Barn Stay on Working Farm in VA Wine Country, 30 min from UVA
Woodhaven Farm is a beautiful 250-acre working farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 26 miles south of Charlottesville near Scottsville, VA.
Woodhaven Farm is a working farm producing 100% grass-fed beef. Surrounded by rolling meadows and woodlands, the farm is quiet and wonderfully isolated yet close to many of the attractions that make Virginia a desirable place to visit. Stay on the farm and enjoy hiking, canoeing/kayaking on the James River; use the farm as base to explore historic Scottsville, the Appalachian Trail, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia wine country or delve into America's history at Revolutionary and Civil War battle sites. The homes of three early American presidents, Jefferson, Monroe and Madison, are within an easy hour's drive.
There are five cottages available for rental at the farm. The Barn is a light-filled, two-bedroom apartment above the barn. There's a large great room and kitchen for gathering with great views in all directions. Lie in the master bed and watch the sun rise over the pond. Enjoy a glass of wine on the back deck watching the sun set. There's also a game room with pool table, arcade and ping pong table in a room below.
The Carriage House is an immaculate, quaint and cozy cottage, beautifully furnished with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a fully-equipped kitchen and a view of the Blue Ridge.
The Grain Shed is a completely restored 150-year old grain shed with a bedroom loft, kitchen and living area.
Enjoy your cup of coffee in The Old Peddler's House, a tastefully restored 1880s farmhouse, or The Guesthouse, a 4-bedroom log home with a 10 foot dining room table and large great room where your entire family can gather. From every home, you can explore trails that wander through the woods and along the creeks where there are quiet spots to sit, read or just be still.
