Beautiful lakeside villa

We were on the Lecco branch of Lake Como. Beautiful and quiet. Walked to the market and to a great little restaurant. Easy ferry ride from Vassena to Bellagio. We did have a car and driver recommended by our host - Silvio- he was fabulous. So we did book one tour of the lake, the villas, and Bellagio. We were most happy to enjoy the villa.

Incredible Views and Private Villa on Lake Como

My husband and I were absolutely blown away by the location of this property and really the views of the lake which are quite breath taking. The villa sits directly on the edges of the lake and is quite well appointed. The house comfortably sleeps 6, but it was just the two of us. We rented a car which made it easy to commute to neighboring towns. Giuseppe is very communicative and made sure we were comfortable for our entire stay. He provided excellent recommendations for local transportation (such as boat taxis and tours) as well as local dining and other activities. The Vassena ferry port is located a short 4-5 minute walk from the house which made accessing the boats very easy. We are at the local restaurant El Molo 5 one evening and loved it - highly recommend. We plan to visit the Villa again with bigger group in the future. This place is an absolute gem.

Four of us stayed a week at this wonderful property in Vassena. It was the perfect size for our group, and was located just a few minutes drive to Bellagio. A small grocery store is a short walk down the street, as is one of the ferry ports. The villa was well appointed. And we had use of the garage for parking our vehicle.The views were simply stunning both early morning and late afternoon. The host was very reachable and responded quickly to every message we sent. We would definitely stay at this property again when we go back to Lake Como.

Beautiful Lakeside Retreat

My wife and I rented Giuseppe’s property with another couple during our time in Italy and it was by far the highlight of our trip. The home is beautiful right from the start as you pull in off the street through a Jasmine covered gate and approach the front door through a quaint walkway lined with old vines and flowers. Inside the house was well appointed and spotless. What we did not realize is the upstairs actually has three bedrooms, 2 with king sized beds and balconies over looking the water, and one with two twins. Another room in the basement also has a king and patio. The back porch was breathtaking with its seamless transition to the lake and amazing views. There were cherry trees hanging over the yard at peak ripeness which made for a wonderful snack after taking a dip in the lake or touring in the provided kayaks. Giuseppe was kind, attentive, and provided numerous recommendations. Are personal favorites were a morning cappuccino at Vassena Cafe with the barista Wendy and dinner at Al Molo, all within easy walking distance (<5min) and with beautiful views of the lake. This is a quieter side of the lake, with less bustle than the more western tip of the Y. However, Bellagio is only a 10min drive (careful, the roads are quite narrow and can by nerve wracking for American drivers) and from there it’s easy to navigate to more popular towns. For us, Vassena provided a quiet and peaceful haven from which to take day trips or just enjoy being out on the lake. Book this place if you can!
