About this property
K-9 Heaven, Where Dogs R King
Welcome to your own cozy hideaway on a beautiful working horse farm, where sweeping views and fresh country air greet you every morning! This charming tiny home is exactly what it sounds like — small in size but big on comfort. At 256 square feet, it's a perfect example of how a little space can feel just right. Curl up in the charming claw-foot tub after a day of exploring, whip up something delicious on the stovetop, and enjoy fast, reliable Wi-Fi so you can relax or stay connected, whatever you're in the mood for. You'll love the sense of freedom here — your own private entrance and driveway mean your stay is completely your own, while the host's nearby presence means friendly help is always just a wave away. And if you're traveling with a furry friend, get ready for tails to wag: there's plenty of open space for dogs to run and play off-leash to their heart's content. You might even make a new friend of your own — there's a good-natured farm dog always up for a visit! You couldn't ask for a better home base: about 20 minutes from one of Culpeper's top-rated restaurants for a well-earned treat, and roughly 25 minutes from a trailhead into Shenandoah National Park for a day of adventure in the great outdoors. What I love most about this place is how peaceful it feels — waking up to horses grazing in the pasture and a wide-open sky never gets old, and it's a little slice of quiet country life I'm always thrilled to share with guests. Past guests consistently rave about how peaceful and private the stay feels, and dog owners especially love having so much room for their pups to roam free and happy. Culpeper County is Virginia horse-and-hunt country at its warm, welcoming best — rolling pastures, quiet backroads, and a slower pace that makes it easy to unwind. Just a short drive away, the town of Culpeper offers a charming, historic downtown with friendly local shops. It's the kind of place where neighbors wave from their porches and the biggest traffic jam you'll hit is a tractor rolling down the road!

Larry's cabin truly was K-9 heaven! Never seen our dog so happy, running around in the fields. The cabin was utterly spotless and Larry was the most gracious host. He gave us a warm welcome, and also gave us all the privacy we could ask for to soak up our little vacation.
Loved our stay! The hubs and I checked in with our 3 large dogs for a short weekend BabyMoon getaway. The host was wonderful, made sure we had everything we needed and even prepped a fire for us while we were off at a hike one night. Drove into Culpeper and checked out Beer Dog, a local dog friendly brewery and we all enjoyed that immensely (They even had virgin sangria for me!). Highly recommend! Gorgeous Farmland!
Great, unique place for dog owners. My dog is afraid of cars and city noises, and she had the best weekend of her life in the farm. She played non-stop. Waking up to the view of the farm and horses was amazing. The cabin is small but cute and has all necessities. The only minor negative thing is that the website makes it seem like the cabin is isolated but in fact it is next to the owner house. However, that was not an issue for us. The cabin, patio, and fireplace felt private anyway. I would definitely recommend it and hopefully stay there again.
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Mountain Field Farm. The land was beautiful and the stars were sparkling on the clear nights. The studio home was so cozy and warm. We took baths after a long hike, sat on the porch and relaxed as much as possible. Larry was super kind and generous, answering my questions and providing a truly wonderful weekend home. He even let us check-out late because I needed to be at the computer for work (wifi was great!) and even offered us to stay an extra night free. Unfortunately, we couldn't, but it was such a kind offer.
We brought our anxious pup with us and although the horses scared her at first, she adjusted and we were able to spend hours outside basking in the sunshine. I got to feed a few of the horses and they were so gentle.
We can't wait to go back! Thank you, Larry!
My wife and I had a great time at the cabin, Larry had everything we needed onsite and the location was great. Our dog loved the property as he was able to run around and socialize with the farm dog Oreo.

Lovely couple I look forward to seeing them again soon
This trip was only for 2 days, but it was so worth it. Larry (the host) is a great guy, friendly, chatty, and very helpful. The cabin is cozy and rustic & included a number of amenities. I brought my little dog, Molly, with me, and she enjoyed running around the wide open space. There were some horses on the property. The main reason for the trip was to take advantage of the nice, dark skies for telescopic views. As a backyard astronomer, I was impressed. Stars galore - my educated guess is Bortle 3 conditions, NELM about 6. Light pollution was only an issue within about 10-15 degrees of the horizon in all directions. Constellations easy to identify. Deep sky objects easy to find. Observed galaxies M51, M101, M81, M82, M61; globular M13; ring nebula M57; Orion Nebula; Crab Nebula; carbon star R-Leporis; open clusters M35, M37, and M44, and more. Temps fell from mid-upper 40's near sunset through 30's to mid-upper 20's by sunrise. Dew points about 20F. Discerning galaxy structure not easy, perhaps due to mediocre seeing (jet stream nearby) and/or higher moisture content. With steadier seeing/drier air, I have no doubt it would have been more than enough to view H II regions in M33 and M101. Used an Orion 12" f/5 truss-tube dob. And yes, you can set up the scope right on the elevated outside deck, attached to the cabin, with unobstructed views to the south and west; somewhat restricted to the east and north. And when the cold got to be too much, I simply stepped inside the warm cabin for a break! For those in the DC area, definitely consider this location. It is 85 miles from where I live in Alexandria. Spruce Knob is 170 miles from my house, and Cherry Springs, PA, is about 275 miles. The cabin location in Reva, VA, in Rappahanock County, has competitive skies with these other locations, and is also much closer to home. Hope to go again in June and September. It's a wonderful place to take a vacation and get away from it all. Thanks Larry!
The property had everything we needed plus amazing views and vast acreage for dogs to run. Our host, Larry, provided an amazing welcome and was super helpful with hiking and winery suggestions. If you ever wondered what K-9 Heaven is like, this is the place.

The most wonderful guest I have had in a long time
We had an amazing time staying here in Reva. Such a cute, tiny farm town was a nice quiet and calm getaway from our hustle bustle suburban life! We LOVED Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville (went twice!) and enjoyed some of the other cute places in Sperryville. We hit Culpepper on the way home for some coffee. Over the weekend we went Canoeing through the Shenandoah River and hiked White Oak Falls. Such a cute and fun atmosphere. Waking up on the farm and giving some treats to the horses and cooking outside was such a dream.
This place may be tiny, but it has everything! We overpacked because we weren't sure what we would need to bring. He has spices, salt, pepper, coffee, etc. all of the little things!
We very much enjoyed our two-nights stay at Larry's place. The cabin is practical and cute. The farm partly sits on a hilltop, with an adjacent short trail that also belongs to Larry's property. Check-in was easy, and Larry was flexible about the departure time. We look forward to returning sometime soon!
We enjoyed our stay at Larry’s place! We loved the location and the views! Cool hiking trail right on the property. We had a fire and wood was provided. Super comfortable bed! Loved the bathtub! Super quaint and cozy cabin. My husband was looking forward to the wood stove which was advertised but not ready so that was disappointing. Otherwise a great stay and we would go back!
We had a wonderful experience staying at Mountain View Farm. The place was clean and the farm location offered a variety of activities in close vicinity. Old Rag was just 25 minutes away and there were multiple breweries and wineries within just a few miles. Larry is a local expert and fantastic host. He makes sure to check in with guests frequently. Our puppy had a great time meeting the horses and playing with the two friendly farm dogs. I recommend a getaway to this oasis!
Host is right next door for any questions or needs.
Located, on a gravel road, the location is truly quiet AND dark at night, a rarity that is hard to come by, without intrusions from unnecessary dusk-to-dawn lighting that has become ubiquitous in even the most remote locations. Great spot for star-gazers and amateur astronomers.
Larry is wonderful. I stayed for 5 days and now feel so refreshed to go back to real world. Hate to leave. No cars, No hussle just good living. A MUST stay if looking to get back to nature. No T.V. never missed it. My city dog became a ranch dog over night. Thanks Larry.

It was wonderful to have you as my guest
About the host
Hosted by Larry
The farm has been in our family since 1860, and I can share some stories that have been passed down through the generations. For instance, there’s the tale of the old man who fell into the spring house and tragically broke his neck.
Why they chose this property
Many guests have mentioned that the pictures simply don’t capture the true beauty of this place. Come and unwind for a peaceful, relaxing getaway! Ladies in particular adore the charming, old-fashioned clawfoot tub. Just remember to bring your favorite wine and some soft music to set the perfect mood. Your cabin is conveniently situated just 20 minutes from downtown Culpeper, Sperryville, and Madison. We highly recommend exploring downtown Culpeper, as some other spots tend to take advantage of tourists.
What makes this property unique
I take great pride in providing people with a welcoming and safe space to gather. You'll discover that this cabin, crafted from rough-cut lumber, exudes rustic charm while also showcasing a touch of elegance. I wanted to share a little bit about our beautiful country setting! Yes, living here means we occasionally see some bugs, but don’t worry! I’ve put in a lot of effort to keep your cabin comfortable and bug-free, though sometimes a little visitor might sneak in. I assure you, you're in good hands—my two cats and a friendly border collie are always on Bug Patrol!
If you encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to call me. As noted in the house rules, texting isn't the best way to reach me.
Getting to your cabin is simple! Could you just follow the signs along the long driveway? The door will be open for you; use the lower knob to enter. You’ll find a cozy wood stove ready for use, perfect for chilly evenings. If you’ve never operated one before, feel free to ask for instructions! Please remember to bring your own wood. I’m excited for you to arrive and hope you have a fantastic stay!
