We are Walking distance from Waterway; Boat Launch less than 1 mile from home and Room for Boat/Trailer Parking in driveway(please respect there is no parking in front yard)!!

Relax and unwind in a setting that has a flexible layout. Offering 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath. Perfect for Families with kids, Golfers, or fishing pals. Pillow top mattress for great night sleep. Enjoy morning coffee with Keurig machine. Enjoy A quiet evening on front screened porch, Smart Tv’s and WiFi access.
Our location means you’re only a few minutes away from the bridge that leads you to the beach. If your interest is fishing then you’ll find opportunities everywhere from beach, pier & charter boats. If you love golf then in addition to 3 signature golf courses across street at Sea Trail Community there are many others within a 5 mile radius. There are many quaint shops, grocery store, restaurants and ice cream/slushy shops within reach to our home: not to mention Calabash, NC just 2 miles away. Larger Ocean Isle Beach is within 4 miles and has its own atmosphere and opportunities for recreation(offering new park for kids).

Nice and quiet neighborhood. The front porch was the the best thing about this place. There was a musty smell and evidence of mildew and water damage .. had to empty the dehumidifier bucket twice a day! The furniture and carpet were smelly and dated. There were no doors on some of the rooms . Would not be staying here again

The trailer, not a cottage, is infested with mold and mildew

From the moment we drove up, we noticed a broken window which is in one of the bedrooms. There was an old rolled up dirty carpet/ rug lying on the front porch close to the front door and the front porch stuck like cigarette smoke. Immediately walking into the front sliding door, I smelled a musky mildew odor. As we inspected the place, We noticed what seemed to be old water damage to the walls in each bedroomand in the bathroom and shower room. the dryer was outside on the back carport with oak leafs and old lent from the filter piled up around it. Also there was animal poop of some kind around the dryer and the dryer was dirty from being exposed to the outside. I had to empty the dehumidifier at least twice a day. The shower room floor was stained with mildew and other stains. the closet in the bedroom closest to the bathroom/ shower room has a lot of mold and mildew in the ceiling of the closet. It gave me a terrible headache. The photos describing the property are very deceiving. I contacted the owner within the first 24 hours and even later about the issues, she responded that the price reflected the condition of the property, but there is no information about the condition of the property in the original listing when I booked this several months ago. I am very disappointed with the property and it hindered our family vacation due to the horrible conditions. I hope VRBO doesn't allow owners to list such properties in this condition to other costumers.

Beach vacation

Stay was ok didn't know the dryer was outside said there was a charcoal grill under carport so we stopped and got charcoal and food for on the grill to find no grill and to empty dehumidifier every 2 hours other than that the stay was nice would stay again and very close to the beach

The property is nice and covenient to the beach. The property owner was very nice and accommodating. She was always available by email for questions.

Not Great

Had a 3.5hr drive so we arrived at the property late the night of check in around 9:30. Walked into the property and it was somewhat what I expected, but not entirely. The pictures that are posted are not exactly representative of what the state of the home is actually in. Doors to the rooms are either broken or non existent. Washing machine is inside the home, dryer is outside on the patio. Front porch was full of pollen and dust with (had to clean seating before we could use). There was a rolled up old rug that was stained and clearly trash that was just laying on the front porch. Ok, no problem. I can look past a lot, but the real kicker was when we went to put away our groceries in the refrigerator. Immediately when you open the door it smelled like dead fish. There was a frozen bowl of liquid on the top shelf of the fridge and in the bottom under the drawers was a yellow gel like liquid. My wife ended up spending about an hour cleaning the refrigerator out so we could even use it. If I could post the pictures I would. When I contacted the host, her response was that she would contact house keeping as she was unaware of the state of things and was sorry for the inconvenience. Refunding the cleaning fee would have been more appropriate. Will not stay at the property again.

Needs some improvements

The cottage was cute on Vrbo. The screened in front porch and location was the attraction for us. The inside or outside porch areas wasnt very clean. The house smelled like mildew and musty. Many things didn't work like outlets in bedrooms, coffee maker, lamps. Refrigerator didnt look very clean. For the money you pay everything should work and it should be spotless! It has so much potential and needs to be uodated. The screened in front porch and the location in Sunset Beach was the best thing about this rental.

Had to switch

Thru no fault of the owner at the last minute the property we booked was damaged and we could not stay there. The owner graciously switched us to another property she owned for the same price. The other property was nice just needs outside lights. What could have been a Christmas disaster turned out good. Thank you Jennifer

Did NOT met Expectations

My wife and I booked this place to stay for the Thanksgiving Holiday to visit with family who are local, for starters, we did not get the place we originally rented that met our accommodations. The owner gave us less than a 24 hour notice they had to move us to another rental down the street from that one we booked, which had we had more notice we would have canceled and found something more fitting for us. Upon arrival, the porch lights did not work which was very frustrating being we got there after dark, there were dead bugs in every room, the washer was extremely loud you couldn't enjoy anything if it was running, the dryer was a safely hazard because it would not turn off even after cycle and the switch to turn it on and off was broken and missing so you had to find that sweet spot to make sure it was off or it would just run non stop, the dishes were worn and honestly need to be replaced, there was no vaccine to clean up the bugs. All in all was very disappointed with the outcome, wish we had just rented a hotel room or even more of an opportunity to cancel and found something better and way more accommodating to our needs. On a positive note, we are thankful they at least tried on their end to rehouse us considering it was the Holidays, I just wish we were given that option and or more options and choices.

Family Vacation

Great family place to stay, small pet friendly which is perfect for us. We have used this place three different years and always look for it when we gonto Sunset Beach. Great communication with owner. Appliances are a little dated but worked no issues. Overall we loved staying because of location and family setting.

Left early

As soon as we walked into the cottage, we were greeted by a super strong odor of cat or dog urine. We left the doors open to try and air it out, but unfortunately the smell never went away while we were there. When I sat on the floor to help my kids with something, the odor was unbearable in more than one of the rooms. Overall, the carpet and the place looked clean, but the smell was a major problem. My kids initially slept in the front bedroom. There are blinds but no curtains in that room and unfortunately the blinds did not keep out the light from the street light that was right outside the window. Both of our kids ended up waking up and coming into the other rooms to sleep. I tried to stay in that room to get my son back to bed but it was even too bright in there for me to sleep in there. On the positive, we initially went to the wrong address and when we called the owner about not being able to get in, she was very response and answered right away. We also messaged her about the smell and she responded right away but did not offer any solutions. My kids loved that there was a small table and children’s chairs on the porch they could sit on. The location was great for the event we were attending and it was nice to at least have a place to store our stuff while we went to the beach. But we could not stay there a second night with how bad the smell was. Overall, the property was largely as advertised, not 5 star accommodations by any means, but adequate minus the smell.

Our children have enjoyed and continue to enjoy every bit of sunset beach and will continue for years to come. We hope you will enjoy our beach “cottage” as I call it!
