About this property
Unforgettable Oceanfront House on Vancouver Island
Welcome to Otter Point House, a one of a kind residence built adjacent to a rocky headland overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Otter Point House sits on over an acre of land with an expansive view of the coastline, the straight of Juan de Fuca, and the snow-capped U.S. Olympic Mountain Range.
***Please note this home is located in a region that is exempt from B.C.'s "short-term rental accommodations legislation" effective May 1, 2024. You can book this home with confidence that the home and reservation is in compliance with the current provincial rules. ***
While living at Otter Point House, you will have a front row seat to the majesty of the west coast. From many viewpoints throughout the house you can see abundant marine life, tranquil sunrises, moonlit waters, and enjoy exhilarating storm watching. Enjoy watching bald eagles perch on the nearly 700 year old Douglas fir trees situated on the property, or watch a pod of Orcas swim by while a seal lies on the nearby rocks.
The Otter Point House is beautifully landscaped in the tradition of the west coast, has direct ocean access via the back of the property, and an enchanting beach cove for your personal enjoyment, as well as private path through old growth rainforest leading to the nearby Otter Point Regional Park.

My family and have many great memories over the years of time spent at Otter Point House. We look forward to sharing this special place with you to make some of your own life long memories
What makes this property unique
There is an abundance of activities to do while staying at the Otter Point House.
Salmon Fishing. Experience the thrill of reeling in a 30 - 40 lb. salmon or battling a giant halibut, weighing in at up to 100+ lbs. Sooke offers some of the best salmon fishing in the world and is also known for its world-class halibut fishing. Many fishing charters are based out of Sooke Harbour Marina. Additionally you can rent fishing equipment in town and fish right of the rocks at Otter Point House. Otter Point Park is immediately adjacent and generally considered the best place to shore fish in the Sooke area.
Whale Watching. Looking for an exhilarating west coast marine adventure? Jump aboard a whale watching marine tour. These tours depart from the Sooke basin and explore the Strait of Juan de Fuca in search of Killer Whales, Porpoises, Gray and Humpback Whales as well as a handful of smaller marine life such as seals, sea lions and various species of birds.
Dining. Though Sooke is a modest size, it punches above its weight for culinary options and offers a variety of dining experiences, from fine dining to pubs and cafes.
Beaches. There are many stunning beaches and parks to be discovered in the Sooke Region including the easy-to-get-to Whiffen Spit but if you would like to go on a bit of an excursion to find something more secluded, try a trip to Botanical Beach, China Beach, French Beach, Sombrio Beach, or Mystic Beach.
Hiking. Some of the best hiking on Vancouver Island can be found in the Sooke Region. Vast networks of trails, some many well marked, some not, can take you on an adventure through the rainforest, beaches or up along Hurricane Ridge and the Kludak trails in the alpine zone. Don’t miss Sooke Potholes Provincial Park, these natural pools are carved into Sooke River’s bedrock.
Biking. Sooke is poised to become the outdoor recreation capital of Vancouver Island- with mountain biking as the prominent jewel in its heavily encrusted crown.
