We watched the sunset at Sumter landing. The house was stocked with everything you need to cook a nice meal. Would book here again.

House was great! Plenty of space, best stocked kitchen I’ve ever had in a vacation rental, clean, comfy beds and lovely neighbors. The golf cart was great too and the location is fantastically close to Sumpter Square and all of its restaurants and shopping. We struggled to find the family pools we had access too. Where they were, how to access them etc. Didn’t help that high temps were in the low 50s. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect spot

This home was perfectly laid out for 4 of us to stay comfortably. Plenty of comfy seating and the kitchen was very well stocked. The location close to the square at Sumpter Landing was great. Plenty of restaurants and fun bands/dancing. Having a golf cart made it so easy to zip to the local pool and also to get to rec centers. I would definitely recommend this home!!

Amenities were in good condition. Generous supplies on hand was a wonderful bonus. Sadly, someone put dirty dishes away, i mean not even hand washed. The location was also great to Lake Sumter. The neighborhood was very quiet. The golf cart was a rough ride and the seatbelts need to be reachable. We had to help each other buckle. A 100. replacement would go a long way to making it approachable for seniors.

Great House, Great Location!

The house was very well appointed, very clean, and very spacious. Yard was spacious and private. Highly recommended. Communication with management was very good. The golf cart and bicycles appeared to be well maintained. It's less than a ten minute walk to Lake Sumter Landing. When deciding on activities, keep in mind requesting golf tee times is four days out and not guaranteed. Also, some activities require safety classes before you can participate and classes are not scheduled weekly. Overall this property location is great for discovering the Villages.

Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay and it was wonderful to be so close to the square so we could take the golf cart or walk to entertainment and restaurants. The security deposit of $1500 is ridiculous and Down Home keeps your money from the time you make the reservation until 2 weeks after you depart. I still haven't received my security deposit back and it's been over 2 weeks since we departed. I won't rent from Down Home again.

Perfect home in a perfect location

My wife and I were family in The Villages for Thanksgiving. This house give us plenty of room to spread out and work early in the week, then have a place of our own to return to each night during the Thanksgiving holiday. The place was immaculate and well appointed and its location near Sumter Landing was great. We loved having coffee and breakfast on the screened in patio. We whouldn't hesitate to rent this house again. It is exactly as described.

You wont beat the location to the square which I took a daily walk to each morning at 6:00 am for coffee and a newspaper. Can't wait to book it again.

But, as the lockdown of various options became more and more restricted, our enthusiasm waned. We understood the reasons (except the universal closing of neighborhood pools), but the vacation was definitely impaired by the restrictions. Saving grace of great weather and (for one of us) golf courses.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were delighted with every aspect of this house. It is in a perfect, quiet location but a few minutes' walk of Lake Sumter Landing. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful, simple but stylish decor and high quality furniture. There are so many things that we loved so I shall list them, in no particular order: huge, comfortable bed in master bedroom; quality bed linen and towels (and plenty of them) ;quality and quantity of crockery and cutlery; great, easy to control barbecue; good size and quality laundry and dishwashing facitlies; well maintained golf cart and as new bikes; big lanai; huge televisions in lounge and master bedroom; quality dining furniture and ample placemats; provision of some basics such as toilet rolls, tissues, hand wash, salt, pepper, etc. all contributed to my general satisfaction with this house.It really was a home from home experience where we felt very relaxed throughout our month long stay. The heating and air conditioning were very effective as was the fan in the master bedroom which worked well with NO noise! The garden is big enough and with the right orientation to get sun all day, even in November and December so it was lovely to have morning coffee in the sun then know that we could have an evening drink also in the sun, prior to lighting the BBQ. Perfect! The garden would benefit from having at least one more reclining chair, however, especially if there are more people in residence. We were just two so it wasn't a problem. There is nothing else I could improve and we are already looking into rental next year.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very nice home with a modern decor. It was well equipped but needed cleaning supplies and spare light bulbs. Several light bulbs were burned out but Down Home replaced those quickly. The carpets also need cleaning. All in all a nice stay.
