Really lovely!

Really lovely property! Very clean and lovely space. Location is perfect for visiting Whitby, and the street has lovely shops, bar/pubs and breakfast place! Would recommend! The car park near by was also free during certain months (October to March I believe) which is useful to know! Prompt replies from hosts!

It was a lovely decorated cottage, small but nicely done. Location was handy - very central. No views but we knew that and no parking which we also knew and there was a car park very handy to us which still had spaces on a bank holiday weekend so no problems there. The one thing that marred it for us a little was the cleanliness of the cottage - it wasn't terrible but it wasn't perfect either. Things like: previous guests dried toothpaste spit on the splashback in the en-suite, marks on the mirror in the bedroom, dusty bedside tables, lamps and headboard, inside fridge door wasn't clean, brown water in the mugs in the cupboards and crockery generally wet, dirty oven gloves with crumbs inside and the blanket in the living room had a patch of - I don't know what - on it. If the cleanliness bar could be raised a little, it is a great cottage.

Brief Encounter

Lovely cottage property. Everything you could need. Handy central location. Fresh contemporary decor with some traditional details kept.To find the key door was tricky in the dark, address took us to the back with no number.Dusty dressing table in twin room.No charge for winter parking, bonus.

Thank you for your feedback! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed the cottage and its central location, as well as the fresh decor with traditional touches. We appreciate you mentioning the key pickup challenge in the dark and the dusty dressing table—those are things we’ll work on improving for future guests. We’re happy that the winter parking was a bonus for you! Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we’d love to welcome you back soon!
