Due to a severe family injury, we were unfortunately stuck out of town for months dealing with physical therapy from March through Oct…and with this said, we were unable to do our typical Spring cleaning in May. So the cabin did need to be Spring cleaned especially due to wood burning fireplaces in winter time which creates dust. However, we did get back and did all Spring Cleanings the week of Sept. 26, 2022 and the week of Oct. 3, 2022. So all decks, outside furniture, windows inside and out, all floors, walls, décor, furniture, everything in all cabins have been thoroughly Spring cleaned and outside hot tubs and steps, pressured washed, etc. All pots/pans, flatware, plates, cups, wineglasses have been washed and some replaced, all cabinets, cupboards, drawers, etc. have been thoroughly cleaned and wiped out, etc. Cabin is in tip top shape now. However, some of these complaints were just so ridiculous and piling on for self-significance I suppose. I feel it is necessary for future guests to know the full truth…
Common Sense is key to most of these so-called complaints…I feel compelled and that it is necessary for me to address these ridiculous (no common sense) complaints as follows:
1) The large windows along the river side of living room have a wooden support which indicates the doors are not to be opened (PLUS THEY ARE LOCKED) for a reason!!! It’s dangerous to open them and walk out. They do not have screens for that reason and we do not want to obstruct the wonderful view. There’s no deck out there either which creates great river views. The deck off to the right side of living room is huge and is directly on the river. (So complaint about glass doors on river is erroneous).
2) There’s no “house cat”…only an outside cabin kitty who has her own house with heater. She never bothers anyone. (So complaint about house cat is erroneous) plus she was told about cabin outside kitty before confirming her reservation and she was fine with it.
3) Again, one must have common sense to know how to slide a sliding screen door which worked fine (providing you have common sense)! Also is one of TWO doors in livingroom with sliding screens.
4) Again, common sense, keep doors closed in Fall on river if you don’t want to attract flies or mice. She must have left doors open for hours.
5) The AC is new and was very expensive and bought in mid summer (maybe she needed to clean her dirty glasses to see that there was NO MOLD)
6) The cabin did need more salad bowls and large bowls which we added but the silverware was clean, not dirty as this lady would have you think, plus we replaced silverware with all new in Oct.
7) The towels hooks are just inside bedroom from bathroom.
8) Not sure how many people need to shower on Broadway but this bathroom has 4 lights, (one ceiling light and 3 above bathroom sink which are directly across from shower). There are three windows in bathroom and 2 doors. (Absurd compliant!)
9) Again, Common Sense is necessary, one needs to know how to turn shower on and off if you want the water to work. It has plenty of pressure.
10) You can watch the TV from the couch, loveseat and if you absolutely need to turn the second love seat around to watch TV, it is Very Simple (again COMMON SENSE)
11) Finally this person was specifically told that we are still waiting for broadband to our area so all that we have by way of internet is a hot spot device (which she was told…IS NOT RELIABLE and she was fine with that). The county gave small businesses like ourselves, hot spot devices, until we get broadband down our road.
This guest has racked up a plethora of BS complaints which are absolutely untrue, and I would absolutely not rent to this woman again. Granted the cabin needed Spring cleaned, but the rest of this self-absorbed BS is just that. Landlords beware!
