Beautiful cottage in a great location. Accommodation was brilliant and had everything you could need. Perfect location, a short drive to Whitby and some lovely local walks as well
Absolutely wonderful cottage, furniture and decor very tastefully done, lovely and peaceful location, we couldn’t have found anywhere nicer if we had tried.
We loved everything about this cottage, clean, everything you need for a short stay we had or a longer stay, we were very impressed, decor, furniture, facilities etc and would definitely stay here again! Only 5 minutes drive into Whitby, ideal location, beautiful setting, outside was just as nice as inside, it's the kind of place we could quite happily live there now I have recently retired !
Very lovely location, with a lovely clean property, with easy access to Whitby by car or busThey are pet friendly, but the guide provided on arrival said that the pets couldn’t be left unattended, which did effect our plansAlso the upstairs was a bit cramped and we were required to crouch when navigating the bedroom and bathroom

Not being able to leave your pet unattended is the norm in a holiday cottage presented to the high standard we offer. Clearly the realisation of not being able to do so has influenced his review. He could have asked when he booked but did not. I would advise anyone to ask this when booking a dog friendly holiday cottage of any standard.
We chose Whitby as my husband loves watching Bangers & Cash which is filmed in nearby Thornton le Dale. What a beautiful area ! Our cottage was perfect , we felt at home on arrival.
We explored Whitby, Robin Hood Bay and Scarborough. We highly recommend staying here !
Had a wonderful time away in lovely Yorkshire. The cottage was perfect for us and our 2 dogs, and Robert and Julie couldn’t have been more helpful. The cottage was spotless with everything we needed, and Sleights is a great little village with an amazing butchers, great chip shop and useful Spar shop. Thanks
We had a wonderful stay (5 nights) at Ralph’s cottage which was immaculate and in a great location for exploring Whitby and the local area. Also great for our dogs with a fully secure garden and a larger area (field!) for exercise. We shall be returning and will be recommending to family and friends.
Thank you Robert and Julie!
Host welcoming. We visited in November but no kindling or logs for the fire. Bathroom would benefit from Shaver/make up mirror and hand towel hook. Extremely comfy bed and quality bedding though getting round to the left hand side of the bed is problematic. Nice enclosed garden for the dog, and kitchen sufficiently equipped.
Yes the kitchen was fully equipped but we felt that there was a lack for instructions for the induction hob! I have used plenty of them before but we could not turn it on at all. The television was also quite awkward too and went off during a film we were watching snd took some time to get it back again The hosts were friendly and didn’t mind our dogs being there. The bed was very comfortable but we found the low ceiling a bit of a challenge. The views from the garden were lovely and it was peaceful and quiet and just what we needed for 2 nights away

Well, this may come as a surprise but the kitchen does not have an induction hob. As we spent around 25 minutes chatting to these people whilst they were sat in the garden enjoying the atmosphere here, why did they not mention the hob to us as we would kindly have showed them the on/off switch. The instruction for the hob are in the right hand drawer next to the hob.
Highly recommend Mr Ralph’s. Immaculately clean and tidy, luxurious soft furnishings and linens. Lovely walks from cottage, the car was parked all weekend. Excellent local butcher and baker too.
beautiful little cottage in an ideal setting and location, really enjoyed getting away for a quiet few days, ideally located for visists to coastal villages, very enjoyable
Lovely accommodation, everything you would need, private and secure parking, nice host, great location, short drive to Whitby and Robin Hood, or park at Hawsker and 3 mile walk to both.
We had a lovely long weekend here at mr Ralph’s cottage. The cottage provided us with everything we needed and the area was so peaceful with a short distance from Whitby. The cottage is decorated to a very high standard with everything you need. So comfortable and relaxing. The dog had a secure area in the garden to sniff and watch the birds. Thank you to Mr and mrs Milnes for an lovely warm welcome and slowing us to stay in their outstanding accommodation.
Usually there is something just not quite right with a holiday cottage. NOT in this case! A beautifully clean and furnished property, owned by a couple who obviously care about excellence.
Mr Ralph’s Cottage is everything described in the property details. It is a very comfortable and furnished with top quality furniture and fittings. Situated on the edge of the village with a lovely rural outlook ensures a restful break. The owners live onsite and certainly “go the extra mile” to ensure we had a good holiday. We would certainly return when we next visit Yorkshire.
We have just spent a week in Mr Ralphs Cottage. The cottage is perfect, beautiful kitchen and all tastefully decorated. We took our dog with us and it was home from home for him. Enclosed and secure garden and a space for him to have a run chasing his ball.
The bed is so comfortable and shower is brilliant. It is so conveniently situated for easy access to Whitby and all the beautiful spots on the east coast as well as the Yorkshire countryside.
Robert and Julie the hosts are so welcoming and available at anytime if there is an issue. We can’t wait to visit again and try the log fire.
Thank you Robert and Julie.
Mr Ralphs cottage is part of a group of cottages perfectly located for exploring Whitby and further afield into the moors.
Well equipped and spotless. Will definitely go back there as other guests have been doing for years.
