Beautiful, clean apartment just as described. We enjoyed the expansive kitchen, grill, deck, and the peace and quiet of the surroundings. On site washer and dryer were an extra convenience.
The owner was very thorough with all his communication. The studio was perfect for our stay in Acadia. Very clean and practically new. Waking distance to the flying mountain trail which was a great benefit of not having to find a spot to park. Iykyk.
Great apartment right in the heart of Mount Desert Island / incredibly close to multiple Acadia Park entrances! We absolutely loved staying here and Eric was a great host and incredibly easy to communicate with. Check-in was seamless, the space was exactly as described, and we can't way to return!
Very clean and in a convenient location. Quiet, wooded setting. We were very comfortable there. Eric is an excellent host, and we appreciated his suggestions about hikes, restaurants, and local attractions. There is no cable, so the only TV shows available are on Netflix and Amazon Prime, so bring your passwords.
We decided to head up to Acadia before the crowds. We loved this location of the VRBO. It was cozy and clean. Also, it was minutes away from Bar harbor and Acadia National Park. Communication with the owner was easy and always timely. I would definitely stay here again!
Great, clean and comfortable property. Property owners provided great information for us during our stay which helped us plan our days and thoroughly enjoy our stay in the area.
5 stars! My fiancé and I were in Maine for vacation and looking for a place to stay while visiting Acadia. This property perfectly met our needs! The space was clean, secluded, and close enough to everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely stay again!
Apartment was wonderful for my family and dogs. Very private road to walk the dogs, and apartment was very clean and had all the items we needed for our stay. Would stay again Eric was very helpful before we were there and during our stay. Was a great location easy to access Bar Harbor and sounding area. Thank you

Beautiful studio perfect for 2 adults with 2 dogs. Very quiet. Near Acadia National Park. Some trails are very near and you don’t have to take your car.
This property was the perfect place for a peaceful trip to Acadia. It is beautifully put together. Southwest Harbor is a quaint town with everything you need and about 25 minutes to Bar Harbor. There are great trails Flying Mountain and Wonderland close by. Eric was great with recommendations for hikes and restaurants. He was flexible and responds quickly. We didn’t want to leave. If we return to Acadia we will stay here again.
The property is a new build in a beautiful wooded setting and very close to Acadia National Park trailheads on the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island. Eric was very accommodating (especially with respect to our dog). He kept in touch with us and was very responsive to our requests. (He let us know the other renters on the 2nd floor also had a dog and when the renters checked out and the new renters checked in.)
While this is a studio apartment, it had everything we needed as a home base for our first visit to the Acadia area.
Eric was very kind and understanding when we called on arrival regarding an issue we had with accessing the apartment on arrival ( operator error).
The location was so beautiful, with Acadia NPS trails less than a mile away, a NPS lakefront beach also less than a mile away. We were quite active visiting the park everyday and this was such a convenient homebase, away from the crowds of Bar Harbor.
One thing to be aware of is that the apartments are not air homebase. I’m glad we did not notice that, because we otherwise would have passed on this gem. My husband does not do well with the heat, and although it was very hot and humid the first couple days, we were outside, and there’s excellent cross ventilation in the studio.
Highly recommend, and we hope to be back soon.
Nicely appointed studio apartment a short drive from SW Harbor
My wife and I stayed in Eric's studio apartment in Southwest Harbor this past week, and overall we enjoyed our stay. The appliances were all new and the shower was excellent. Having a washer/dryer on premises was a lifesaver after hiking in the park. Eric was excellent at communicating with us throughout our stay.
Some feedback regarding the cleanliness of the unit:
- there were some pet hairs on the couch and bed when we checked in. I'm assuming these were from a prior renter's pet, since the property is pet friendly.
- the floor of the unit was dirtier than we expected, even upon first inspection. The house has a gravel driveway, and it was very easy to track in dirt on the hard floors. A waterhog (or similar) entry mat inside the unit itself would go a long ways towards managing the dirt.
Great location in regards to Acadia National Park. Home is located on a nice private road. Very quiet and peaceful. The host did a great job communicating on how to check in and was very responsive. There were, however, a few things that did disappoint us. Firstly, it was listed that this property was dog friendly. However, once we were reading the welcome book provided by the host, it stated that “dogs were not allowed on any furniture and if there was any excessive barking that you would be asked to leave without a refund.” This gave us some anxiety as dog owners with renters upstairs who also had a dog. We feel dogs will be dogs and they bark naturally. Secondly, the house was clean upon arrival, however the floor had a slippery, slimy feeling to it. We couldn’t walk around barefoot. Not sure what cleaning products are used. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the surrounding trails!
Incredibly clean and quiet dog friendly stay for Acadia NP. We had a wonderful stay and Eric is a great host. Secluded location but convenient to the park and not too far from Bar Harbor. This was our second stay and hope to come back.
This was a really great accommodation. The studio was much bigger than expected, and Eric had thought of everything one could need for a stay. Surrounded by nature and trees, and not far from Acadia National Park. Communication was smooth, and Eric always responded very quickly. If we are in the area again, we would love to come back.
Our stay in the Acadia quiet side studio was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and the check-in and entry process was very smooth. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I would definitely recommend this property if you are planning to visit Acadia.

About the host

We have been vacationing on MDI for over 20 years and fell in love with Southwest Harbor and the “quiet side” of the island. Enjoy the island and Acadia without all the Bar Harbor traffic, but still close enough to pay a visit too.
