Located in the very quiet area of St. Joe Beach you’ll find Flamingo Dunes. The 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath home has great covered deck space on two levels maximizing the beach front views this home has to offer. A very comfortable property, this beach rental is laid out with the bedrooms on the first level and the open living area on the top floor. This allows for great gulf views from almost every room in the house. With a small number of homes located in the area, you will feel like you have your very own private beach. It’s a great place to search for seashells and ideal spot for children. Because it’s protected by the Cape San Blas peninsula, this creates a quiet shoreline and a perfect place for beginner swimmers or those who just want to dip their toes in the water.

The beach!!!

We didn’t know what to expect as this was the first time we’ve ever booked a vacation like this! It was seamless, great communications, the house was perfect for our group and with it being right on the beach it was a great thrill for our 9 yr old granddaughter. We had a great week and can’t wait to do it again next year!

Beautiful!

This house is wonderful with the most beautiful views. It has two master bedrooms and bathrooms and another bedroom with two twin beds. There is also a sitting area that is very spacious. We had so much fun! There is an ocean view in every room!

Girls’ Weekend

The beach house was charming, however it could use some minor updates…the dining room chair were worn and the carpet is old and drab. Otherwise, the house was in good condition and provided a comfortable stay. I stayed in the downstairs master bedroom and the bed slept very well. The views were amazing!

Family time

Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. There were some issues such as the sliding glass door to the back deck did not have a lock. Also the cable and tv in the master needed to be replaced. Other than this I thought the house was spectacular. The breeze from the bay was awesome!

Private beautiful beach area.

The decor is outdated, however, that is not a big deal. The beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed. The house was in a great private location, very few people on the beach. No public parking which is great. The views are stunning. Less than a minute and you are on the beach. The only downfall is the air conditioning units can’t keep up and the house never got below 74 degrees. The house was set at 80 degrees upon arrival and all of the shades were open. The house did not cool down until the next day. It was 78 when we went to bed, not a comfortable sleeping temperature.

Serious cleaning, updates and remodeling needed

The house is a great house other than the rain pouring inside the window and causing it to rot and have black mold, along with the nasty stained up cloth couch, black mold around air vents and the air conditioning not properly cooling. Me and my whole family including my 2 month granddaughter are all sick. The owner of this property should not renting this unit until it is repaired and deep cleaned!

The only good thing I can say about this property is where it is located. We stayed next door last year and fell in love with the area. The place we stayed the previous year was booked but we found this one available. Check-in was a breeze so that was nice. The things we didn’t like was that fact that it was out dated. When we arrived the maintenance guy was there fixing the stove. I noticed right away how stained the furniture was. I had to buy sheets to cover them so we could sit on them. The chairs at the table were worn and falling apart. The bar stools had crumbs in the cracks they looked worn as well. The mattresses in all the rooms were worn out and you slept in holes. One of the showers didn’t not drain well. The sliding doors were hard to open and close. The ice maker in the refrigerator didn’t work. If you slept in the room by the living room it was noisy from toilets flushing and water draining from showers. The toilet in that bathroom ran the whole time too. I feel like the place has potential to be a really nice rental place if they would put money in to updating it and fixing things.

Not worth the money

I am keeping this as short as possible and listing negative points first, 1. The property is WAY OVERPRICED for the condition its in ! Very dated and run down . Looks like nobody has touched it since the 1980s .2. Beds are the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE beds I've ever slept in. My back hurt every night i tried to sleep in them. It looks like they have literally not been changed in decades . 3 . Curtains did not open and ose easily, very annoying. 4. Sliding doors also were very difficult to open and close and lock or unlock. Very frustrating !5. The screens on some the windows were so bad you couldnt even see out them .6. The chairs and couches were stained to the point you didnt want to sit on them. 7. The outside was in need of repair as well although this wasnt as big of an issue unless you find sigding falling off the back deck an issue, i just overlooked it . The only redeeming quality this place had was the location , its on a quiet street with a bay view . There were some dolphins that came by each day and that was nice to see. Other than that I don't have anything positive to say about this property. Its DEFINITELY NOT worth what i paid in my opinion. I would NOT stay here again . Much nicer properties eleswhere with gulf views not bay views.

Excellent Location

As others have said, the house needs some TLC and repairs here and there. And we did have an ant problem, even when we first got there, they were in the cabinets and continued to be a pest all during the stay, within the kitchen and under the carport. That being said, you cannot beat this location. The beach was private, we were on a dead in road, and that road dead ended into the WindMark bike path. We rented a kayak, paddle board and two adult bikes and that was the best decision. We had brought my kids bikes, so when we weren't on the beach, we were riding the path. The beach was beautiful and calm. I would absolutely return to this location. We had planned to eat at the restaurants at WindMark, but there was an area wide outage for internet and we couldn't order, so we took the short drive to St. Joe and brought pizza back to the house. Overall a wonderful beach trip, wish it could have been longer.

St Joe Beach

We had a great time. The house Location, view, and peacefulness is outstanding. The house is laid out well for multiple couples and it was clean. The home is older and is in need of some TLC. In particular the stove needs to be replaced. Two of the burners were barely working and the oven didn’t heat Very well either. The sliding doors to the Deck are very difficult to open and one of the handles was off. Overall we had a good time and the issues with the house were a minor inconvenience.

Excellent location. Decent House

The house was a little dirty when we arrived and still had some exterior damage from past storms. The house had several safety issues for small kids such as insecure railings on the 2nd and 3rd floor where a child could fall through. The property manager came out and semi-corrected this the next day. Overall the property was in okay shape and the location is excellent.

No internet but great view

The view was amazing! When we got to the property after an 8 hour drive--our code didn't work. Due to spotty wireless--it took about 40 min. to get a hold of someone and get the door open. That was all okay--because the view was amazing. The second day of our trip, the internet (including the TV) went out. We contacted the office. They said that someone would be out the next day. No one came and no one contacted us. We didn't have internet or TV for the remainder of our trip. My husband was working "from home" and the spotty wireless signal made it difficult. Other than that, the house was bare. There was nothing. There was no dish soap, one roll of toilet paper, and that's it. When the listing says bring garbage bags--bring garbage bags! The sliding door was broken, the lamp was broken, only one burner on the stove worked.... We contacted Pristine Properties at the end of the trip--no one called us back. We will go back to this area, but will not rent from Pristine Properties.

Perfect quiet and peaceful.

Very private and calm water for kids, the house was perfect views of the water from every room, we were a party of 6 and there was lots of room for everyone, couldnt ask for anything better, except house does need some minor repairs and wasnt very clean but we would rent again for sure, loved it.

Flamingo Dunes is fantastic

My 2 friends and I do a Girl’s Week every year. We were thrilled with this property with it’s private beach and beautiful home. Very quiet and peaceful. There was a little damage to soffit over the deck and some water damage around some glass block windows from the last hurricane, but it in no way affected our stay. We are already checking dates to come back next year. Would recommend highly!!!

Disappointed

We stay in Port St Joe every year for a family vacation. This is the first time we had a terrible trip. I called twice prior to our stay to confirm we had two chairs and an umbrella before leaving. I have two small boys who need shade. Upon our arrival there were no chairs or umbrella. I spent the first two days trying to get them delivered. Pristine property lists this house and I had to wait on hold for 10 min each call. I also called the rental company and they said that they never received the order. By the end they could deliver it on our third day there. So I went and bought chairs and an umbrella. There are cockroaches in the kitchen so we had to throw all of the food away that we had left out on the counters. This honestly grosses me out and I didn’t want to eat anything that wasn’t in the refrigerator. They only leave you six towels/ wash clothes for the entire week. This would probably be ok if there weren’t six people staying in the house. There are no beach towels or toys left for kids to play with. We are accustom to staying at homes that provide beach towels amd many other amenities that make a trip much easier. They have two nice decks ,but they do not supply any type of table only 3 plastic chairs and one was cracked. The view was amazing and it is shallow so it is great area for small children. But I would suggest finding another house in the same area.

Sweet Seclusion

The property was as exactly as shown on VRBO. It was a very short walk up and over the dunes to be directly on the beach. The decks were absolutely lovely!! House smelled very fresh and clean upon arrival. Furniture and appliances were a bit bit dated. Since there were only two of us, I didn’t run the dishwasher until the night before we left. The following morning upon unloading it, it was clear that it didn’t work as soap was caked in the dispenser and the plates were still dirty...which would further explain why plates taken out of the cabinet throughout our trip were dirty. All in all, would stay here again.

Pt St Joe

Love the quietness this property gives you, it is at the mouth of the bay, very secluded. We come to Mexico Beach often, we have family here, and while we knew this stretch of beach isn’t the nicest in this area, the quietness made it worthwhile. If the owner would make a minimum investment in appliances (neither the stove, nor the dishwasher were working) and a table for the deck, it would be a lovely property. The management were quick to bring us a grill, and the stove was fixed a day before we left, but the dishwasher never worked. There are no tables on the deck, only plastic chairs. I wish I could have given 3.5 stars overall. Again, for a small investment, I believe this property would be a five star.

Definitely recommend for families and children

It was an awesome place to stay. Very clean. Private beach area. Dolphins daily. The best part was the kids could enjoy the water without the huge waves. Beds was comfy and ac works great!!! Kitchen has everything we needed. Will definitely be back!!
