Katie is a great host and the property was clean, comfortable and in a great location off the beaten path. The property has been updated well with all the amenities you need for a great stay!
Our family had a great stay at Basecamp in Island Park, while visiting Yellowstone. The house was plenty big for our family of four and gave us some extra things to do with bikes, beautiful deck, fire pit, swing, and basketball hoop. Fun way to enjoy the Yellowstone area.
If you get a chance to stay here please take it. Our family would stay again, this cabin is highly recommended.
Communication: Communication between the owners and our family was seamless and easy. They went above and beyond to ensure I was receiving information when the booking site seemed to be glitching. Check in and check out process was well explained and easy to follow. I was provided with lots of information on local restaurants, grocery stores, and things to do.
Cleanliness and Cabin: The cabin was very clean and organized. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Extra sheets and blankets were available. Heaters and fans were available to quickly adapt to temperature. The appliances in the kitchen were clean and supplies for running the dishwasher and washer and dryer were supplied. Emergency supplies were stocked. Lots of board games and books were available to use. The speaker and television systems was easy to use and we enjoyed connecting our phones to listen to music while hanging out in the cabin.
Location: The cabin was very quiet. Lots of trees and peace. The back porch is wonderful for sitting and reading a book. The porch was supplied with a grill and coolers for vacation adventures. Seating and chairs were around the firepit for evening smores. Multiple bikes and helmets were provided to ride on trails or down to the local store. The local river/creek was a great place for our kids to play. We were fortunate to experience a moose walk in the water. It was awesome. Traveling into Yellowstone National Park was easy and fast.

Great property if you want to be close to Yellowstone but not too close. Very clean, well maintained and the hosts were very helpful with things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend for a secluded getaway! A+!
Our stay in Island Park was great. The house was very clean, updated, and beds were comfortable! Plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. There are some basic cooking spices provided, along with the necessities to make meals. This was our base camp for the west side of Yellowstone…which it’s close but still about 30 minutes to get into the park, just adds a little driving time but nice to be away from the craziness of West Yellowstone. We had some rainy weather during our stay so didn’t take advantage of the bikes provided or spend much time on the deck, but everything was great. Communication with Katie is timely, she provided lots of information and suggestions for this to do around the area which is nice. We enjoyed a visit to Big Springs and Johnny Sacks cabin and did some horseback riding in the area in addition to our Yellowstone adventures.
This space was absolute perfection. Less than a half hr from the west entrance and has every possible comfort from home you could hope for. The most comfortable beds I have ever experienced at a VRBO. Not one complaint. Would love to come back!
We loved our stay here! We have rented a few properties over the years, and this is the cleanest one yet! Everything was just as pictured and so lovely! Nicely remodeled. It was an easy drive to West Yellowstone, and also a wonderful place to relax! Katie was so responsive and gave great recommendations. While we came to see Yellowstone, we also visited Big Springs and the Johnny Sack Cabin (which is a must see!). We also ventured to Rexburg and went to the waterpark (Rexburg Rapids) about 45 minutes away, so my 7 year old could have a break from sight seeing. Overall we loved it here and would absolutely recommend this cabin!
This was the perfect stay. Katie was super responsive and gave us tips that helped a lot! Anything you needed was at the cabin. Cabin is adorable and clean and quiet. We loved it!
This is such a cute cozy cabin with the comforts of home. The owners were great to work with and provided great tips for the area. We loved staying at Basecamp and hope to come back again sometime!
We truly enjoyed our time staying at Basecamp @ Island Park. It was a nice little retreat after a long days touring Yellowstone. The house was perfectly appointed with everything you need from toiletries to a kitchen with the essentials to great internet and TV selections. We stayed with our two small children and they especially enjoyed the bunkbeds (which had great mattresses!). Everything was comfy and cozy. I only wish we had better weather to enjoy more of the outdoors in the area. Next time!
Our family had a great time at Basecamp @ Island Park. We really enjoyed the bikes and the nearby trails. We grilled out & enjoyed the fire pit. The wifi speeds were great, and the TVs & technology in the house was exceptional. After spending time in Yellowstone, it was fun place for the family to hang out.

About the host
Hosted by Katie
Hi, I am Katie. As a native of Idaho I have always loved the outdoors. Living and growing up in this region there are so many astounding areas but Island Park is at the top of my list of favorite places. I spent most of my summers in Island Park while growing up. I have a deep affinity for the area and wanted to make sure that my family and friends were also able to experience the wonders of the area.
Why they chose this property
The close proximity to Henry's Fork and Macks Inn makes the property extremely accessible to a wide variety of activities. You can take a 5 minute bike ride to the Henry's Fork and rent kayaks, rafts, of just get ice cream. The entrance to Yellowstone is less than 25 minutes away and within 60 minutes you can be at Old Faithful.
What makes this property unique
Everything about the property was designed to make sure everyone can relax and have a good time. Situated in a pine forest, right when you get out of your car you will feel like you are on a true mountain vacation. I also wanted to make sure the cabin was truly family friendly and encouraged "family bonding" but at the same time I wanted to make sure that there were plenty of areas to find solitude. The 3 decks and the outside living space offers this potential.
