Entire Duplex apartment in Old Louisville! This 110+ year old beauty has a private entrance. This property is freshly renovated. The apartment has two bedrooms, brand new Kitchen and a living room with Wifi, Netflix, Hulu and HBO Provided. They don't make houses like these anymore with quarter sawn oak flooring and 100 year old trim. 10 minutes from Downtown, Nulu, Bardstown Road.
This is a sunny, apartment has no shortage of natural light (7 foot tall windows throughout). It is a quick jaunt to pretty much anywhere in the city. It is located in Old Louisville, which is the second largest Victorian neighborhood in the country and has the best architecture in the City (in my opinion). I highly recommend you try as many restaurants as possible (trust me, we have some great food here). It's a comfy, livable duplex currently being updated by us (we actually live here, so you aren't dealing with some impersonal investment group)...
The 120 year old hardwood floors have been refinished within the last couple months for an absolutely beautiful look. The granite countertops practically still have the plastic on them! The walls are freshly painted and the relaxing reading nook is just built!

Matt was an excellent host and his apartment was wonderful! It was very clean upon arrival and is super spacious. The location was also great for getting around the city quickly!
We were very satisfied with the property, parking was convenient, good location, plenty of supplies. Only suggestion would be an additional inside security feature for the front door, i.e. security chain or additional deadbolt.
Beautiful accommodations. Very neat and clean. Location is convenient and the property is exactly as described. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
The entry door showed signs of having had a forced entry at some point. Part of the door and door jamb where missing and left about a 1"x2.5" hole / gap. The existing deadbolt / lock was secure but there was certainly a feeling that we were not in a safe space. The curtain rod and curtain in the bathroom had fallen onto the toilet and we so we put it back in place. On the plus side the old wood floors, doors, windows, trim work and brick work were beautiful. despite being next to the interstate it was a quite neighborhood and the local bar / restaurant "Hauk's" was a lot of fun.
We loved staying in this historic property. It was quiet and conveniently located near the interstate. We were provided everything we needed and it was clean. My son loved that there was a piano in the guest room. The host provided so much information and was very attentive. The neighborhood might look a little “sketch” when you first pull up, but it’s just old. We didn’t have a single problem while we were there, and it was very quiet. We hardly heard the interstate noise except for when it got busy and you could only hear it from the living room window. The guest/kids’ bedroom conveniently has blackout curtains too, which is very thoughtful!
I absolutely adored this house. I love older houses, and this one did not disappoint. The house is immaculate and has everything that you need! The host provided valuable resources to local restaurants, attractions and such. As a couple of people mentioned, this is in a high noise area. I was still able to sleep undisturbed. With that said, I would still return to this location. We were able to Uber with ease to 4th Street Live and NuLu. Parking was easy on the street. The street was not crowded at all, and we rarely saw anyone in the neighborhood. I do suggest this place if you are looking for a comfortable and inexpensive stay.
Clean and comfortable property that the owners have lovingly restored. I wish my granddaughter was with us because she would have loved the reading nook.
We enjoyed our night at this house, the beds were very comfortable and the house itself was very charming. Our daughter loved the nook under the stairs the most!
Great location— easy to get to all of the places we wanted to visit and parking was never an issue. Matt was very responsive to the few needs we had. 2 thoughts to make this place even better— update the shower curtain to fully wrap around and update the mirror in the bathroom to one that has the built in lighting (easy Amazon purchase). Super cute property! Thanks for having us!
Yes!! It was amazing how well equipt the kitchen was. We brought our food and thought they would have a microwave. When we got there i found they had a complete kitchen. Sooo nice.
Fantastic host, everything went very smoothly and the accommodations were beautiful. Matt provided many useful suggestions to help us navigate Louisville. The location was on the doorstep of the beautiful historic area. We would definitely recommend for anyone to stay here. Thanks Matt!

About the host
Hosted by Matthew Kustes
My name is Matt, ever since I was in highschool I enjoyed doing things with my hands. So, when I had the opportunity I took on this project to renovate this house. I really enjoy trying to transform things. Additionally, I love good food and try to always find time to get away whenever possible. My favorite place is a nice lake on a sunny day after a week of fulfilling work.
