Whether you’re visiting with family, traveling with friends, attending Balloon Fiesta, or staying for work, you’ll have comfortable spaces to gather and quiet places to recharge.

GATHER AND UNWIND

The welcoming living room features comfortable leather couches, generous seating, and a smart TV for your favorite streaming subscriptions. Settle in for a movie, share stories from the day, or enjoy a relaxed evening together.

COOK AND CONNECT

The well-equipped kitchen includes cookware, dishes, utensils, and essentials for preparing meals. Make breakfast before heading out, bring home a local favorite, or cook dinner together.

Complimentary New Mexico Piñon coffee adds a local touch to your morning. Enjoy a cup in the sunroom or take it outside to the shaded patio.

RESTFUL BEDROOMS AND TWO BATHROOMS

The primary bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed, quality linens, and a smart TV. Its private ensuite bathroom includes a deep soaking tub—an inviting way to unwind after traveling or exploring.

The second bedroom offers a queen-size bed with cozy linens. The third bedroom has two twin beds, providing flexible arrangements for family and friends.

Both bathrooms are stocked with soft towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

A SUNROOM FOR EVERY SEASON

The heated and cooled sunroom offers space for morning coffee, reading, or catching up on work at the desk. A twin daybed with a pullout trundle provides additional sleeping space.

This separate room connects to the primary bedroom through French doors fitted with privacy shades. The sunroom windows also have privacy shades. Close the doors and draw the shades for separation and added privacy. These additional beds are in the sunroom, rather than a fourth bedroom.

RELAX ON THE SHADED PATIO

Enjoy fresh air, an outdoor meal, or an unhurried conversation on the peaceful patio. Shaded seating for six and a barbecue grill make it easy to gather for dinner after a day around Albuquerque.

Start the morning slowly, spend an afternoon relaxing, or linger over your favorite drink as the day winds down.

A DESIRABLE NORTHEAST HEIGHTS LOCATION

Set in an established residential neighborhood with well-kept homes and a welcoming atmosphere, this home offers a quieter setting while keeping dining, shopping, parks, and outdoor adventures within easy reach.

The single-story layout keeps the main living spaces and bedrooms on one level. Guests also enjoy a two-car garage, with a garage door remote for convenient entry and exit.

WALK TO TIN CAN ALLEY

Nearby Tin Can Alley is within walking distance and makes a fun, easy outing. This distinctive shipping-container-style food hall brings local eateries and a Santa Fe Brewing Company taproom together in a lively, casual setting.

Everyone can choose something different, then gather to enjoy a meal together. Indoor and outdoor seating, mountain views, heated patios, and scheduled live music give you plenty of reasons to linger. Check the current merchants and events during your visit.

ENJOY NORTH DOMINGO BACA PARK

Walk to nearby North Domingo Baca Park for fresh air, family playtime, or a picnic. Open spaces, play areas, tennis courts, a skate park, and a dog park offer options for an active afternoon or a leisurely neighborhood outing.

It’s a convenient way to enjoy time outside without planning a full day away.

COFFEE AND LOCAL DINING

A short drive brings a variety of neighborhood favorites. Flying Star Café on Paseo offers coffee, meals, and handmade desserts, with a shaded patio and bubbling pond for a relaxing break.

Albuquerque-born Dion’s serves pizza, salads, and subs—an easy choice for a family meal or takeout. La Reforma offers tacos, craft beer, and cocktails, while Vintage 423 provides an option for a special dinner or evening out.

Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Smith’s, and Albertsons are conveniently nearby for coffee, groceries, and everyday essentials.

EXPLORE THE SANDIA MOUNTAINS

Head toward the Sandia foothills for hiking, biking, and wide-open scenery. Choose an adventure that suits your group, or ride the Sandia Peak Tramway for sweeping views over Albuquerque and beyond.

Bring an extra layer and leave time to enjoy the scenery. The mountains offer a memorable change of pace from city sightseeing.

GOLF, SPA TIME, AND ENTERTAINMENT

Sandia Resort & Casino offers options for dining, golf, spa visits, and entertainment. Plan a leisurely afternoon or an evening out, checking current reservations and schedules before you go.

DISCOVER HISTORIC OLD TOWN

Explore Old Town’s adobe buildings, courtyards, galleries, and shops. Browse Southwestern art and locally crafted jewelry, then stop for New Mexican cuisine. Try red chile, green chile, or “Christmas” for a little of both.

Nearby museums offer art, regional history, and hands-on science, making it easy to shape the day around your group’s interests.

A COMFORTABLE BALLOON FIESTA HOME BASE

Convenient access to I-25 helps with trips toward Balloon Fiesta Park. Allow plenty of extra time for event traffic and follow the organizer’s current transportation guidance.

After an early morning watching balloons, return home for coffee, a meal, or a well-earned rest. The balloon museum is another outing to consider during your visit.

DAY TRIPS AND SCENIC DRIVES

Head north on I-25 for a day in Santa Fe, exploring its historic Plaza, galleries, shops, and restaurants.

For a scenic alternative, explore the Turquoise Trail through communities along the eastern side of the Sandia Mountains. Longer outings to Cochiti Lake or the Jemez Mountains offer more opportunities to enjoy New Mexico’s landscapes. Check current access and conditions before setting out.

Five friends from Western Kansas enjoyed a girls trip to Albuquerque, and this house was perfect for us. Plenty of space for all of us, very clean, comfortable beds, and a great outdoor patio where we had morning coffee or evening snacks and wine. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were well stocked with plenty of towels and easily used by everyone. It was in a nice area and we found navigating to many interesting places very doable. We had a great stay and a very fun time exploring the city. We took a wine tour with Vino Vans and had a wonderful afternoon experiencing three wineries. Would highly recommend them for a special time, very interesting history, and being escorted professionally. Thanks for an amazing time in your fun city!

The home had everything we needed from dishes, to dog crates, baby pack & play, coffee maker etc. The yard was perfect for enjoying a relaxing evening in while the kids & pups played or lounged in the backyard. The neighborhood was quiet, neighbors nice and the property was close to the ice rink, not too far from downtown and a variety of stores were nearby.

About the host

Hosted by Jake Aragon

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Jake! I’ve lived in Albuquerque most of my life, and its wide-open spaces, mountain views, and unforgettable sunsets still make me appreciate calling it home. Sharing that experience with guests is one of the things I enjoy most about hosting.

Before becoming a host, I spent 27 years in retail management with a major retailer. That experience taught me to listen, anticipate needs, and pay attention to the details that make people feel welcome. Today, I bring that same care to preparing our homes and helping guests enjoy a comfortable, memorable stay.

My wife and I have been married for over 25 years, and we have two wonderful daughters. We love traveling as a family, whether we’re exploring somewhere new or relaxing by a lake, river, or beach. Our travels continue to shape my approach to hosting: I want to offer the cleanliness, comfort, thoughtful touches, and responsive communication I appreciate when I’m away from home.

I’m happy to share local restaurant favorites, suggest an outdoor adventure, or help with questions during your stay. I respond promptly to calls, texts, and emails while respecting your privacy and giving you space to settle in.

Many of our guests return year after year, and earning that trust means a great deal to me. Whether this is your first visit or a familiar return, I look forward to making you feel welcome in Albuquerque!

Why they chose this property

This was my first vacation rental, and it still holds a special place in my heart. It’s in the same neighborhood where I live and chose to raise my family—a place I know well and genuinely love sharing with guests.

For me, the appeal is the balance of peaceful residential surroundings and everyday convenience. This is one of Albuquerque’s most desirable neighborhoods, with well-kept homes, nearby parks, and easy access to local dining, shopping, and outdoor adventures.

Balloon Fiesta Park is only about five minutes away under normal driving conditions, making this a wonderful home base for the Fiesta. Event traffic requires an earlier start, but the proximity is a real advantage. When flight paths and weather cooperate, you may even see hot-air balloons floating directly over the house—a memorable way to experience Albuquerque!

With I-25 less than a mile away, exploring the city or heading north for a day in Santa Fe is straightforward. Whether you’re here for a special event, a family visit, or a relaxing getaway, this neighborhood offers what I value most: a welcoming place to come home to, close to the experiences that make New Mexico special.

What makes this property unique

What makes this home special is the combination of comfortable gathering spaces, a desirable Northeast Heights setting, and easy access to Albuquerque’s best experiences.

Balloon Fiesta is a particular highlight. With Balloon Fiesta Park nearby, you have a convenient home base for early-morning launches and evening glows. When weather and flight paths cooperate, balloons may drift directly over the house or land nearby—creating unforgettable moments without even leaving the neighborhood.

Inside, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a separate heated and cooled sunroom give your group flexibility. The sunroom features a desk and a twin daybed with a trundle, with privacy shades on its windows and the French doors connecting it to the primary bedroom. A shaded patio with a barbecue grill invites relaxed meals together, while the two-car garage and provided remote make coming and going easy.

Walk to Tin Can Alley for local food and craft beer, or enjoy nearby North Domingo Baca Park. Restaurants, shopping, and everyday essentials are close by, while Sandia Resort & Casino and the Sandia Mountains offer opportunities for golf, spa time, entertainment, hiking, biking, and a memorable tram ride.

With I-25 less than a mile away, you’re also well positioned to explore Albuquerque or plan day trips to Santa Fe, Cochiti Lake, and the Jemez Mountains.

Whether you’re here for business, family time, or adventure, this home offers something I value when traveling: plenty to discover nearby and a welcoming place to return to afterward.
