Love this place. We feel like the location is perfect. It is very convenient to get out and about. The beach is practically right around the corner. The Wooden Whale itself is just ideal. Looking forward to coming back another summer.

The Wooden Whale is our favorite!

We stayed here 4 years ago and absolutely had to get back! The house is great, the backyard is the perfect spot for relaxing in the evening, and the hosts are super responsive. A short walk to the beach makes it the perfect location. Still remains our favorite place is Oak Islans!

Summer 2025

Another great year at OKI and at the Wooden Whale. Location of the Wooden Whale is very convenient to the ocean. House is furnished with all that you need for a week away including games, wifi & tv. We rented our linens to cut down on packing. Looking forward to next year’s trip.

The perfect getaway

David and Jeff are the best host! Great communication and perfect attention to detail. The house was absolutely amazing! Cutest decor and so inviting. They have thought of everything you will need to make your trip feel like a home away from home. Felt very safe there being there for a girls trip. Love the attention to every little detail, we have definitely found our favorite place on the island!

Great Place to stay!!!

This rental isbso comfortable and homey!! My daughter and i enjoyed it immensely! Very well stocked with cooking supplies and dishes. Comfortable beds. Nice dark rooms!! Back yard is fenced for security and privacy!! Thanks for sharing your lovely home. I would definitely come here again!!

Love at First Sight!

We LOVED our stay at the Wooden Whale! Very well appointed and convenient to everything! We hit the Farmer's Market on Monday and was WOW'd! Please point that out to guests so we can support Local! Thanks again and I hope to be back next year!
