## Emplacement
Bordering Paris, Arcueil is a commune in the Val-de-Marne department of the Île-de-France region, around 15 km from Créteil. Arcueil is also part of the Metropole du Grand Paris, which comprises 130 communes, including all those of the Petite Couronne and 7 communes of the Grande Couronne.crossed by the Bièvre river, Arcueil also belongs to the Communauté de Communes du Val de Bièvre, with the communes of Cachan, Fresnes, Gentilly, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, L'Haÿ-les-Roses and Villejuif. The town boasts a rich historical heritage, as evidenced by the aqueduct bridges of Arcueil and Cachan, the first of which, the Lutetia aqueduct, was built in Gallo-Roman times in the late 2nd and early 3rd centuries, the Maison des Gardes and the Church of Saint-Denys. The town also boasts a number of other must-see buildings, including the Perret chapel, the Maison Raspail and the former town hall, now the Centre Marius Sidobre, all of which are protected as Monuments Historiques.
