About this property
Quiet, comfy guest quarters just three miles from Freeport! And only one unit!
The Freeport area has much to offer: shopping, parks, great restaurants, and a vibrant craft beer community. Within 90 minutes of here you will find beaches, parks, scenic towns like Boothbay Harbor and Wiscasset, and of course the city of Portland and the Casco Bay islands. Museums? The Portland Museum of Art is world-renowned. As is the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay. And there is the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Peary Arctic Museum in Brunswick. Whatever brings you to the area, the Turkey Ridge Guest Quarters is your perfect home base.
The quarters are built in a daylight basement, with tiled floors and lots of pine accents. There is a queen bedroom, a large living area with seating and TV, and a full bath. The quarters are private from the rest of the owner-occupied house, and there is a private entrance. This is the "woodsy" side of a house that sits on 8.5 wooded acres just a few miles from Freeport, Maine. Lots of birds and lots of nature. There's a small outdoor seating area. There is no kitchen, but there is a coffeemaker, microwave, and a small refrigerator.
Free secure high-speed Wifi, smart TV with Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. We have a whole-house standby generator. In addition to the queen bed, we have a fold-out single bed for an older child.
Guests remark on how peaceful and quiet it is here. There are no other guests, and we make very little noise ourselves (no mowing until you are gone for the day!). We travel a lot ourselves, so we know what travelers appreciate.
Access is limited to the guest quarters and adjacent yard. There is no smoking anywhere on the property.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Extremely clean, nice and quiet and comfortable basement apartment. Nested out away from the towns with easy access to the highway. If in the area again we would stay again.
Super clean, we were able to go in a few minutes early no problem! Very comfortable bed, with extra blankets as well! We stayed here the night before and the night of our wedding and it was exactly what we needed.

Thanks, Nancy. We've stayed in a lot of motels and hotels, and our goal here is to create a place that is quiet first of all, and comfortable. Glad you enjoyed it.

You were great guests. We're so glad you enjoyed your visit.
We had a wonderful stay here. It was beautiful and quiet which was perfect for our visit. This was first time in maine so it was a treat to be surrounded by the beautiful greenery!
Larger place than I envisioned -- comfortable and relaxing. Nice outdoor space with plants. Be careful on GPS as it is close to Freeport (4.5miles) but sometimes wants to take the long way.
Stayed here while taking in the sites throughout the area. Rental was neat and clean, comfortable accommodations. Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
These guest quarters had everything we needed for a peaceful, relaxing “home base” while we explored the beautiful area. The space was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. Loved the woodwork and artwork throughout as it gave the space such a warm, inviting feel. The host’s guidebook was full of thoughtful, local recommendations. We especially liked Doherty’s North Freeport Store just down the road, the owner was a lot of fun to chat with and the food was great. Maine Beer Company was also a favorite of ours. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation!
Oh my God, I can’t say enough about this place so quaint, clean and would definitely stay again and plan on doing so !!!!hostess was so quick with answers and responses Close to everything❤️❤️

Glad you enjoyed it, Geoffrey. I would have been happy to help you with the heaters. We want our southern guests to be warm! I'm going to review the instructions and see if I can improve them.
Thank you for having us! Your apartment is wonderful and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this location and these owners.
Easy of access, perfect location, beautiful night sky, incredibly clean: all things that made this the best spot for a quick weekend away from the city. Thank you so much to the hosts for opening your home.
Our second stay at this “top notch” property with the Host worthy of the highest rating. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found these accommodations.

About the host

Hi, that's us on one of our trips (the Dominican Republic in this case). We love to travel, so we know what travelers need and the touches they appreciate. I'm retired and Kim works from home, and we love sharing our special location.
Why they chose this property
We built here 23 years ago because it was a beautiful 8 1/2 acres of woodland, and convenient to Portland, Brunswick, Lewiston, even Augusta (just 45 minutes).
What makes this property unique
I built the guest quarters to offer people a comfortable, friendly place to stay. I indulged my love of v-groove pine, and whitewashed it to keep the space bright.
