This home had everything we needed! It is well stocked, has very comfortable beds, and everything is clean and updated. It is also lovely and quiet, and a super convenient location.The host responds quickly for questions as well.Thank you for 2 great stays there!
This small home with 2 big bedrooms was just perfect for my daughter and I to stay at. Everything worked well and parking was easy and the beds were Very comfortable!
We choose this cottage bcoz it was 8mts drive to the University of Alberta. It was worth choosing beautiful cottage and neatly kept. I would prefer mirrors to add-on in each room.

Falls short…
Day 1…I hear noise in basement. Find out there is a “tenant” down there. Scary. I thought I was going to have entire home by myself. Day 2…car gets broken into on street. I guess it’s a regular happening in EDM. Day 3…tenant gets evicted but she’s not happy. Never got a peaceful nights rest for my entire 7 days. Owner swings by and fixes multiple things in the house that needed attention. Was kind enough to bring by corkscrew and some cookie sheets and frying pans. Is doing his best to fix broken back door. I wasn’t feeling safe here until he put and extra lock on door. Everything else was good. Bed comfortable. It was clean. Crisp sheets, etc. Final Day…tenancy leaves but banging around from 5 am, Sunday, my only day to sleep in. I felt very isolated because I didn’t want to get involved.Asked Owner to split the week with me and he says because the tenant never paid her final rent, he could only credit me 50. Felt that was a slap in the face considering all the inconveniences of the week. Will go to VRBO to see if I can get more accurate of refund. If Owner was forthcoming in the beginning that I had trolls in the basement I would have made another choice. Hope you have better luck.

The unit in question includes a separate basement suite. Upon receiving a complaint from the guest regarding the basement tenant, I conducted an investigation and subsequently proceeded with an eviction. Please note that since the tenant has vacated the space, it is now empty; therefore, the listing description remains unchanged (I have also notified vrbo with evidence that the basement tenant has been evicted)
The guest also reported that her car was broken into; however, she confirmed that nothing was stolen, which I found unusual. It is important to note that the listing clearly states that free parking is available on the street, and no similar complaints have been recorded since the unit became available.
Regarding safety concerns, the guest expressed that the existing door lock was inadequate. In response, I purchased and installed an additional lock to enhance her sense of security. I have made every effort to address all of the guest’s concerns in a timely and reasonable manner, despite her continued dissatisfaction.
Finally, the guest requested a refund of more than 50% of the booking value prior to submitting her review. I did not agree to this, as I perceived it as an attempt to exert undue pressure. I believe it is more appropriate to allow the facts of the stay to speak for themselves rather than engage in transactions that might be construed as incentivizing a favorable review.
The house does not have one single fire/smoke detector and there is no fire extinguisher at the house. I do not believe that is legal for occupancy.
The house was not very clean with smudges, dirt and stains on tables, countertops, nightstands and floor. The renovation is not complete or of any quality. There are many unfinished areas. The washer and dryer are in the fridge opening in the kitchen (not in photos) behind which there is exposed wiring. The flooring is unbelievable. Whomever installed the new laminate flooring did nothing to address the squeaky floors, so every step you take is a squeaky annoyance.
There is a serious lack of plugs in the house as it has not been updated from the original 50's design.
There is a full time renter in the basement with a small child that are not to quite and there is obviously no sound deadening in the squeaky floors. I pity them living in such a noisy environment.
Needless to say, I will not be returning or recommending this unit to anyone. It is up to the owner to rectify all the issues and I would strongly advise staying away until it is clear the work has been done and the house is LEGAL and enjoyable.
