Black Swan- Well-kept Intown Home with Ocean Views

Black Swan is a beautifully maintained, in-town Stonington home offering panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding thoroughfare. From the comfort of the home or spacious ocean-view deck, enjoy the ever-changing scenery of Maine’s working waterfront as lobster boats, sailboats, schooners, and other vessels make their way through the harbor.

This bright and airy ranch-style home offers convenient single-level living, with all bedrooms and living spaces located on one easy-to-navigate floor. A full wall of windows fills the main living area with natural light while showcasing wonderful views of Stonington Harbor.

The open-concept living space includes a large, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and formal dining space. The living room is furnished with a sofa and two chairs, creating a relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring the island. While there is no television at Black Swan, high-speed internet is provided, making it easy to stream your favorite shows or stay connected during your stay. The dining area comfortably seats six and features beautiful harbor views.

A lovely fireplace adds warmth and character to the living space; however, please note that it is decorative only and is not available for guest use.

Black Swan features three bedrooms and two bathrooms:

The first bedroom has one twin bed, a closet, and a dresser.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, a closet, and a dresser.
The primary suite features a king bed and its own private bathroom.

Outside, the large ocean-view deck is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, relax with a good book, or simply watch the activity on the water. A gas grill is also provided for guests who would like to enjoy outdoor meals during their stay.

The home includes a dedicated laundry room with a washer and dryer, as well as plenty of convenient parking for guests.

With its spacious layout, beautiful harbor views, convenient village location, and comfortable amenities, Black Swan is a wonderful home base for experiencing Stonington and all that Deer Isle has to offer.

Such a nostalgic, comforting and panoramic setting. Black Swan makes me so happy!

This is, I believe, my ninth time at the Black Swan, and since Stonington is my home town, having a wonderful place to stay brings back so many fond memories. The spaciousness is perfect for family gatherings with the living room and dining area all open to the majestic view of Penobscot Bay. There are many special amenities, also, that make for easy housekeeping during our week’s stay.

The photos for the house don’t do it justice. It is expansive and comfortable and the south-facing water view is unbeatable! We enjoyed our family of four (two adult daughters) with plenty of room and comfortable furniture to spread out. It’s very solid, clean, and well-appointed. The active lobster/fishing dock and yard below is wonderful to watch and the.changing light is spectacular. The bedrooms are on the north side of the house, so you don’t hear the lobster boats underway starting at 3;30am like you do from other Stonington houses. Friendly, welcoming nfo about the owners and family history make you feel like a guest, not a renter. A great place to stay!

Beautiful Stay w/ Lovely Views Near Town

My sister and I had a great stay at the Black Swan! It was convenient to wake up and be able to pop into town for a coffee or breakfast and head back to the spot for the spectacular views. The place had everything we needed. Would stay again!

The Black Swan—- Comfort, cleanliness, walking distance to town, and glorious views of Penobscot Bay all at my fingertips.

.The Black Swan offers me so much as it has become “my home away from home.” Having grown up in Stonington, the ability to walk downtown, entertain family members in the home’s spaciousness and view a working waterfront on Penobscot Bay is better than a five star hotel. Clearly the owners take pride in providing comfort for clients. For eight years, during my week’s stay, there is always something new added to the Black Swan’s decor which adds to its charm. Recently a new roof, window blinds and fresh deck paint were evident that this home is truly cared for. Many amenities are provided and one just needs to stock the refrigerator as all appliances work well, and the furniture is tastefully arranged for entertaining, if one wishes to do so. The deck furniture beckons one to grab a book among those on the shelves or just daydream while viewing the islands in the bay. The open-ness of the kitchen, dining room and living room has been ideal for our family pot-luck dinners. This home clearly meets all of my needs.

HOUSE RULES
NO SMOKING! No large parties or gatherings! No fire pits unless advertised and included.

CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellations must be in writing (email is acceptable) and received by the Agent. Cancellations may only be made between the date that a reservation deposit is received and a date determined to be 45 days prior to the Guests’ scheduled arrival date. Cancellations within 45 days of arrival will not result in a refund in whole or part of rental funds received. If a cancellation is made prior to 45 days of arrival, the Agent shall make a good-faith effort to re-rent the property at the published rate for the reserved rental term. No refund of rents paid will be made until the cancelled period is re-rented and confirmed. If the cancelled period is re-rented, any rent and taxes paid will be refunded less a $100 administrative fee. If the new rental amount is less than the published rate, any difference in rental rate will be deducted from the rental returned to the tenant. If the unit is not re-rented, all rental funds paid, processing fees and taxes shall be forfeited as damages.
This cancellation policy is strictly followed. Guests are encouraged to purchase travel insurance for all vacations to cover many situations that may arise which might cause one to cancel vacation plans. Life happens and we don’t want you to lose your deposit. There are many independent insurance providers available to tenants. I understand that the insurance company holds this policy and that The Island Agency does not determine eligibility of claims.
