Enjoy the Beauty of Acadia National Park! Bicycles are part of your rental!
Please note: Usually, we can only rent Sunday to Sunday for June, July and August mainly due to a shortage of people to clean when the cottage is turned for a new renter. I have just changed that to a 4 night minimum, but please message me before clicking on desired dates, so I can check with my cleaning person to see if the dates work for her. Thank you! All guests must be at least 24 years of age. Enjoy all that Acadia National Park has to offer!! Don't forget that September and October are two of the best months in Acadia as well! No crowds...just beautiful fall weather and gorgeous scenery. We are a short distance to all the natural beauty that is Acadia, and there is no time like the fall for hiking. We are located on what is known on the island of Mount Desert on the 'Quiet Side'. We are away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor.. Relax on our patio and enjoy the garden. The quaint village of Southwest Harbor is nearby. Take the nearby ferries to all the surrounding islands. Some of Acadia's easiest and most beautiful hikes are a short distance away. We have a fully stocked kitchen for those who like to cook. Our cottage is heated to take the chill off a cool autumn evening. So come enjoy your vacation in our garden cottage and enjoy the natural splendor that is Acadia!! Two bikes included with rental. We have Wi-Fi.
Please be aware, that after I have accepted your booking, I will call the phone number you provide to VRBO. We MUST talk on the phone to make your booking official. That way, I can also give you more information about the property to make sure it is what you want. Thank you. Check in time is 4 PM and check out is 10 AM. I apologize for the early checkout but cleaning staff are hard to find and stretched thin, so need the extra time

The Garden Cottage was a great place to stay while we checked out Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house was very comfortable and well supplied. Would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage and greatly appreciated the communication and suggestions from Leslie! We did as much as possible in and around Acadia for this three days we were there. Everything was perfect, and we hope to come back again sometime.
The cottage is very comfortabel and the location is wonderful. A good bed for a good night sleep. Near the water, near nice restaurants and near enough to Arcadia national park and Bar Harbor. A great place to stay.
The property was great. The listing from vrbo was incorrect at verification, said property is in Georgia not Maine.
The owner is fantastic. Gave local recommendations amd was very helpful.
We loved our stay on the Quiet Side of mount desert island. Beautiful garden makes up for lack of direct lake views but access to hikes, carriage roads and coast is easy to get to.
Great property on the quiet side with a lovely patio garden. Easy drive into Southwest Harbor for shopping and restaurants. Upstairs living space with TV a plus.
This was a great experience for us. The location is central to Acadia National Park which was the main reason for our visit. The property is beautiful with a gorgeous outdoor patio; the inside is clean, comfortable, and warm and cozy Fully equipped with everything we needed and much more.
My husband and I came to Maine for our one year wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! The cottage was quaint and lovely. Leslie was so wonderful and helpful. We are already planning our next trip back and would love to stay here again!
The house was perfect; adorable, comfy, and very welcoming. Garden was beautifully maintenance and perfect for mornings watching the sunrise with coffee. Leslie was a great host and extremely responsive.
Perfect cozy cottage surrounded by beautiful gardens. Owner stocks everything you could need for comfort and convenience. Lots to do in area. Bar Harbor only about a 20 minute drive away. Great access to all Acadia Nat'l Park has to offer. Great restaurants close to home. Would highly recommend!!!
Close to the water and we’ll equipped. Bed was comfortable and linens were new and fresh. Perfect for two people.
Property owner is responsive to communications. We had few questions and overall enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful location convenient to Acadia and Bass Harbor Light but quiet and away from crowded Bar Harbor. Owner was very nice, easy to communicate with, checked-in to make sure everything was satisfactory, and shared great information and recommendations for the area ahead of arrival. The bicycles and kayaks with the VRBO provided added adventure we wouldn't have otherwise gotten to enjoy.
The property was ideal for our needs. Wonderful location close to Bass Harbor Marsh where we put in our two person canoe and lovely hiking without the crowds. My wife loved the well appointed kitchen. All in all a lovely property.

Beautiful home and convenient to everything in Acadia National Park
This was a beautiful home in Bass Harbor! It had all the conveniences of home and was in a quiet area! We enjoyed hiking in Acadia National Park and it was just a short drive to Bar Harbor and other areas! It was the perfect place to get to everything and very cozy and romantic, as well. And, the owners were very helpful at suggestions for everything!! Highly recommend this house and area of Maine!
We so enjoyed the cottage and the location which is close to the water. The patio makes it private and serene. We had all the comforts of home and Leslie prepared us for the area well. Thank you.
The cottage was amazing! Lovely, clean and completely comfortable. Leslie was a wonderful host: excellent communication and so many tips about the area and activities. The sunsets, as Leslie said, were magnificent. Will hopefully be able to stay longer, next visit. Thank you for perfect, A++ accomadations.
My two friends and I loved our stay in Leslie's home. The house is a mile away from the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and about 30 minutes away from top Acadia locations like Jordan Pond and the Precipice Trail, as well as Bar Harbor.
The house was super clean and comfy, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials we needed to cook for the 3 days we were there. Also enjoyed the patio at night to look at the stars! If we come back to Maine, we will definitely be staying here again.
A perfect cottage for two. Cute private garden. Clean, cosy, fully stocked with everything we needed. (Even had a white noise machine for sleeping) Quiet side of Mt. Desert Island. Had a bit of miscommunication about checking in, but neighbors helped us find cottage.

Great place to stay near Bar Harbor.
We really enjoyed our stay in Bass Harbor. The unit was very well furnished with everything we needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed the beautiful garden outside our door. It was a pleasure to enjoy our morning coffee and afternoon wine in the garden. I can’t think of anything we would have changed. Leslie is a great host and communicated with us throughout the process. The apartment is located on the quiet side of Acadia National Park, away from the bustle of Bar Harbor, but still within easy driving distance to all the park and Bar Harbor have to offer. We highly recommend staying here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights in the Bass Harbor Cottage. It was perfect for two adults. The bedroom and sitting room were very comfortable and cozy. The kitchen had all you would need to prepare meals and a nice eating area or there were even TV trays upstairs in the sitting room. We enjoyed relaxing each evening after dinner with a DVD from the great selection provided. Our host, Leslie, gave us wonderful tips on places to eat, shop, and things to do. The drive to Acadia's main loop was easy and beautiful. Passing through the little towns was fun. Although we may not have been in the center of the hustle and bustle, we could easily drive to BarHarbor of other spots. Absolutely enjoyed our stay.
We were in Maine for an interment during the pandemic and Leslie was very accommodating to our specific dates. She assured me of the cleanliness that the cleaners practiced and wanted to make sure we were tested beforehand.
After hectic but good family times it felt like home to come back to the cottage. We absolutely loved sitting outside in the lovely garden with our morning coffee watching the birds at the feeders.
The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great.
Thank you Leslie for making us feel like we were coming home.

Lovely cottage in a charming area
We loved our stay at the cottage. It was spacious for two people and well cared for. The gardens were beautiful to gaze at and it has the best equipped kitchen I have ever stayed in! I love to cook so it was both used and appreciated.
Leslie was helpful in preparing us for what to expect. It is the quiet side yet there was plenty to do within a 10 to 30 minute car drive. We really enjoyed the quirkiness and excellent cold beer at Nemo's which is a five minute walk away. Thurston's lobster pound was another frequent stop to pick up live lobsters and watch the lobster boats in action in the harbor.
I look forward to returning.

Acadia is our favorite place to be. When we purchased the property, it wasn't so pretty, and we have spent years doing construction and gardening. After much hard work it is a pretty and comfortable cottage. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
we purchased this property, as we knew it had potential for a great little cottage one house in from the water.
What makes this property unique
You will be on the "Quiet Side", away from the crowds in Bar Harbor, but still very near many hikes which are part of Acadia, but are located on our side of the island. We are also only 3 miles from Echo Lake.
