Fabulous house in the heart of the Dordogne
We had a fantastic week at Sol du Mazel which is located along a small road about 10 - 15 minutes walk west of St Pompom. This very pretty village has a boulangerie and small supermarket as well as a restaurant. You are also just a short drive away from Daglan and Domme
The house has a fabulous pool which was a very comfortable temperature and is surrounded by wonderful lawns for football or badminton There is also a wendy house, castles and trampolines and table tennis to keep all ages occupied. The house is fabulously quiet - a real escape for city dwellers.
We found some lovely bike rides that start and finish at the house including a nice route down into St Pompom, past eth supermarket then north west along the D60 and then turning back via Duriat Jean Paul. A large part of the D60 can be avoided by using the Chem to Tramway. For the keener cyclist there is a lovely route via Daglan to Castlenaud la Chapelle, Domme and then back round to St Pompom via Daglan. We would recommend Domme for trip as well as Les Jardins de Marqueyssac.
We are a family with teenaged kids and we loved the house but it would also be the ideal house for two families to visit together. We were only there for a week but wished that we could have stayed longer!
