I would have booked it again if it was available! My grandchildren, daughters, son in-laws and wife enjoyed the property also.i wish i found it 30 years ago!!
The perfect family getaway! The property was clean and the location can not be beat. Spent a wonderful week kayaking, swimming and enjoying downtown Port Clyde. Can’t wait to go back.
It was a lovely home in a friendly, quiet coastal Maine fishing village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay spending time at the house, beach and village and also making a few day trips to Acadia, Camden and Brunswick. Highly recommended!

Great location!
Very clean and recently updated place. Looks nicer than on pictures. We spent there an amazing week, despite a rainy weather. Kids rode bikes to the dock and the beach. Most importantly the ice cream place is 3 minutes walk from the house:) If you want to escape from it all, this is the place! Nicole and Charlie thank you for sharing your place with us!

Great house in a wonderful village. Loved our time there.
We stayed a week in Port Clyde and fell in love. From the time we booked our vacation with Charlie and Nicole, they were helpful with advice on travel to Port Clyde and activities for our teenagers. The house was perfect. It was beautiful and spotless and just the right distance from anything we wanted to do. We spent time at the dock in the ice cream shop, the General Store, Dip Net, and Squid Ink Coffee Shop. We rented paddle boards for the beach that is just a short walk away. Port Clyde is surrounded with other cute towns for shopping and sightseeing. We hope to return and will book again with Charlie and Nicole in this gorgeous home.

This is a nice comfortable house, three bedrooms upstairs, comfortable living room for congregating, nice kitchen with full size appliances. We could not tell that we were on the village main street, it was very quiet. Nice hikes to the Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum (must visit) and the osprey nest at the end of Horse Point Rd. near the old N.C. Wyeth place, can hike to swimming on sunny days at Drift Inn Beach. Social events a few evenings at the Barn Cafe, coffee and treats at Village Ice Cream (open until 8PM) and the Ocean House hotel and dining room, both less than a block away. Basic supplies at the temporary home of the general store in the Monhegan Boat gift shop, more treats at Squid Ink Coffee near the town landing, most other supplies can be bought in Tenants Harbor. We enjoyed using the bicycles for rides to many of these places. A nice comfortable stay!
Lovely house fully equipped for fun and relaxation. Comfy beds, new bath towels, a shed full of toys, nice kitchen. Immaculately clean. Walkable to lighthouse. Loved our stay!
Beautiful historic house with modern kitchen. A little tight with 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids), but made it work, in part because of the great outdoor space, furniture, large yard and fire pit, bikes for all ages. Very picturesque town, and short walk to pier and general store, and easy bike ride to beach, lighthouse and other sites. Had issues with internet (and hence the tv), but host was very responsive and got solved as quickly as possible. Would highly recommend.
The Simmons house is located in the town of Port Clyde Maine. Three spacious bedrooms upstairs, lovely kitchen, spacious bathroom located on the first floor. Within walking distance of all of the sights & sounds of the Port. Very happy to have found this lovely rental!
Walkable to General Store, Monhegan Island Ferry, Port Clyde Ice Cream , Dipnet Restaurant, fresh lobsters and beautiful vistas. Short walk to Lighthouse, beach and dog walks. 20 minute drive to Rockland , Farnsworth Museum, great shops and restaurants. What’s not to love??
Perfect getaway town in July - boating, little ships and lobsters straight from the fisherman’s coop. Property is lovely, beautifully maintained and well-stocked as location is rather remote from big stores.
Had a wonderful time here. Close to many other towns.
Friendly neighbors and people we had met along the way.
Lots to do and see. Found some nice beaches.

About the host
Hosted by Charlie and Nicole Simmons
Charlie and Nicole were married in 1999. Happy 25th!
They have four children, 2 girls and 2 boys, ages 14 through 22, and Shay, our dog.
My oldest son started college in the fall. My youngest daughter will be Senior in college in the fall. My oldest will be a senior in college, looking to get her Masters in Architecture .
Why they chose this property
Charlie's grandparents were born in South Thomaston in the late 1890's. His parents owned a small cottage on Spruce Head Island while he was a young boy. " My parents, my brother and I would spend part of our (endless) summers in Maine. I always looked forward to going." He has spent every summer of his life coming DownEast. Most of the time was spent on the end of the peninsula at Port Clyde.
I met Nicole 29 years ago in Massachusetts and brought her to Port Clyde and the Marshall Point Lighthouse. She fell in love with the place (and me). I asked her to marry me on Radcliffe's Island the next summer. Our children have been with us in Port Clyde since they were born.
We have visited other parts of the country and other continents.
But there is no place like Port Clyde any where else in the world.
What makes this property unique
This property is close to every amenity. Easy walk to the water's edge and a sandy beach.
We have very nice neighbors that range from quaint modest loberstermen and boat captains to movie stars, public figures of various industries and even a Chief Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court.
