Really liked the place. Great hosts and a beautiful patch of land shared by a few wee cottages. I especially liked the giant bath in the one we stayed in. The cottage has parking and is a very short drive away from either a park and ride or the train station to get into Whitby. Very peaceful and refreshing stay. Would book again when visiting Whitby and the surrounding environs.
Property was cosy with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Owners really helpful with local information etc.
Property quiet which is exactly what we wanted.
The accommodation was truly amazing, not many properties are as described, The Coach House is truly magnificent. From booking to going the experience has been seamless. This hidden gem far exceeded my expectations, there are enough amenities locally if you don’t wish to travel into Whitby.
Beautiful area, very quiet, and only minutes away from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.The coach house is furnished to a very high standard with all the facilities you could possibly need.Robert and Julie were very welcoming and superb hosts. We will definitely be staying again in the future.
What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL property. From interiors to location, this property is absolutely gorgeous. Robert and Julie are wonderful hosts and so helpful too. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this romantic cottage and can’t wait to return.
This is a beautiful place to stay and we loved the unique layout of the place. very quiet, peaceful, and a great Basecamp for our time spent in Whitby. our hosts were super friendly and communicative. thank you for being part of our memories!
We went for a short break on Bank Holiday weekend with our 4 dogs and had 2 very comfortable nights stay in the Coach House.
Robert and Julie were excellent hosts.
The property was immaculate and very well kitted out with everything we could need for our stay.
We will be returning again and would highly recommend
My husband and I had an amazing stay. The place is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was easy to find and the owners communicated ahead of time to save any stress.
Lovely small, clean cottage just 10 mins drive out of Whitby. Very cosy, the cottage was very warm throughout which helped on a very wet & cold November weekend. Hosts were available & very friendly, recommended the local fish & chips which we tried. A very relaxing break
Beautiful property located in a beautiful part of the country. Robert and Julie were lovely and could not have been more welcoming or friendly. A great week.
Robert and Julie are fantastic hosts who gave us a warm welcome and communicated really well with us up to and during our stay. The Coachhouse is a hidden gem in Iburndale just outside Whitby, so peaceful and a well appointed, dog friendly cottage. We will definately visit again!
We had an excellent time in the coach house! It is a lovely cottage. Julie and Robert are such friendly people, we had lovely talks with them. Although it is a long trip from the Netherlands to Whitby, we sure hope to come back one day.
Excellent stay - photos do not do the property justice. Everything was to hand and immaculately clean. There are a number of deluxe additions - Bose sound system for the tv and Ive Delorme towels, amongst the features of the property. The property is ideally situated.I will definitely be staying again and will recommend it to my friends.
We arrived for the weekend at ghe Coach House and its a stunning cottage, everything it states in the description. The small complex is neat and tidy too.
Back to the Coach House, its quirky and quaint and has everything you need for a peaceful stay.
The local walks along the river were great for the dog and us.
The local amenities are at the top of the bank and cater all needs, food from the chip shop was great.
I would recommend The Coach House to anyone who was peace and quiet.
It is set in idyllic Yorkshire Moors countryside.
The village has a fish and chip takeaway/eat in which provides superb meal. Also artisan butcher and baker shops and Spar grocery which has almost everything you might need on holiday.
The cottage itself is just lovely and as described on the website beautifully furnished and decorated.
Robert and Julie spent time talking to us and we left feeling we had new friends who we will visit again.

We really enjoyed having this couple stay with us and are very much looking forward to them returning sometime.
Its a great place - Everything was immaculate, the furnishings all of a high standard and really well presented.
Outside the entrance there was a small fenced area we could let our dog out onto, with a great grass field a few metres away which the dog absolutely loved!
Its ideally situated, and close to all the must-see places - a matter of minutes away.
Robert & Julie, the owners were great too - really friendly, advising us of the best pubs in the area and also put out a couple of deckchairs in the top field for us to use on an evening.
A lovely little place, well recommend to anyone. We really wish we could have stayed longer!
The Coach house is a superb cottage and the photos don’t do it justice as it is so lovely. Beautifully decorated with high end bathroom /shower and kitchen as well as a really comfortable bed. Everything you need is in the well equipped kitchen. There are loads of walks to do and the guide folder was very comprehensive for all sorts of activities to do. It was actually blissful just reading our books in the very comfortable chairs during Storm Babet on the Friday ! We will very much look forward to a return visit.
We just wanted to say a huge thank you! We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Coach House. Your choice of decor and the building itself is truly wonderful. The soundings are beautiful and simply sat in the courtyard on our first evening with a book from your great selection was simply perfect.
The bottle of wine you left was gratefully accepted and was a lovely gesture, thank you. It certainly went down well with our dinner on our first evening. The rain didn’t put us off yesterday, we braved it to try the fish and chip shop at the top and we was not disappointed.
We will highly recommend The Coach House and yourselves as hosts, 10/10 for everything!
Robert and Julie greeted us on our arrival and showed us around the property. It was spotlessly clean, with such attention to detail paid to all the fixtures and fittings. The bed is extremely comfortable and spacious. A very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Parking on site and the Coach House has a secure outside seating area, which was part of the reason we chose the property as we had our dog with us. An amazing dog shower on-site for use by all residents, which was ideal after a trip to the beach or to cool down after a walk. You can go on walks from the property with is situated within in easy reach of beautiful coastal and inland places to visit. The village of Sleights has a village shop, baker, butcher and an amazing fish and chip restaurant which is well worth a visit! We couldn't fault the property or the lovely hosts who made us feel so welcome. Thank you both.We hope to return again one day.
We stayed at the Coach House in October 2022. The property is ideally located for exploring Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and the moors. The photographs of the property do not do the Coach House justice. The quality of the furnishings are beyond expectations. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare food and the fabulous dining table and chairs make for really enjoyable meal times. The shower is second to none and the bed is super comfy. The WiFi is very good and the television allows for relaxing evenings after a long day out. We whole heartedly recommend this amazing property and we would like to thank Robert and Julie for a really relaxing stay.
