Ocean Avenue - Meredith Lodging

Ocean Avenue serves up a great beach stay for a crowd, with a spacious ocean-view upper level with two living and two dining rooms. The five bedrooms, including two king primary suites, are arrayed around an expansive, fenced deck punctuated with Adirondack chairs, a barbecue, and a fire table perfect for evenings outdoors. Your guests can happily mingle on plush sofas or retreat to a separate set of sofas and TVs on the same floor. You can choose from ocean-view dining at the table for 8, or eat at another table for 6, supplemented by three seats at the breakfast bar adjoining the kitchen. A skylight brings sun to the pretty kitchen, fully equipped for a feast with a walk-in pantry. An ocean-view deck wraps the house for ocean breezes and sunset gazing.

A trail across a pretty meadow takes you to the splendor of quiet Gearhart beach, and the downtown with its quaint shops and restaurants is a five-minute walk. Hop in the car for world-class golf or explore the whole North Coast, from family fun in Seaside, walks along incredible Cannon Beach, to incredible ocean views from a hike up Neahkahnie Mountain. Place was great for a couples retreat. House and location were exceptional. I do think there was a mix up because we had no kitchen towels or hand soap. I’m sure it was an over site.

Family clamming weekend

Top notch location and roomy sleeping quarters. Kitchen and living room far from bedrooms so that sleeping in was undisturbed by the early risers. Wonderful view of the ocean, and trail access right across the street. Plenty of parking for all. Dog friendly was great. Only complaints: Pre existing stains on the carpet were not pretty to look at and kitchen towels and rags were minimal. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Great family friendly spot!

We had the best stay at this house. It’s perfect for families!!! Big rooms, big entertainment spaces, and amazing views. It had a perfect beach cottage feeling to it too. Would stay here again!

Annual Family Trip

We had a fantastic time at this location. The weather was unseasonally warm and sunny. We all had a blast! Proximity to beach was incredible. The only thing I would say negative is that the kitchen could have better stocked. But we totally made it work.

Good location

We enjoyed our stay in Gearhart. The location of the house was great. The interior really needs some updating - the carpets were badly stained and also a lot of the couches. The beds were comfortable but had only one very thin blanket. Some of the doors from bedrooms to patio didn’t lock. And the tandem bike in the garage has flat tires. (The teens were so excited to ride. ). Not sure if we would stay here again - maybe after it is updated (which the property manager said was in their plans).

Great spot for family holiday!

We visited this house for a combined Thanksgiving and 70th birthday celebration for my mother-in-law and it was great! The bedrooms are very nice, with great mattresses and the bathrooms are stocked with lots of towels. The house has 2 living room areas, which was nice for our large group to be able to spread out. The beach is an easy, short walk away and the neighborhood was really nice. Thank you!

This getaway was a real treat!

We enjoyed staying at this home very much! They layout worked well for us, it had plenty of amenities, and being able to walk and be at the beach in minutes was the best! Great quiet beaches here! Hope to come again!

Rainy Retreat

The weather kept us indoors so it was great to have room to spread out. The kitchen is very dated but had ample dishes, pots and pans. Neighborhood is quiet and beach access is great.

Gearhart Retreat

Good Spot - plenty of room. Perfect for a group of golfers. Plenty of Parking. Outdoor patio and gas fire pit was great to hang at. According to on-line listing one more bed was expected. Range and oven was difficult to use and not all burners functional. All in all - would stay here again.

Beautiful view

This place has big windows with a beautiful view. Great trail across the street to access the beach. Property felt a little rundown. There were some rips in screen doors and a couple of windows that couldn’t lock. Super convenient location in a beautiful little town.

Loved our stay!

My family of five stayed for five days with grandparents and cousins. We all had plenty of space and bathrooms. We loved the living areas with the giant windows towards the beach and the kids loved looking through the telescopes. The distance to the beach can’t be beat and the house supplied all the sand toys we needed. My toddler loved riding her scooter on the giant deck and the other kids loved the games closet. We had a great time!

Weekend getaway

House had plenty of room for 3 couples and a beautiful view. House is a bit dated but had everything we needed. Unfortunately it was a stormy weekend (fireplace was awesome) so we couldn’t enjoy the huge enclosed deck but it would be amazing on a sunny day! Location is great- nice walk to the beach and great neighborhood.

Great winter weekend getaway!

Our family really liked this home and the location! The house has plenty of room to spread out and relax. The bathrooms could use some updating (maybe raise the mirrors a little 😬), and several of the light switches/plugs either didn’t work or were too hard to figure out. And we couldn’t get the fireplace going either as the directions were not clear. All-in-all we enjoyed the property!

Beautiful house. Carpets were filthy. That was very disappointing. Could have used one more spatula, only found one. I won’t rent again.

Good location, nice view of the beach with easy access on a path but a little distance. Nice layout. The kitchen was well stocked. The home is very dated. The beds were comfortable, and away from the living areas. There are stairs and the couches are lower to the ground which were difficult for a person with mobility issues. There are significant stains in the carpet (which appears in previous reviews). Had several other issues. The fireplace inside the home was not working and the one on the deck did not have gas so we had to take the tank from barbeque. The refrigerator was not cooling and the food we placed in there was getting warm, so we called the management company who responded very quickly and sent a person over to work on it and it did start cooling late. The internet and wi-fi went out on Saturday early evening and had not returned when we checked out on Sunday morning.

Gearhart Rental

The view and location were great. The home, however is in very sad shape. I tripped twice on the living rug. Two ends were torn. It should be removed before someone gets hurt. The electrical outlets were very loose. I read in a previous review that the master bath shower faucet came off. It had not been fixed and came off for us. My grandchildren were happy to see bikes. The bikes were not in good shape and could not be ridden.
