Replace cloth furniture to pleather. Smelled like old stinky socks which transferred to our clothing.
Be warned! Check out time at 9:00 a.m. just way too to early. That was a first for us!
The place, the home, was in very good condition otherwise we were impressed.
My friend and I were so excited to stay here. When we arrived the place was filthy. There was crumbs on the counter. The toilets has black in the rim and hair on the seat. The shower curtain had pink mold. The front bedroom smelled of mold so we could not sleep there. The floor was about to fall in. Three of the tv's were not working. The backdoor was broken. The door lock was not secure. I can go on and on. We placed several calls and one lady was extremely rude. They finally came to fix the door, tv, and lock after 4 days. They said that they would refund some for the cleaning issue. We stayed here Labor Day and now it is the end of Oct and they still have not done anything. The ocean access was great and Oak Island is beautiful but find another place.
Great ocean-front property! Oak Island was terrific.
This property was just what we were looking for to celebrate our 30th anniversary with friends who share the same anniversary. There were more bedrooms than we needed, but the space was nice and we each had our own couples bathroom. The renovated kitchen space was roomy and perfect for meal-prep times, especially since we ate in every night during the pandemic-timed trip in October. Many available dishes, pots/pans, storage containers, cooking utensils, and the coffee maker were well-utilized by us. Our dog's first time going to the beach was a fun treat. The screened in porch and picnic table were a bonus; there is also room on the outside ocean-side and side-house deck for sitting and sunning. Quick access to the beach, meaning down the steps and on to the sand, was exactly what I was looking for. Air conditioning and ceiling fans were ideal for individual temperature variations. TV was nice, games were available, as well as books. My only suggestion would be to add a garbage disposal, but perhaps this is an issue in NC. Would definitely stay here again. Also, we had a minor incident that required housekeeping and also one with maintenance, but the Oak Island Accommodations company and staff were quick with turnaround time and resolutions. Thank you.
