A lovely break in the jungle
The last piece of road leading to Treetops is a bit of an adventure, but it is SO worth it when you arrive - the peaceful feeling of being surrounded by nature, the amazingly warm welcome of Robert and Christy, and the chance to see and hear howler monkeys and tons of birds far outweighs the need to drive carefully. The cabin is simple and has everything you need to really wind down. Our family of five LOVED the river tour and the Che Chem Ha Caves tour with Robert and his crew... his knowledge and passion for sharing makes all the difference and his sense of humour immediately put us all at ease. Take a headlamp or flashlight with you... it'll come in handy if you want to spend some time reading in the evening, as well, as the solar powered lights are sometimes a bit dim at the end of the day. All in all, I would highly recommend Treetops.
Kate, we absolutely loved having you to our Better in Belize Eco-Village and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Treetops Guest House! Glad you enjoyed some wonderful tours that added to your Rainforest adventure. Please feel welcome to come again in the future.
Wonderful Jungle Abode
We were looking for a jungle home for a family vacation for the 5 of us (all adults) and we found the perfect place. Howler monkeys were frequently nearby, starry nights were incredible, and beds were comfortable. Robert and Christy looked after us very well, and Robert's river "splash" tour was the highlight of our vacation. The location is remote, but San Ignacio/Succotz is about 45 minutes away (on a rather rough road - 4 wheel drive strongly recommended) with remarkable Mayan ruins. Recommend Benny's Ktichen in Succotz for great food.
Amazing stay at Better in Belize
Just returning home from a stay in a tranquil rainforest paradise at Better in Belize eco-village. We rented Treetops, a beautiful wooden cabin. Its name fits perfect as it backed onto the forest so I had my little piece of paradise in my backyard. There are three bedrooms all of good size and we felt like it was a home away from home with all its amenities. We had a nice outdoor private seating overlooking the forest. There were community gardens across the road.
Treetops is a great vacation rental for families with children. You can spend quality time together while exploring the outdoors.
The eco-village is great for sighting wild animals and birdwatching. There is also a lookout where you can enjoy the mountain view overlooking the beautiful Macal River Valley. It was so breathtaking and peaceful I just sat and enjoyed the sights and sounds. A tour company in San Ignacio offers pontoon boat waterfall tours on Vaca Lake there and also horseback riding in the surrounding mountains.
Am so relaxed after a great experience at Better in Belize, and I will most definitely return soon.
It was wonderful hosting you at our Treetops Guest House in our
Better in Belize Eco Village. So great you enjoyed the animals, birdlife and peaceful rainforest. Thanks for being such a terrific guest. We would be happy to have you return anytime!
Perfect and secluded weekend getaway!
Located just opposite the Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is this hidden hideaway called Better in Belize. This off grid community offers scenic view of the Macal River & Ridge. Upon arrival we were greeted by Roberto; the onsite manager, who was very hospitable and made our stay even more interesting as he educated us on the area, the people and how they thrive in solar-powered/eco living. I enjoyed my stay in this beautiful Eco home( Treetops), where we arose to the melodious birds chirping in the morning while enjoying a hot cup of coffee on the deck. Surely a must for the adventure seeker and nature lover. We hiked the wonderful trails where the ancient Maya once roamed free on the sunrise circle, we then went down to the river for a tour of the waterfalls nearby… the scene was breathtaking on the Vaca lake and knowing you were in between two water dams was nature at it’s best. Be sure to stop by the “lookout” for the most magnificent view of this 133 acre Eco Village. It really is Better in Belize!
Sandy, it was a pleasure having you to our Better in Belize Eco-Village! So glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Treetops and that you were able to hike through the rainforest and enjoy nature at its best ! You are most welcome to come again.
