Awesome oceanside beachbox, with the most amazing front porch! Short walk to the ocean, second house from the beach path. Located in the best neighborhood in Hatteras Island. Wide street with ample room for walking the dog, strollers, jogging, bike riding, go two miles in a big loop and never go out on highway 12. Walk to the Conery for an ice cream treat. Salvo is a magical little village, you can relax, unwind, unplug and let your troubles go. Bright, fun and open concept living with large comfortably furnished living room, a kitchen with all new appliances & cook and bakeware; counter height bar seating, dining area which looks out to the most amazing front porch, sure to be your favorite place to make family memories. Great place to have your morning coffee, sit in the double glider, or 2 rocking chairs, eat meals on the dining table, play games, this porch is amazing. Finish your evening here with the little white lights plugged in, reminiscing about your day in the sun. You can hear the ocean from this porch.
Walk down the hallway which leads to four bedrooms, three queen sized bedrooms and a master with a California king size bed and a bath, also a shared bath in the hallway, as well as the laundry area.
Great parking area underneath, as well as a place to hang out, eat, play corn hole. There is an outdoor shower, fish cleaning station and a pen for the dog. Nice area to store all your beach gear at the end of the day.
Recent renovations include a newly renovated kitchen, whole house freshly painted, new a/c unit, newly installed floors, light fixtures throughout, new porch furniture, all new bedding, and house accessories, cookware, bakeware, TVs, dishes, updated bathrooms. Linens can be rented from local companies, if you choose not to bring your own.

The property was perfect for our family vacation, including 6 adults, a baby and 2 dogs. It was clean, provided everything we could need, and it was a 2 minute walk to the beach. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our week at SALVOBX. The house was a great size for our group and the location was exactly what we were looking for - tucked away from the crowds, with easy access to both the ocean and the sound. We only went into Nags Head once during our visit. The rest of the time was spent at the beach, on the sound, and exploring the Salvo area and areas further south. Communication with the owner was easy and helpful. Overall very pleased with our experience, which made for a very relaxing stay at the beach!

Great time in Salvo

Perfect location for a nice, quiet, beach vacation. Lori’s home is beautifully decorated and very spacious. Will definitely be staying again.

Great vacation rental!!

This home is cute and well taken care of, perfect for a beach vacation. The owner is great!! Really close to the beach - just a short walk, and the neighborhood is nice. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again on our next trip to the outer banks!!

Perfect Accommodations

Our stay in Salvo exceeded all expectations. Upon arrival, the home was spotless and thoughtfully prepared, complete with delicious snacks and welcoming touches throughout. Every detail was considered—from fully stocked kitchen amenities to laundry supplies and personal accents that made us feel right at home.We were able to enjoy every part of the property and truly appreciated the care that went into creating a comfortable and inviting space. The owner was incredibly attentive and communicative, providing helpful details both before and during our stay. This is undoubtedly a property we would love to book again.

Wounderful Home in Salvo

A great stay two years in a row!

This was our second trip to this property and we couldn’t have been happier. When we arrived the first day it was like we never left! As always the property was clean and ready for us when we arrived, and the fresh baked muffins and pastries the second morning were awesome!

Great place to get away

We had a wonderful time at Salvobx. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with accessories. The screened in porch was perfect for evenings hanging out and the music from the windchimes was so perfectly relaxing. Amazing communication from the owner. Short walk to beach.

Great house, great owners!

We LOVED Salvo, and the house was fantastic! The pictures were spot on, but being there was even better! Great owners to work with. Quick to respond during the entire process! And, they sent breakfast muffins and cinnamon rolls from a local bakery, delivered to the front door while we were there. Would recommend, and plan to return in the future!

Salvobx

Salvobx was a great house to spend a week long vacation. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the living spaces outdoor and inside were perfect for spending time together. The neighborhood is enjoyable for walks with our dog, and the beach was only a short walk. We would definitely come back!

All The Right Ingredients

The property has all of the right features for a great Outer Banks experience. The house/rooms are very well kept with a very simple "Beach Box" design - 4 bedrooms, kitchen, appropriately sized living room and nice screened in porch facing the road. It can't take longer than 10 minutes to walk to the surf. This place is perfect for those who treasure their time on the beach.

Fantastic

We had an amazing vacation thanks to Lori and Salvobx! The home was perfect for our family. It had everything we needed and more! We spent most of our time in the screened porch playing games and enjoying the breeze and sound of the ocean. The walk to beach was not not long at all and took maybe 8 mins. We have zero complaints and can’t wait to return!!

The property was exactly as adverised. It was clean with basically everything inside the house.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at this property and would definitely come back again. We had seven people (2 adults and 5 kids) and a dog during our stay and we never felt like we were crammed into the house. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and was spacious. There was a brand new outside shower that was great for washing off the sand or for taking a full shower. It was only a couple minute walk to the beach.

Close to beach access and bigger than it looks

My family had a blast! The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures, the main living area is huge and was enough for the 7 of us with room to spare. Beach access is only a few houses down the block, it took us about 5-10 mins tops to get to the beach carrying all of our stuff. The area is just beautiful, we went to Avon, Waves and Manteo and even bought a huge kite! We found a ton of cool shells and even had a bonfire on the beach one night and made s'mores. It was fantastic.

Perfect Beach Family Getaway

Salvobx was they perfect fit for our family get together. Comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, fabulous screened in porch, great outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand, storage area for beach items, and minutes away from an incredible beach. (As noted before, if you are into cooking you may want to bring your own knives/cutting boards) Salvo is a quiet little town, with a short drive to the attractions in the north or to Hatteras to the south. Lorri was one of the best hostesses we have ever had in our 20+ years using VRBO. We will definitely be recommending this rustic little gem to others.

Thought of everything!!

Every detail of our vacation was perfect thanks to the wonderful house and great communication from the owners. Everywhere we turned we found some small detail that made life easier and the email we received prior to our stay answered every question we could have possibly had! Simple things like extra hooks in the outdoor shower for bathing suits/ towels, and a scoop to remove the charcoal ash from the grill to a well equipped kitchen that included quality cookware and accessories (Yeti coffee mugs!!). This was our first vacation in the Outer Banks and we felt totally spoiled! We will definitely be back.

Nothing to do but RELAX!

I can’t say enough about this house...Everything was perfect and my family and I finally relaxed once we got there. The house was easy and the more I stayed, the more I appreciated all the littles touches that Lori put in the house and the very nice renovation. Favorite memories...The screened in porch, grilling downstairs, the outside shower, the kids loved watching movies in the bedrooms, the waves at the beach and the wide open spaces on the sand! Thank you Lori for your attention to detail in every way.

Great house in a quiet neighborhood

The house was exactly as described and was the prefect place for our family of four! The kitchen includes most of what you need, but if you cook a lot (or are particular with the tools you use) I would definitely recommend you bring your favorite pot/pan/knife as with any rental they may not have exactly what you want or need to prep. Access to the beach was a 5 minutes walk with the beach entrance about 100 feet from the driveway. We had no issues lugging all the things you need to keep two young kids happy on the beach. Lorri was great and provided a ton of information up front before our arrival that helped tremendously. We experienced one slight issue, but she took care of it immediately and all was good. We know things can happen and it's the response of the owner that matters more than anything else. Lorri was great, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at one of her properties again!

Absolutely beautiful property!

We just returned from a fantastic week! The house looks in person just as pictured. The beds are comfortable. The walk to the beach is SO quick and easy. The town is so peaceful! The only issue we had was the cleaning. The cleaning person was not thorough, and in a pet friendly property, that’s maybe even more important. When we arrived we open the door to a wall of overwhelming fragrance. Even the refrigerator smelled like the cleaning person had just emptied a bottle of Lysol or Febreeze in it. We’ve never had to air a place out before, but we had to do it here. It took 6 hours of open windows to make it so we could come back into the house. With so many asthma and allergy sensitivities, the cleaning company needs to find an alternate idea to clean a small space and use less of it! Once we could re-enter, we found that we had to vacuum because there was dog hair all over. Under all of the furniture, on the sides of most of the furniture, and under the beds looked like it hadn’t been touched in weeks. However, I communicated all of this right away with the owner, who does ask for feedback. She is incredibly gracious and I believe she will have this fixed right away! Owner communication is unmatched. Lorri provided us with everything we could possible need to enjoy our week there, including ideas of things to do. She also goes way above and beyond with so many welcoming surprises that it would be impossible not to feel at home! Overall, we were beyond impressed with the property. Everything in the owner’s immediate power was handled beautifully and we will absolutely be back!

I have always loved the Outer Banks and think it is a place like no other. I vacationed here for more than 30 years, and I am so grateful to be a property owner here. My children took every summer vacation in Outer Banks and now my sweet grand kids are getting the same experience!

Why they chose this property

I LOVE the Outer Banks and specifically Salvo so much! I think it is a little paradise, and try to come here every chance I get. I bought my first house, “Welcome Back”, located five doors down from this house in 2016, I was extremely excited and grateful when I was able to purchase this amazing home. I hope you enjoy staying here as much as I do!

What makes this property unique

This neighborhood is awesome, with our wide street that allows you to stroll the baby, walk the dog, take a walk or jog or bike ride and not be on the highway. The Salvo day use is located nearby with the most amazing sunsets ever! The ocean is a very quick walk, you can hear the ocean from the porch.
