Captainā€™s Hideout is a peaceful, dog-friendly, owner-managed waterfront home in quiet Avon Village. With a private sandy soundfront beach, wraparound decks, and gorgeous sunset views over the Pamlico Sound, itā€™s an easy place to relax, recharge, reconnect and truly get away.
Wake up to shimmering water views from your king suite, sip morning coffee on the deck, spend the day exploring Hatteras Islands many ocean beaches, museums, gift shops art markets, or, sunning and simply unwinding in the hammock under the oaks. The beach is just steps from the houseā€”no long walks with chairs or gear.
Inside, youā€™ll find a clean, well-stocked, modern-rustic home with all essentials provided: made beds, towels, beach towels, detergent, kitchen staples, and a fully equipped kitchen. We loved this property! Great views, super private, and pet friendly. The house had everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable. The upstairs bathroom felt like a spa experience with the view from the shower. Karen was an excellent and gracious host, getting us an early check in as well as being available for any questions we had. We hope to stay again next year, would highly recommend. Thanks Karen!

My family and pups really had a wonderful stay at the Captain's Hideout. My family's favorite spots were both decks relaxing with morning coffee. The views of the sound from the home were amazing. My dogs especially loved the wrap around deck that's gated. We used bikes provided and also rented a golf cart to access the pool and shops. Karen was so nice and very responsive to all questions which I appreciated. Thank you!!!

We just left Captains Hideout and miss it already! The house and the property were perfect for our family of four and fur baby! We fished and crabbed from the bulkhead, the kids used the paddle boards that were at the house, sunsets and stargazing from the porches were amazing. The house is very close to beaches and we even took the passenger ferry to Ocracoke Island for a day trip. Thank you Karen for sharing your property.

My wife and i (and our dog Blue) had a great stay. The location is very convenient to everything but very private at the house. The sound front beach was great for watching sunsets. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The showers have great water pressure and lots of hot water. The gates on the deck and the fenced backyard were perfect for keeping the dog confined when necessary. We would definitely stay again!!

Captains hideout is a fantastic Outer Banks getaway. Perfectly located on Pamlico Sound quiet, beautiful sunsets and still close to anything u could want on Hatteras Island. We would book this place again in a second when we return. It was everything we wanted in our stay and more.

Best sunset on the island!

Captains Cove is a beautiful home with a comfortable yet chic decor. The wrap around deck is filled with plants and flowers so every nook is inviting. Karen is a kind and generous host having lots of items in the home you often find you need but forget when you arrive. Our family of three and two pups canā€™t wait to return!

OBX family vacation

We had a great time and found this property to be perfect for our family of 3 and dog. We really enjoyed the sunset views over the sound, open floor plan and two master suites this property offered. Amazing place to stay and play!

We enjoyed the "homey" feel and all the wonderful accommodations! Incredible soundfront view and access and the most amazing sunsets you will find! The paddleboards and bikes were very useful and in great condition. Thanks also Karen for being pet friendly so we didn't have to leave them at home!
