Want to bring your boat? - public ramp is two blocks away at 13th Street. Updated kitchen with marble counter tops includes DW, MW, a Keurig and standard coffee maker and a LINENS ARE INCLUDED IN PRIME SEASON (JUNE 7-AUGUST 2- WEEKS ONLY- FULL PRICE)W/D also INCREDIBLE VIEWS!!!! NO SMOKING and NO PETS! Saturday to Saturday rental.
Emerald Isle, NC was voted by USA Today as the #1 Beach in North Carolina. Come see why!!! Emerald Isle offers Family fun for everyone....with bike and jogging trails that run parallel to Emerald Dr, miniature golf, go carts, water slide, great shopping in Emerald Plantation, movie theater, restaurants that include everything from pizza to burgers to Seafood. The Bogue Inlet Pier is a must see to find out what the "catch of the day" is. If you just need to relax, pull up a chair and enjoy the ocean waves while reading a good book. We've got you covered. The property was great. Location was perfect. The short walk to the beach was the best. There are some maintenance issues and the cleaning service could do a better job. Would definitely go back.

Vacation rental King of the Sea

Property clean, nice porch, easy access to beach. Nice large table for meals. Broken screen door only issue.

What a view!

A few short steps to the ocean, literally. We had a great time. Great family room. Plenty of sleeping accommodations. Well stocked kitchen. Perfectly tailored to our needs for a family beach week.

Great spot for relaxing

This property was perfect for our family of five. Being oceanfront made nap time so much easier and gave us a chance to enjoy the beach instead of being nap-trapped in a hotel room. A quick drive into Emerald Isle gave us easy access to anything we needed or wanted to do, while also giving us a quiet spot to relax. The house is older but clean and a great size.

Great little place

This was a nice stay with simple accommodations and made for a nice beach vacation for our family. The place wasn't in perfect shape, the windows in the master bedroom did not open and the sliding glass door in there opened with effort but did not have a lock on it, old soap from the previous guest was sitting in the soap dish. Aside from minor details it was a nice place with great beach access in a nice quiet part of the island.

It was nice but it wasnt the cleanest. The bathroomlights have dust all over them. Doors where very difficult to oper. Could have defently used domeone to wd40 the place. Water was off in masterbath, when we turned it on it squeeled a lot. The description said ice machine and we had a couple ice trays. Wall stuff in the bath room was broken

Love OBK

We enjoyed our stay. Check in was a breeze. The unit was fairly clean. There were lipstick kiss marks on the mirror which let us know it hadn't been cleaned super good. However that didn't bother us. The biggest concern was the fact the we killed a few roaches. The property manager was quick to respond when we messaged them about the situation tho. We were super thankful for that. Over all we were pleased with our stay. We will definitely consider renting the same unit again.

Loved this cozy beach

The location of the beach house was perfect. You literally walk off the back steps on to the beach, perfect for families with children. The back deck size is great for hanging out, and the out side shower was awesome for cleaning off. I will say the only thing that bothered me personally was that it wasn’t very clean when we arrived. The bathrooms sinks still had debris on them, and the comforts smelt musty. The top of the trash can had food build up on it, and the floors do not look like the had been mopped. I recommend bringing your cleaning supplies if you are OCD like myself. Also, the sliding door in the master was very difficult and does not work well. Overall a wonderful stay I would rent again.

Dirty, not accurate.

Location is excellent. With just a little effort the place would be lovely. This place was not clean. There was animal feces under the bed. The walls in the master bedroom are warped and paint peeling. Carpets are stained. Paint on doors to bathroom and bedrooms peeling. Several doors do not close proper. The floors are warped and uneven. Heavy layer of dust on the lights, shelving, and ceiling fan. Amazing location. That is it.

Jayson thank you for your review. I want to first apologize for the issues you encountered during your vacation. We have spoken with the cleaners about dusting off the lights and ceiling fans when they clean the unit between renters. The owners address issues in the off season that can not be handled between renters so I have made a list of your concerns for them. The home is not pet friendly so I am not sure why there would be any issues with that other than someone brought a pet and shouldn't have. Again, I apologize and am glad you enjoyed the easy access to the beach from the home.

Needs maintenance

It looked as if it had been neglected. Weeds were taller than the entrance steps. The shower curtain for the tub was pretty crusted. The storm door handle deck side did not work to re-enter. It looked like sand had been purposely swept under the rug. One bedroom door had to be opened by leaning a shoulder into it. The deck and access to the beach were great. I don’t need a fancy beach house, but for the money I do expect clean - that means vents as well - and maintained property. I’m sorry to say we will not be renting this property again

Prime location!

My family and I had our first family vacation in many years at this beachfront property. The location was prime and being steps away from the beach made going back and forth with a 1 year old so much easier. The amenities were great and the kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking needs! We had a great week being so close to the water and enjoyed every morning drinking coffee on the porch. The only downside was the condition of the property. Upon arrival, we found the comforters very stained and the floors covered in sand(Obviously I know we were steps from sand but a good sweep and mop would have made it more welcoming upon entering), and the grass so grown up that we had to push tall weeds out of the way to make a safe walk way to the beach for the kids. Great experience and we very much enjoyed the house and appreciate the owners sharing it with us but I would suggest having a talk with the lawn care and cleaning crews! Overall, we enjoyed our week spending much needed catch up time with family and would rent again if a few things were straightened up!

King of the Sea

The property was in a great location and the kids enjoyed staying here. Check-in with property manager was easy. Once we got to the house it wasn't that clean. My sister and I ended up cleaning the house. The property manager did send over an employee to help us due to the cleaning company couldn't come back out. It was disappointing to know that they don't wash the comforters especially with COVID-19 right now. We did notify the property manager of some prior damage that was done to some of the homeowners items within the house. We stayed there during the hurricane and the maintenance men did come around and help get everything tighten down. We had great neighbors! Check-out was easy as well. It's just disappointing to know that my sister and I spent the first 2 days cleaning while on our vacation and washing comforters.

Don’t waste your money!

This property was disgustingly dirty and in desperate need of repair. The policy states NO PETS! However, everything, including the inside of the refrigerator, was covered in pet hair. The rental agreement states to contact the company within two hours of arrival if there are any issues. Unfortunately, I didn’t read it until later. I’ll never make that mistake again. We were just excited to get moved in for the week and enjoy our vacation. I wish I had seen it first thing. I sure would have called and had their “professional cleaners” come back out. Their cleaning duties must only include picking up and replacing the linens. We spent those two hours cleaning up dust, dirt, and pet hair. Everything was dirty! The walls are buckled and paint is peeling off of them. The floors are weak and uneven. The bathroom ceiling and vent are covered in dust and what appears to be black mold. The toilets still had pet or human hair on them and the insides were dirty. The showers had a grimy film on them. The screen on the front door is broken. Two of the bedroom doors won’t shut. There’s just too much to list. The only good thing about the place was the location.

I am so sorry to hear this about the home upon arrival. We would have sent a cleaner down to address the issues had we been notified. I will let the rental manager know about the condition of the home upon arrival also so they can discuss this with the cleaners. Sadly awful

Very disappointing the rental agent said she would be there when we got there she was not. We got to the rental to discover no paper goods mainly toilet paper was told at check out that the company does not provide toilet paper or linens. Some where they say it’s in the fine print when we booked . We finally got linens at 9:30 at night at night to be told on check out we would be charged a extra 125.00 for them. The internet does not work the Tv would only get 2 channels. The kitchen needs to be restocked with cooking utensils it’s pretty hard to make eggs with no spatula very disappointed in the whole experience. When we called all we got was oh sorry.

Just what I wanted!

It was a very nice place to stay! My favorite part was the beach being so close! You literally step off the deck onto the Beach! My visit was in February, but the weather was great! And I basically had the entire beach to myself! The views are breathtakingly beautiful! The Beach had lot's of pretty shell's too!

The property and some things

Location you can not beat. The greenery around the building was overgrown and made parking even 2 vehicles difficult. The coffee pot was filthy, the showers had a film all over them, the dishes were not clean. Helpful that they had a dishwasher but the dishwasher needed to be cleaned. I think their problem may be that they have hard water but the overall cleaning in this place is lacking. There was no toilet paper not even a roll left on the holder. No trash bags not a one. No hand soap in either bathroom. These are things that should be mentioned so renters are prepared! The place is old with some updates. The floors were or seemed like the cleanest thing about this place. Too bad, as I said it's a great location.

Great location!

We really enjoyed this duplex! It was nicely furnished. Being literally just steps from the ocean was amazing! The only complaint was that many of the dishes from the cabinet were dirty and the pots/pans were so coated/used they probably should be replaced. Other than that we really enjoyed the property!

Inexpensive way to be oceanfront!!

Great place to stay if you're looking for a no frills place to relax with the ocean in your backyard, which is exactly what we wanted!! Could have been a little cleaner when we arrived, but we just wiped down a few things before we unpacked and all was well! Only thing that would make it better is if they provided clean sheets and towels.. That would probably increase the price, so we chose to pack them.. Overall, a great place to relax and take in the ocean breeze and bake on the beach!!👍👍

Randall we are glad you enjoyed "ocean front living" for a week at King of the Sea. I do want to apologize about the cleanliness of the unit upon check in. I will speak with my rental agencies about that. We hope to see you back at the beach!

Beach house emerald isle

we had a wonderful time and the house was perfect for us walk out back door and ur on the beach..we loved it

Not a good experience, house was filthy.

Where do I start? First of all this property is advertised on VRBO website, after you reserve you are directed to another company and they are in charge of the home. Check in was good, the home has no sheets or towels, have to pay extra, you would think that for the price paid they would supply this, but they do let you know that on the description, again I have never had to bring my own or pay extra. Toaster is from the dinosaur age and very filthy, pots and pans very limited and the ones in home are like second hand store brand. Walked into home and it had not been cleaned, refrigerator had food spilled inside not cleaned, microwave filthy, bathroom dirty, shower had hairs on floor where you step in, house looked like had not been dusted, windows dirty, garbage in some cans, called rental company and they said someone would be there to clean at 6 pm and we could not be in home as she cleaned, my check in was 3, so now my whole family had to leave the home so they can come in and clean, when it should have been clean in the first place, after they were done cleaning I still had to go get cleaning supplies and go over it again. I have rented many times through VRBO and never had any issues with any of my rentals, but like I said you are redirected after you make your payment. If you rent this property you might want to bring cleaning supplies. Only good thing I have to say is that it is right on the beach, loved sitting on deck enjoying view.
