About Gary Mitchell

My name is Gary, I grew up not too far from Broken Bow, it was a frequent destination when we went on vacation as a kid. I loved it and have had many good memories. We currently live in the Dallas area, and visit the Beavers Bend often. I feel we are extremely blessed to have the Rowdy Beaver to share with you.

Gary Mitchell purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Gary Mitchell chose Oklahoma

We chose Beavers Bend area because it is only 3 hours from Dallas, and it has lots of things to do outdoors. The area is beautiful, and we enjoy exploring all it has to offer.

The Rowdy Beaver is located in an ideal spot, just off 259, 1/4 mile from 259A. The pictures will tell all. The Rowdy Beaver is "Breathtaking" inside and out!

What makes this cabin unique

I love to come here and not have to pack a lot of stuff, I have fully equipped kitchen. The cabin with everything needed to enjoy your stay. We tried to think of everything from a circle drive to a pool table upstairs. X-Box One, WII,

Beautiful cabin, great for creating family memories

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our trip to the Broken Bow area. Beautiful scenery & the air (and cabin) smells of pine. We enjoyed "family game time" at the cabin. The pool table was a favorite. We enjoyed the crushed ice & water features in the fridge door. The washer & dryer were handy. Everyone in the area was friendly. We ate lunch at the Grateful Head one afternoon (yummy pizza). Frank, at Beaver Bend Nature Center educated us about the local wildlife. Saw several deer, both at the cabin & in Beaver Bend State Park. Our vacation was peaceful.

The cabin was better than expected.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the layout! It allowed for the adults to have bedrooms downstairs and the kids to have their own space (which they loved) in the loft. Also the kids loved the numerous games that were stored there. It's great when you have a trip with kids and they don't even want to watch TV or play on their phones!

Perfect cabin for our family!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we drove up, we knew the cabin was going to be great. It was beautiful inside and out. The furnishings and decor are beautiful and fun. It was very clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was perfect - just south of the southern park entrance. Unlike many of the cabins in the area, this one is easy to get to with a circle drive and no steep hills. We cooked meals every night and used the well-stocked kitchen, the charcoal grill, and the firepit (for hot dogs and smores). The kitchen had everything we needed. For entertainment and relaxation, we enjoyed the hot tub, the pool table, and the x-box. There was even a good selection of board games and puzzles upstairs. If you're not trying to "get away from it all", you'll appreciate the four TVs with cable and WiFi available. All of the beds were comfortable, including the fun pull-out twin beds in the loft. With four kids, I was especially fond of having a full sized washer and dryer available. We spent our days in the park hiking, canoeing, and swimming, but the family was always anxious to get back to the cabin to play and relax each night. There are other cabins within sight, but it was very quiet and peaceful while we were there. Driving to the cabin one evening, we saw several deer nearby. We would recommend this cabin to anyone, but it's especially great for families. We hope to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Just what I needed!!

  • 5 of 5

Really needed some time away, and this place was more than I could have hoped for!! Loved the woods, loved the area, loved the lake and WOW- what a house!! Definitely a luxury cabin. Loved the layout, and the design. Would have been great if we had brought some kids, but this was a weekend away from them as well! :) Owner was very communicative and attentive to anything we needed. My only complaint is that I NEEDED MORE TIME THERE! :)

Beautiful Get-Away Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is very comfortable, clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the fire-pit the evening we arrived and enjoyed the peaceful outdoor atmosphere. The pool table is a fun addition. The cabin is close enough to the grocery store and there are several places nearby to eat or have a cold beverage. If you want to try a unique eatery we would recommend The Moon Tower Bar and Grill...the food was super and the portions were very generous. You will be very happy with this cabin...we sure were!
