About this property
Sleepers Island Lake House--BOAT REQUIRED TO ACCESS THIS PROPERTY!
Enjoy one of the best locations on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. With its cheerful southern exposure, this Sleepers Island home is just minutes by boat from the West Alton Marina, yet it has all the benefits of island living - the best of both worlds. RENTERS WILL NEED THEIR OWN BOAT TO ACCESS THIS PROPERTY!
Our lake house has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a spacious kitchen-dining-living room, all looking directly out at the clear, clean waters of magnificent Lake Winnipesaukee. The over-sized covered porch and deck provide excellent outdoor living space.
The home has a cozy "cabin feel" with pinewood floors throughout, solid spruce posts and beams, and paneled walls. The master suite includes a cedar-lined, tile-floored bathroom, and a laundry room with washer and dryer.
The large, horseshoe-shaped dock provides a covered slip for a 23 ft boat. There are 110 feet of pristine waterfront, with a swim ladder on the dock, as well as beachfront stairs for easy water access. There is a medium sized front yard for hanging out in the sun.
There is a private walking path around the island for island guests. It takes about 50 minutes to go all the way around. It is unspoiled and quite beautiful with its rock outcroppings, wildlife, and many varieties of forest trees, mushrooms and lady slippers.
The house comfortably sleeps 10, though nightly rate is based on six people ($25 per additional person per night). The bedrooms include: Master - 1 king bed, 1 daybed which converts into 2 side by side twins; Second Bedroom - 1 full bed, 1 twin bunk bed; Third Bedroom - 1 twin over full bunk bed.
If you like boating, swimming, fishing, walking in the woods or just enjoying the magnificent sunsets and soft lap of the water, our lake house might be just the place for you. It's been our beloved family vacation home for more than 20 years and we think you'll love it too!

About the host
Your host
This beloved island house has been our family summer home for nearly 30 years. Rather than letting it sit empty for weeks out of the summer, we want to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
This is a comfortable, yet rustic property. It does not have a television or phone (Verizon gets moderately good service on island). There is basic wifi, however, the speed is intermittent. We recommend rather than shower, you jump in the lake to clean up because the septic is old and small.
What makes this property unique
Despite it being rustic, the property is full of charm. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, clean cabin, this is a perfect spot for you. If you need newer amenities, high speed internet, or want to stay up late, we suggest you find a more appropriate property. Quiet hours start at 11 p.m. and run until 8 a.m.
