Enjoy the serenity of beautiful Southport Island in a classic Maine cottage with a peek at Decker's Cove. Walk to Robinson's Wharf lobster pound to enjoy dinner on the pier, an ice cream cone or, bring fresh caught fish back to the cottage to cook yourself. Drive two miles to Hendrick's Head sand beach on the island or to downtown Boothbay Harbor. Go 2 miles in another direction and you're at the Maine Botanical Gardens where you can spend the day hiking along the river through some of the Mid Coast's most breathtaking scenery.
Plumpoint Cottage has a fully equipped eat in kitchen, living room with cable TV and free WiFi, two bedrooms, a 3 season room with TV and a cozy game room with a collection of vintage games and puzzles. The cottage is on a quiet side street that is used as a local walking path around the cove.
There is a gas grill in the backyard and a deck on the shed where you can sit and enjoy a peek at the cove.
There is a 3 night minimum in the off season and 7 night minimum during July and August. I can occasionally rent for two or three nights in season when there is a space between longer rents. That is determined on a case by case basis. We do not offer single night rentals. Linens are not provided automatically. Our cleaning service can leave them and then collect them at check out for an additional fee.

About the host
Hosted by Lesa C. Marino

We are a family of 4 that has fallen in love with the Boothbay Harbor area. When we bought our cottage, it needed a lot of work. Since my husband is a carpenter, we have been able to do most of the work ourselves. We spent many, many weekends remodeling, painting, plumbing, etc, including the year that we had it lifted and a foundation put under it. Our 2 two daughters have been very involved with creating our wonderful getaway, even when all they wanted to do was stay home with their friends. The four of us have put our hearts into our little Maine cottage with the hopes of it staying in our family for generations.
Why they chose this property
The reason we chose this cottage was, I'm pretty sure, by complete luck. We spent many years traveling to Portland and in 2000 we thought, what the heck, let's see if we can own a place in Maine. We drove to Boothbay and toured the area falling in love with it. We drove all over Southport, asking people if anyone they know was interested in selling a cottage. With no leads, we decided to subscribe to the local newspaper. In the very first issue we recieved, there was the listing we had dreamed of. The 4 of us packed up and drove to Maine 3 days later, bid against 4 other families and got our beautiful Cottage. From that day on, it has been our labor of love.
