The chalet was good for a couple with young children.
The chalet was good for a couple with young children. Close to Filey. The Haven site was typically less than welcoming to private renters. The playgrounds weren't the best, and weren't sufficient for the volume of visitors. The mini market was great and made self catering easy. The food that could be purchased at the outlets was expensive, papa johns did good chicken dish and good pizza, the fish and chips were appalling, the chips, I suspect a visit from environmental health would shut them down. The chips were inedible, some looked as though they had been cooked many times over, made from rotten potatoes. The fish was in soggy batter, eating in the cafe area wasn't possible, the tables and chairs were always dirty with left over food, the floor was covered in spillages, it's a shame because the site could offer so much.

this was one of the best holiday chalets you could wish to stay in, it is compact but has everything
that you need, extremely clean, beds are very comfortable.
the owners were there on arrival and talked you through everything you needed to know.
the only thing I found was that the toilet door should open outwards as you have trouble
shutting door and instead of the chair in the main bedroom you could do with a 4 draw cabinet
to keep underclothes in.

We had a brilliant week's holiday at Jasmine Cottage (2 adults and 2 children aged 1 and 3).
We had a brilliant week's holiday at Jasmine Cottage (2 adults and 2 children aged 1 and 3).
The location was ideal; the cottage is down a quiet lane at Haven Blue Dolphin, a great family friendly site (tickets to use facilities at small additional price but well worth purchasing). There was a great soft play, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, water slide, numerous food outlets/restaurants, arcade and daily entertainment.
The cottage is in a quiet single row of similar cottages, right beside the Caravan Sales entrance, as this road is a dead end there were very few people going by. Yet its only two minutes walk from the main facilities. It was comfortable, newly refurbished, well equipped and clean. Towels and bedding were provided. Accommodation consists of a double room with wardrobes and second bedroom with bunk beds and an extra single bed sleeping 3 with a set of drawers and hanging space. The newly updated bathroom had large cupboards, a stylish long sink and shower with plenty of hot water. Hair dryer, iron and laundry drying rack provided.
The kitchen was home from home with everything you could need for cooking family meals. The immaculate electric cooker and hob was very effective, heating up quickly. A microwave was also provided.
The living room had a full size fold down table, which we kept up. We loved relaxing on the enormous comfy new leather corner sofa, with reclining end seats.
Outside is a picnic table and patio. There is a private driveway leading to the door with space for two cars. The views are stunning from the rear of the property to open fields and the moors in the distance.
Filey is a 5 minute drive, Scarborough 15 minutes and Whitby 45 minutes. There are regular buses going by the site to all local attractions.
We had a very nice stay and would happily return to this house and site again.
