy views of the ocean from upstairs bedrooms(even sitting in bed) and the roof deck. There is a special sitting area built into the dunes and a private path to the beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have visited several times, we especially enjoy the sitting are in the dunes. Being so close to the beach we walk often, especially in the colder months. Bill runs on the beach every day he is here.

We walk to town, we do enjoy shopping.

The comfort and coziness of the home bring us back again and again.

In the cool weather, the fireplace is most enjoyable.

Oceanfront of course but you could not be closer to the Thundering Surf water-park, shopping at Bay Village and Schooner's Wharf in Beach Haven. Fantasy Island Amusement Park is an additional 1 block away on the Boulevard. Surflight Theater, LBI Museum, Maritime Museum are more like ten blocks away if that is your speed. Supermarket, Night Clubs and the Black Whale are also ten blocks away.

We LOVE this property and just returned from our 4th stay in this lovely home. The kitchen is well pointed and the rooms and bathrooms are roomy and clean. The location can't be beat! We parked our car for the week and either biked or walked all around town. It is in walking distance to Fantasy Island, mini golf, the water park, ice cream and fudge shops and more! The new addition of a private path to the beach is great especially for our kids who were able to go back to the house from the beach on their own. We can't recommend this place enough and look forward to returning next summer!

Had a wonderful time this past weekend. House was roomy, updated and tastefully furnished.

Kitchen was great for cooking with friends. We loved the little deck on the dunes (there is also a large rear deck).

The bathrooms were clean and roomy. Great house all around-highly recommend!

Winter fet away

  • 5 of 5

We came down for a weekend stay to end the Christmas holiday season and loved every minute of our time here. The house is extremely comfortable for one or multiple families as there is lots of space, spacious bedrooms, great home entertainment and lots to do outside. We had a beautiful star lit night that was great for star gazing. Being a birder I had a great day, starting at the Holgate section of the Forsthye NWR, a ten minute drive down to the bottom of the island, we had incredible views of Long Tail Ducks, Snowy Owls, Peregrine Falcons and lots more. Headed up to Barnegat Light House in the afternoon, kids climbed to the top of the lighthouse while adults went out to the end of the jetty for fantastic looks at Harlequin Ducks, Common Eiders and all three Scooters. Finished the day with Short Eared Owls and a great dinner at a local tavern. Next day was cycling and a hike before heading home. For families looking for home comfort and great outdoor activities to adult groups who are birders, kayakers, or almost any outdoor lover this is the place. Birding is really great in the winter and fall for waterfowl, raptors, owls and other northern migrants and then again in the spring and summer for nesting species. We'll be back soon.

Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We LOVE this house! It is beautiful inside, from the gorgeous wood floors to the extremely well equipped granite & stainless kitchen, beautiful tile baths and very generous sized bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms face the beach! It is walking distance from so many activities, mini golf, water park, shopping and many restaurants, yet it is so peaceful and quiet in the home, just can't say enough. I can't wait to go again!!

Good, but not great

  • 3 of 5

Location is great!, house is OK.Ceilings are low, my husband is 6"3", and had to put a chair in the middle of the main room to remind him not to walk there because the ceilings, with the ceiling fans, would give him a hematoma every time he walked through. There is no " master suite", any of the queen bedrooms had to share a bathroom. House is not Reverse living, so you can't really see theocean from the first floor. Deck is ok, but cant see the beach form the deck, only the ocean many miles out and very small There is no area from the upstairs deck to see the beach unless you stand up. Awkward. They try but we definitely do not think it's worth the $7000. our opinion. wont be seeing us next year. We've been renting on LBI for 20 years, and have definitely rented better, for less.

Owner's Response: The ceilings are 7 feet 3 inches tall on the first floor; standard for 1960's construction. When we renovated in 2008 we would have loved to have raised them but the town would not let us. There are limits to what you can do to an existing oceanfront home, even more limits on us since our house is closer to the ocean than any of our neighbors. Ceiling fans provide comfort that most renters appreciate. Ceilings are higher on 2nd floor. We do not claim that there is a master suite nor is it implied anywhere on the site. Nor do we claim this to be reverse living. A quick look at the pictures shows living, dining, kitchen all on first floor. But much of the ocean can be seen from first floor. Old deck was washed away by Sandy. The town bulldozed up new dunes that are a bit closer to the house and the brand new deck, therefore harder to see all of dry beach area. But plenty of ocean can be seen from first floor. The sitting area in the dunes was where the best views were. Look for that to return eventually. It is true you can't see the ocean from the rooftop deck unless you stand up. If you could see it sitting down…there would be no railing…not legal. Pictures clearly show house from oceanside and no rooftop deck is visible. The rooftop deck faces west - think sunsets! See pictures on the site and read the captions! It's pretty clear what we are offering.
