True North is a tranquil retreat on the banks of the Russian River, designed for guests to relax and recalibrate. This two-story home offers an unforgettable experience with a deck perched among the redwoods, direct river access, a hot tub, and seasonal equipment including two kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard (available May–October, weather permitting).

Ideally located, the property overlooks the river and Northwood Golf Course. Guests can swim and kayak directly from the riverbank, dine in Guerneville (three miles away), or explore Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve (five miles away). The home is also perfectly situated for Russian River Valley wine tasting and scenic drives to the Sonoma Coast.

The interior features an open layout with generous windows and a well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living room includes a woodstove and entertainment options via cable, DVD, or streaming, while a designated playroom provides additional space.

Sleeping accommodations include:

- Primary Suite (Main Level): Features a dedicated workspace with complimentary WiFi, a luxury spa-inspired ensuite bath, and direct access to the hot tub.
- Second Bedroom (Upper Level): Features a queen bed and direct access to a porch overlooking the golf course, located across from a full bathroom.
- Third Bedroom (Upper Level): A vibrant room equipped with a queen bed and a twin bunk bed, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.

We rented the house for the weekend, six ladies. One of us had a blowup mattress in the little playroom. We were able to fit everybody comfortably. The kitchen, living area is great for gathering, a spot for all. Back deck has a nice view of the river i would stay Here again.

Location and layout was GREAT! Many of the serving dishes, etc. were chipped and the poor house needs a decent set of knives! Would have also liked a fresher, bed situation with newer linens and comforter. You just can’t get away with grandma’s pillow pillows and throws anymore. Property owners need to step it up.

I know that you had expressed disappointment on the phone when asking about using the boats, a primary reason for you choosing to rent with us. After going over the multiple marketing materials both on the internet and directly provided via email, it was agreed upon that they were listed as generally not available until mid-May due to water flow velocity. At that time, you had mentioned it would be nice for a new bedspread and we agreed, noting that one had been ordered but was not available until after delivery and laundering. We did take a good look at the knives and agree; it's time for replacements. Thank you for pointing that out. We value our guests feedback very much. The house overall is very lovely! The deck and the access to the river right outside was what drew us to the property. It is a steep climb to get down to the river so be careful if it’s muddy as we slipped a few times. The carpets could use a freshening up. Maybe a dog had just stayed in the house? The living room and primary bedroom had a musty mildew/dog smell which was a little bothersome to some of us. The hot tub was lovely for the few colder days we had during our stay.

Our pathway to the river changes each river after the river settles and is not generally suggested for use until late April/early May, but, from the looks of your pictures, you all made it down there. It may be worth adding a rope handrail towards the bottom portion. This is a first mentioning of the carpets seeming musty, however with the rains this season, it is close to carpet cleaning time. We had just painted the interior of the atrium door and resurfaced part of the kitchen wall and cutting board, wondering if that may have contributed to the experience in a negative way (we hope not). We hope you next visit will be in warmer weather. We appreciate you choosing True North.

Perfect location and great for families

We had a wonderful stay at True North! Walkable to a couple food spots and easy drive to Guerneville. Right on the river, easy access for a dip! And lovely deck with sunshine, a redwood, and river views.

Naomi was very responsive to our few inquiries. There was an issue with the hot tub which was addressed immediately. Lovely location for playing in the river and using as a base before adventuring. Managing a riverfront home on the North Wood Golf Course with private Russian River access is rare. I grew up across the highway from this home and spent much of my childhood searching for lost golf balls to turn into the pro-shop for pocket change. This is a quiet neighborhood that shares its location with only the lucky ones. Once you have stayed here, you will be daydreaming of your next visit.

This home is well planned, maintained with intention and happiness, and owned by a friendly family that enjoys sharing it with others. They love spending summertime along the river and evenings around the wood burning stove. Cozy and modern all at once, sleeping 8 with spacious accommodations, True North is fabulous.
