**IRMA UPDATE** Property handled IRMA well, only damage to the North and East docks a new rear finger dock has been completed to accommodate dockage/boats/fishing. See photos taken December 2017 to show current status of the docks.

Stay at your own tropical retreat with 270 degree long bay views in total privacy; a place to relax, recharge and have some fun. A unique find as this duplex unit is at the end of the causeway providing unparalleled views and privacy. Brand new 30' dock off the rear of the property with quick access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.


Beach Paradise is decorated and designed to give you the Florida Keys appeal you are looking for, from the palm trees framing the house outside to the tranquil water-views, this Florida Keys Vacation Rental is a true island gem.

The large master bedroom features a Queen Sized bed and private bath with walk-in shower. The guest bedroom features 2 twins beds with an adjacent full bathroom.

The Living Room is furnished with a sleeper sofa and comfortable seating providing great views of the water and Key Colony Beach through the large windows.

Outside there is ample waterfront seating overlooking the bay (very private). Brand new 30' dock off the rear of the property. The home also features a gas grill and bait freezer.


One trailer may be parked in the driveway, the driveway is approximately 26' deep. Trailers must not interfere with visibility on the causeway and not be within 20' of centerline of road (I believe 25-30' trailer lengths will be fine). Additional trailer parking is available at the Key Colony Beach community parking area (inquire with KCB), note boats can not be on the trailer in this area (trailers only).

Cabana Beach Club Information

A membership to the Cabana Beach Club, located within walking distance on Key Colony Beach, is included in your stay. Present your Cabana Club pass to the receptionist when you arrive at the Cabana Club and enjoy all of the amenities they have to offer for the duration of your stay.

Take a walk or soak up the sunshine on the impeccably maintained private, sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The Cabana Club also features a 65 foot long Olympic sized pool that is cooled during the day and heated on chilly evenings to provide the ideal temperature for a swim at any time. Key Colony is a pedestrian friendly city and features wide bike paths throughout the entire island. Rent some bikes while you`re in town and explore our islands like the locals.

Enjoy a meal out at one of the many restaurants in Key Colony including Sparky`s Landing, Cabana Breezes and the Key Colony Inn. Sparky`s is our favorite waterfront place to go for happy hour and live music. At any of the local restaurants you can taste some of the freshest seafood that the Florida Keys has to offer.

Also located in Key Colony are our friends down at Deep Blue Dive. Stop in or give them a call to arrange snorkel trips, scuba trips, spearfishing and lobstering.

The City of Key Colony features multiple children`s playgrounds as well as a golf course.

Getting around

Cabs are inexpensive here in Marathon $6 anywhere on island. A number of restaurants on KCB offer pickup/dropoff service.

Other things to note:

All reservation must run from a Saturday to Saturday (exceptions possible during low season). Check in 5 pm or later and check out is at 10 am or earlier.

No partial weeks are allowed (7 day minimum rental per Code). Please inquire for exceptions to this policy during low season only. No Pets. No Smoking.

Fantastic. Convenient, yet private. Awesome location.

We loved the week in key colony. The house was awesome, clean and very comfortable. My sons loved being able to fish right from the back dock. The convenience to overseas hwy was great, yet it was so quiet you felt like you were miles away. Also, we very much enjoyed the cabana club. It was so much fun. I would love to come back every year.

Fantastic Spring Getaway!

The property is great for a family getaway. We saw manatees, dolphins and stingrays from the dock. We have two teen-age boys who enjoyed fishing from the dock and the property is well kept. Brad was accessible to help with all of our questions. We would recommend this property for people who enjoy watching marine life. The Cabana room and private beach was also very nice and the people were very friendly! The Lohr family

It took a little getting used to but we enjoyed our stay

Was nice inside and everything was available and worked well for a home like experience however if you want to watch any tv the channel selections are VERY limited, esp. if you want sports. No ESPN channels and no golf, and other channels you would expect to get. Not recommended for children. Many sharp objects around and side dock not repaired as pictured on HomeAway. Would not recommend to someone without boat. Overpriced for general area , much traffic, and noise due to repair work nearby. Good restaurants close. Thanks to Brad for letting us stay an extra day due to illness. Some difficulty with WiFi but got it fixed.

Owner's Response: Marion sorry you didn't have a 5* experience, I am responding to clarify a few things for future guests: (1) Regarding pricing, your stay was 30% less expensive than what the Holiday Inn Express in Marathon was charging for a single standard room during the same time, and that was a discounted last minute rate). Your stay was also in mid-February at the peak of season. Key Colony is desirable destination in the Keys and rents at a premium to some other areas (I see you had stayed in Coco Plum before which is more economical). (2) Not sure why you stated it is not kid friendly as from your profile I understand you are retired and didn't have kids with you. I have twin 5-year olds and have no issues bringing them to the home. Also the guest the week prior to you had a 5-year old with no concerns (5* review), additionally I have had numerous guest with babies/toddlers who have not had any issues. Further, all rental homes in Key Colony are inspected annually by the building department before a rental license is issued to insure guest safety. (3) Wifi issue was guest device related (I made multiple calls to guest while I was also on a family vacation to try to rectify). I have top of the line router and extenders on property to provide excellent wifi coverage to work outside. If the Wifi had not been operational I would have gotten a notice from my Remotelock or Nest products. (4) Cable package is Digital Economy (140+ channels) and both TVs are smart TVs for any streaming/subscription services guest may have. (5) Regarding repair work, I would imagine guests would anticipate some repair work in the area due to your stay being 5-months after a hurricane hit the area, I have not had any other complaints to date on this post-IRMA. The home is located in a less dense area with not too many nearby neighbors so I would anticipate my home has significantly less repair work nearby than the beachfront areas. (6) In highlight early in my listing that "the North/West docks were destroyed during IRMA" and have three current photos of the docks from Dec 17 posted. The shared finger dock off the rear of the property is brand new to accommodate boating/fishing.

A perfect retreat!

This is our 2nd stay here and we cannot say enough good things. The view is what we live for and we wish we could visit more! We hardly even left the property because there was so much peace in that place!

We also were able to fish off the dock, we loved the full kitchen so could cook family meals together, and we also loved that the large windows opened wide open to enjoy the sea breeze!

On one side of the house you can see the sunrise. In the evening you can see the sunset on the other side of the house.

The owner's communication was stellar and he responded quickly any time we had any questions.

The property is well maintained and clean and the new appliances make cooking/dish washing a breeze!

We can't wait to be back!

Great place to stay!

We spent 2 weeks in this duplex and had a wonderful time. It had been recently remodeled and was quite clean. The kitchen was well supplied. We like to fish and in addition to charters caught snappers and grunts off the dock. There were restaurants within walking distance. The pool at the Cabana Club was wonderful; it was heated so we swam even when the days were chilly by Keys standards. We would certainly come back to this spot!
