Paradise Valley Cottage is a stunning three-bedroom country house, an idyllic retreat nestled in the heart of the countryside near Daylesford, with your own private lake right at your doorstep. This lakeside haven offers a blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, making it a perfect getaway for families and friends.

Situated in beautiful countryside at Spring Hill, which is perfectly located right in between the popular tourist destinations of Trentham, Daylesford, and Kyneton (all a short drive).

This bush retreat was purposely built to be a holiday rental, with a lot of thought put into guests’ comfort and creating an experience to remember. Enjoy glorious sunrises and birdsong from the front deck as you sip your morning coffee, or relax with a glass of wine on the back deck as the sun sets behind the lake and bushland. Dawn and dusk are often shared with bird life and kangaroos grazing nearby.

Surrounded by some of Victoria’s best fresh produce, providores, farm gates, wineries, and distilleries to stock up at. Why cook when some of Victoria’s best eateries are down the road in Trentham, such as Du Fermier, The Cosmopolitan Hotel, Pig and Whistle Hotel, Trentham General, and Red Beard Bakery. Or venture to Daylesford or Kyneton for many more incredible dining options.

The Cottage is beautifully furnished and has full kitchen and laundry facilities, making it ideal for longer stays. Your home-away-from-home is 3 bedrooms comfortably sleeping 6 guests: Bedroom 1 with a queen bed and private ensuite, Bedroom 2 with two single beds, Bedroom 3 with a queen bed, plus a modern bathroom servicing Bedrooms 2 & 3. The open plan living area includes a charming wood fireplace that you will be drawn to, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen, large dining table, and relaxed lounge area. This opens up on to the wraparound veranda with outdoor seating to enjoy the views, or stargaze in the evenings.

The lake is great for activities such as fishing, catching yabbies, or kayaking (BYO equipment). If relaxation is what you seek, just sit and enjoy the lake’s calm glassy surface reflecting the surrounding landscape. The bush at the back is great for exploring, or spotting wildlife and birds. The allure of this stunning scenery will be sure to draw you outdoors.

Other features of this self-contained cottage include free Wi-Fi (Starlink), smart TV with Netflix, capsule coffee machine, split system heating and cooling, and electric blankets.

Attractions or activities nearby include Trentham Falls, Lake Daylesford, Hanging Rock, Memorial Cross, Jubilee Lake, Trentham Farmers Market (third Saturday of the month), hiking trails such as Domino Trail, great cycling routes and mountain biking tracks, Trentham Golf Club, day-spas including Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa or The Mineral Spa, yoga, art galleries, renowned gardens, historic buildings, mineral springs, horse trail rides, and so much more.

Some great wineries nearby include Wombat Forest Vineyard, Passing Clouds, Birthday Villa, and Zig Zag Wines. For cider and beer check out Daylesford Cider Company, Holgate Brewhouse in Woodend, or Daylesford Brewing Co. For gin distilleries visit Hepburn Distillery, Big Tree Gin, Animus, and Mountain Distilling (also do whisky).

Pet friendly for small house trained and well behaved dogs ($25 per pet, max 2 pets). This property is not fenced so won't suit all dogs. No heavy shedding breeds.

Minimum 2-nights. Long weekends, public holidays, and peak periods minimum 3-nights. Christmas and Easter minimum 4-nights.

Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 10am.

Rate is for 6 guests. Extra couch-surfers are an additional $25 per night for kids only on a fold out couch, up to 2 extras only (maximum 8 guests total).

No parties, schoolies groups, 18th, 21st, hens, bucks, or other all-male groups.

*Tax applied to the booking is the Victorian state government’s new Short Stay Levy, charged on Holiday Rental properties.
Children must be supervised at all times, as the lake is unfenced and only metres away from the cottage. As such this property may not suit all families.
Leave the property clean on departure, close to the way you found it as is standard with most holiday rentals (dishes, benches, rubbish, etc).
Please respect neighbours - no parties, no music outside, no additional sound equipment (DJ, PA etc), no noise after 10pm.
Complaint calls from neighbours incurs fees and may result in eviction. After hours call outs due to avoidable incidents caused by guests incur fees.
Pets by prior request only ($25 pet fee). Guests responsible for any damage or clean-up, see Pet Policy in House Rules. Small house-trained pets only.

Idyllic country getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with the family and the dogs. Waking up every morning to a mob of kangaroos was a special treat that the kids loved.The fishing was lots of fun, between the redfin, yabbies and frogs the family enjoyed experiencing all the venue had to offer.Very comfortable and spacious, and a great location to explore the region. Highly recommend this property in such a quiet location with everything you need to relax.

We wished we had time to stay more. House is very clean with everything you need i think either recently renovated or built.. Yap no mobile receptio but wireless availble.

Wow.

Cannot begin to explain how beautiful this property was. Just as described. My family and I loved every inch of this property. We also caught a few redfin in the lake which was a bonus. Chris was great to deal with and the owner Kath was beautiful and kind. We will definitely be returning. Perfect first family getaway!

Peaceful family getaway

Had a great family getaway at Paradise Valley Cottage. Sparkling clean, new and fresh with lots of room for our 6 adults to enjoy a quiet and relaxing break from the city. Chris, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful. Overall, a great spot for our adult family to reconnect and recharge in comfort.
