This was a delightful apartment - full of charm and so close to so many great restaurants! Daniel, the property manager, was very responsive and so helpful with our questions. I'd highly recommend it for anyone going to Palm Springs!
What a neat experience staying in an historic building, right in the heart of wonderful Palm Springs! We have grown to truly love this oasis in the desert right at the base of some of the most beautiful and dramatic mountains in the country. The interior of the condo has been restored to very closely match historical pictures. It is very well stocked with everything a guest could possibly need. The patio has a fantastic view of the mountains...a great place to relax after hiking the countless trails close to the downtown.
We were excited to find this place- I'm an architect and we're both interested in architecture and exploring local history wherever we go. For the early Modernist architecture buff, it's great, and for anyone else, the location can't be beat. The spaces are cool, the bed was large and comfortable, and there is a comfortably furnished terrace just outside the living space. The kitchen was nicely equipped for actual cooking, if you want to stay in after a day of touring. You're also just steps, literally, from fun shopping and many places to eat, and lots of other interesting stuff is within walking distance. The rental contact, Jessica, was very helpful with any questions I had before we arrived. We'd stay here again.
When we arrived, we were unable to gain access, even after contacting the management company ahead of time. Appears to have been some issues from the last guests. While the company refunded our payment and VRBO assisted in getting us overnight lodging elsewhere, it was not the happiest of days sorting things out. I hope others won't have the same experience, as we were looking forward to staying in that location.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
place was accurate, but unclean and bad communication
Hi,
We've booked with VRBO before, and never had any issues. We got into the place ok, and it was accurate to the description. But it wasn't cleaned, I think from the last user. And no clean towels, so we couldn't shower. I tried to message them repeatedly on the VRBO message system, but they never responded. Can you communicate with them? Is it possible to get some kind of refund? We couldn't shower, and we had to clean the place to make it usable. I can send a screenshot of my attempts to contact them if that helps.
Thanks,
Peter
We couldn’t stay at this property because they only provided check-in information the day of. They were not responsive to multiple emails. They have a weird system that (I guess?) you’re supposed to meet a stranger somewhere to sign some forms and then get the lockbox code? No, don’t arrive and hope for the best. I didn’t.
Love the property and especially the patio! The location was perfect and had every amenity you need in a funky mid-century vibe. Would definitely rent again.
This flat was nicely appointed and as advertised in the center of a very busy part of Palm Springs. Super easy walking distance to all kind of great shopping, eating, and drinking. Everything one could want on hand in the flat. Only real challenge is/was that the sleeping part of the flat was right up against the main thoroughfare and so street noise was at times disruptive. For people who are not sensitive to sound I think it would be a GREAT choice. Really great service from the team and the historical element of the property just can't be beat!
Our second time staying here - it's a great space in a great location. You can walk to just about everything downtown. Great helpful hosts at check in too. We will be back, thanks!

Great location
This unit is a great location. It’s walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The unit is full on mid century vintage charm with a private balcony. If you have issues with your knees or climbing stairs then this place may not be for you. There is a spiral stair case that’s very small.

Comfortable and cool.
The apartment was outfitted perfectly for one or two people. The pool area closed due to construction but was not all that important to me though might be a deciding factor for other vacationers. It was an easy walk to many good restaurants, shops and attractions. I decided against renting a vehicle this trip and didn't miss it at all.
But, as another reviewer suggested, bring or purchase ear plugs for sleeping. The road noise from both Palm Canyon and Indian Canyon Drives is significant at night especially Thursdays thru Saturdays.
It was fantastic to stay in this apartment designed in the 30's by one of the premier architects of the time. Though the exterior of building has lost the original appeal thru subsequent renovations, the upstairs unit ( judging by the black and white photos adorning it wall ) has remained faithful to the initial vision of Mr. Frey.

Great space in a great location.
As this is a Frey designed apartment, it made my stay during Modernism Week that much better. The place was super clean and tidy. All the comforts of home. Plus, a great management team. I would stay there again.

Great architecturally historic property
Perfect location for traveling around PS. Quiet & easy to walk downtown. Everything you need. Tip - pull your suitcase behind you when going up the cool spiral staircase otherwise you’ll struggle. Also make a stop in downstairs to meet Harley the cat shopkeeper. And hit On The Mark for a gourmet sandwich & bottle of wine. The guys over there will treat you right! Definitely recommend especially if you’re an architecture buff!

Comfy & convenient!!
True fans of modernism will surely love this accommodation! The unit itself has everything one would need for either a short or long stay. Comfy bed, fluffy pillows, colorful towels & a complete kitchen .
Right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Easy walk to restaurants & nightlife yet very quiet. Beautiful view of mountains from outdoor deck.
A wonderful spot for a quick getaway or an extended stay.
