The "Gîte de la Bonne Avoine" is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site:
Between the Loire (6km), Vienne (3km) and Indre (6km) in this corner of Touraine called the "VERON" which will delight fans of walks or bike (circuit "Loire bike" 150m ).

Nearby among other castles of Chinon (8km), Rigny Ussé (8km), Rivau (10km), Montsoreau (8km), Langeais (25km), Azay le Rideau (25km) Saumur (20km), the Abbey of Fontevrault, the city of Richelieu (20km) and the heart of the vineyard of Chinon, near those of Bourgueil, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, Champigny, Saumur and Layon.

Great property and Location

The property well equipped and presented in a good location. In its own grounds with secure gates offers a nice property to explore the local area which has much to offer. The cycling routes are organised and relatively easy to ride taking the many opportune cultural château stops on route. Avoine itself is a nice place with many local amenities to help the stay go smoothly.

Fabulous week at 'La Bonne Oats'

I can honestly say the accommodation and area surpassed our expectations. Communication with René was incredibly efficient before and during our stay, including recommended restaurants and local events taking place during our stay. Location of the property is perfect for what we wanted - close to the centre of Avoine and it's facilities, but secluded and not overlooked. The garden is fantastic with an outside dining area, parking area, garage for storing cycles and a lovely sitting area under a beautiful Albizia tree. The property itself is well equipped to a high standard and the perfect size for us. We hired bikes from Chinon for the week and made good use of the cycle routes and small quiet well maintained roads to visit places instead of using the car all the time. Would return for future visits without question!

Superb location

The photos really don't do this gite justice. It was spotlessly clean and the private outdoor space was lovely. The owners were very welcoming and gave good advice on the area, including which of the 3 bakers in walking distance was the best (we tried all 3 but went back to their recommendation). This gite is on a small one way street (with very little traffic) in the centre of the village. All the facilities including a supermarket are within a few minutes walk. It is only 10/15 mins away from Chinon a beautiful town which has a large hypermarket and a castle - particularly good if you have children (very interactive). We used this gite as a base to visit many of the Chateaus in the area and it was perfect. If I was visiting the area again I would stay here.

Très beau gîte avec cour fermée, grand jardin,terrasse. Confortable avec 2 salles de bain et 2 wc séparés ce qui peut être pratique si on vient entre amis. Les lits sont faits à l'arrivée et confortables. Les meubles sont anciens et très beaux....bref ,une très belle location,calme et tranquille bien qu'elle soit à 2 pas des commerces. Mais le plus de ce gîte,ce sont les propriétaires Nicole et René, extrêmement gentils et accueillants qui peuvent vous renseigner et vous conseiller sur tout ce qui concerne la région.

Geräumiges, sehr gut ausgestattetes Landhaus mit guter Lage

Wir haben eine Woche in dem gemütlichen Landhaus mit guter Ausstattung verbracht und uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist ideal, um die Loire zu erkunden. Wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Abtei Fontevraud, die Altstadt und Burg von Chinon und Anger, die Schlösser Azay-le-Rideau und Villandry, sind ganz in der Nähe. Der Gastgeber Rene hat uns äußerst freundlich willkommen geheißen und in das Haus eingeführt.

Gemütliches Ferienhaus

Das Ferienhaus hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Es ist komfortabel ausgestattet und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Parken konnten wir auf dem abgeschlossenen Grundstück. Supermarkt, Bäcker, Schwimmbad waren fußläufig erreichbar. Fahrradwege in der Nähe laden zu Radtouren ein. Der Vermieter spricht englisch und ist äußerst freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Uns hat es in diesem FH und in der Region Centre-Val de Loire ausgezeichnet gefallen. Herzlichen Dank an Familie Vineau

Nous avons pu combiner des activités pour chacun d'entre nous (acrobranches, canoé). Avec les enfants, nous conseillons notamment la visite du château de Brézé et le mystère des faluns surtout par temps de grosses chaleur car il y fait très frais.

Wir verbrachten drei wunderbare Wochen in dem 200-jährigen Haus von Nicole und René. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Die Lage ist ideal für Ausflüge in der Region und der Radweg führt 100 m neben dem Haus vorbei und die Region ist ein Paradies für Radfahrer. Im Garten kann man sich herrlich ausruhen. Zum Einkaufen gibt es in 300 m Entfernung einen Supermarkt, einen Metzger und Bäcker und eine Apotheke. Nicole und René erfüllen dir jeden Wunsch und geben dir viele gute Tipps. Vielen Dank Nicole und René für drei Wochen tolle Ferien.

Lovely property in a great position.

Lovely stone built house with a walled garden and enclosed courtyard. Easy walk to bakery, butcher, supermarket, restaurants, and a great swimming pool. The host is super helpful and communicative. A perfect spot to check out all the wonders of the Loire Valley.

Schmuckes Haus - ganz zentrumsnah

Wir waren vier Frauen 55+, die sich zu einem genussvollen Frankreich-Urlaub in diesem Haus zusammengefunden haben. Obwohl wir zwei Stunden zu früh ankamen, wurden wir nach einem Telefonat freundlichst von Nicole und René empfangen. Das schmucke und gut aufgeteilte Haus liegt in einer kleinen Seitenstraße sehr zentrumsnah nur 3 min von Bäcker, Metzger, Brasserie, Kirche und Supermarkt entfernt. Die Ausstattung von Haus und Garten ist ausgezeichnet. Eine ausführliche Infomappe war vorbereitet und Kartenmaterial für Ausflüge war auch vorhanden. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt und blendend erholt. Als wir mit einem Fenster Probleme hatten, weil wir die Velux-Sperre nicht kannten, war René sofort zur Stelle. Drei E-Bikes konnten wir in der Garage parken und aufladen. Der große Garten mit sonnigen und schattigen Plätzen und einem Außenessplatz wurde am Nachmittag und Abend gerne von uns genutzt. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und hoffen, im kommenden Jahr wiederkommen zu können.
