Seaside Holiday Haven

Okiwi Bay is located within Croisilles Harbour in the Marlborough Sounds, a short one hour 20 minute drive from both Nelson and Blenheim.

Seaside Holiday Haven is a spacious coastal seaside two-story, two bedroom home (sleeps up to seven) with ocean views and easy access to the beach and boat ramp. Great location for the kids with a playground directly across the road. Large U-shaped driveway with plenty of parking ensuring great access for the boat and other water toys.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and single trundler, the other with a queen bed only. There is also a large lounge/living area upstairs with a single day bed and a double pullout futon bed. Additional $20 per night per person applies.

Please bring own linen and towels, all other items are provided. There is a small convenience store in the bay if you need supplies, or a larger Four Square in Havelock (50 min drive).

Small pets are welcome by prior arrangement. The property has a large fully fenced rear section.

Fantastic stay, everything we needed, loved the close location to the boat ramp. Very comfortable beds, great backyard, complete with fish cleaning bench. Just an overall fabulous bach. We really enjoyed staying. Thank you.

Best location, best view. Well equipped homely Bach for a warm comfortable holiday! We are repeat bookers and are never disappointed. Will be back again later in the year. Okiwi Bay is an awesome holiday destination.

A great stay in Ōkiwi Bay

We keep coming back to this comfortable, well-appointed rental with its wonderful ambience and stunning views. Katrina and Giles are always helpful and accommodating hosts who work hard to ensure their guests have everything required for a memorable stay.

Nice break from the madness of work.

A nice house with good facilities and views. Just a short walk to the beach and the coffee cart. We had fun feeding the eels along the sacred walkway which can be accessed from the beach, and looking around the rock pools and caves at low tide.

Amazing place to stay

When you first walk in we noticed how clean everything was! Very easy to love! Comfortable layout of the house with everything you would need and such wonderful views of the beach, the kids loved having the park right across the road we could watch them while sipping a coffee on both decks. Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows! I particularly loved that we could bring our little dog and there was a fenced back yard where he could chill out after a walk. Overall it was a wonderful stay and the locals are friendly and plenty of space for parking. I would highly recommend the fairy walk along the creek!

Fantastic getaway rental

Okiwi Bay is a very special destination for us and our friends and Katrina's Seaside Holiday Haven is now our first choice when we visit. It's an extremely clean, well-appointed and comfortable place to stay. We just love the expansive views across the bay and out to sea. The spacious living areas upstairs and downstairs and well-equipped kitchen make it an ideal rental for enjoying good company and relaxing in amazing surroundings. We are so grateful we can stay there. Many thanks.

Spacious, Clean, Comfortable

We stayed 2 nights in early May (main aim: driving the iconic route to French Pass & back in a day, while also enjoying the peace, beauty & tranquility of Okiwi Bay itself). I'd say this accommodation is ideal for 2-6 people ... & we'd certainly recommend it & be more than happy to return. A very attractive house, great setting with hills, trees & bush behind & impressive sea views from both the upstairs lounge deck & the beautiful downstairs verandah with vine-covered Pergola. Nice large, sheltered, well-manicured backyard - with park bench. Essentially 3 levels: Bottom Floor: has modern kitchen with all the utensils you'll need, very large bathroom/toilet/laundry (incl a good selection of towels) & a kind of make-shift lounge with TV & a sofa that folds down to double-bed (this downstairs lounge also acts as hallway to stairs), then 10 or so carpeted stairs with handrail up to 2nd level landing with entrances to the 2 bedrooms (both immaculately presented - the photos don't quite do them justice - one with luxurious silver-grey decor / the other immaculate emerald green & both more substantial in size & structure than the photos suggest + very large built-in wardrobes), then another 3 or 4 carpeted stairs to Top Floor = very comfortable, carpeted & well-appointed Upper Lounge with large screen TV, good diverse selection of DVDs, ceiling-to-floor windows & outside deck for views ... No real negatives with this very nice home ... only slight word of caution to elderly guests & others with mobility issues: just be aware of those 10 or so stairs between the bedrooms & bathroom (although fold-out bed in downstairs couch may solve any probs in that regard). My elderly parents (90 / 91 yo) were able to manage OK. Also (related to above) although the large downstairs windows with sliding door allow brilliant views, they had no curtains when we were there ... so slight privacy issues, esp if any guest is sleeping on downstairs fold-out (although, tbf, very few nearby houses were occupied ... so only a very minor issue). [Note: Bedrooms & Upper Lounge all have full curtains ... so it's just a downstairs thing] ... But overall no hesitation in scoring the house 5 out of 5 - Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting. And hosts were clearly very nice, likeable & attentive.

Awesome property. Great location. Nothing extra fancy, but everything is in good condition and immaculately clean. Very well equipped bach too. (Lots of cooking gear, fab bbq,) Absolutely loved it there.

Wonderful place to escape

Katrina and Giles are great hosts and their holiday home is perfect for an escape from the city. Okiwi bay is beautiful (best if you have a boat) and the property is located a 2 min walk from the water. There’s a playground across the road, and an ice cream and coffee stand 5 mins walk away (open Weds - Sun during summer). The house has everything you could possibly need and was spotless when we checked in. We would definitely stay again!
