About this property

Grandma's Mountain Cabin - Up and Running

September 27, 2024, is a day we will never forget here in WNC. Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc to this area of our mountains. Slowly but surely, we are rebuilding.
Grandma's Cabin was miraculously spared and is now up and running.
We do need to let everyone know that the road conditions are rough in some parts. The town of Chimney Rock is closed to the public while being rebuilt, Despite the devastation there is still so much beauty in this area in the land and people.
We ask that you please abide the signs and the workers and support our communities.
Thank you

Step back in time with this rustic mountain cabin yet enjoy all the modern amenities of this 2 br/1 bath fully remodeled gem located on a 6 acre private, peaceful estate.

Hang out with family and friends on the front porch in the rockers or try out the ever relaxing porch swing or grill out on the back porch. Soak away a day of hiking in the spa on the front porch,

As you enter the front door you will be amazed at the attention to detail and thought that went into the design and furnishing to make sure your stay is fun and relaxing. Enjoy the gas fireplace for those chilly nights. Fresh linens and towels are provided and a washer and dryer are on site along with detergents etc.

The decor is just what you would expect to find in the Smoky mountains of Western NC. We also have high speed internet so bring that laptop. There is a desk with ample space for your laptop and basic office supplies.

At night sit by the open firepit and toast marshmallows or hike the many mountain trails when the sun comes up and breathe that fresh mountain air or just relax in the hot tub or pitch a game or horseshoes. Firewood is provided. This estate is a little piece of heaven with natural laurels, rhododendrons and even some hard-to-find wildlife which has been known to visit throughout the year so don't be surprised to see a mama deer with her twin fawns or a wild turkey.

Conveniently located minutes from Chimney Rock State Park ,Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Asheville, and Hendersonville. Very Nice Cabin

This was a very nice cabin and isolated from everyone else. Very private, clean, and it met all the expectations as stated by the guest!

Girls weekend

The property and cabin was just as described. The cabin was very clean. We had all the comforts of home. The trail up to the cemetery was an unexpected find. It was a geat place to ring in my 50th birthday. We will definitely be visiting again. Quiet and peaceful. Hot tub was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked. I would recommend this cabin if you want a nice quiet and peaceful stay away from day to day. I also chose this cabin because of the area. Wanted to give back to community any way possible since the Hurricane. Thank you for a great getaway!

Perfect getaway

This house was perfect for us, our two daughters, and pups. Great location, close enough to the city and activities but secluded enough to enjoy the quiet of the woods.

Wonderful Winter Get away

We had a wonderful stay in Grandma's cabin, it was cozy and warm despite the frigid temperatures! Near Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.. and an easy drive into Asheville. Owner was responsive and very friendly! I would stay here again for sure!

Grandma’s Cabin

This cabin is very nice. It was perfect for mine and my husband’s 39th anniversary! It was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve ever had. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful porch. Wish it would have been a little bit cooler and less rain, but it was still nice. We would rent this cabin if coming back to the area! The Hultin’s!

Wonderful getaway

We have gone several times to the area and decided to take our first ski trip. We were more than pleased with the accommodations. The property manager responds very promptly, allowed us to extend and upon our request gave suggestions of things we may do in the area. We would stay again.

Cute and cozy

The cabin was very nice! Hot tub was clean, everything was well stocked and comfortable. Wi-fi quality was iffy, which was not surprising due to the location and being satellite. The rainy weather kept us at the cabin more than expected, but when we had a chance to walk the property a bit it was really lovely.

Beautiful property in a beautiful area

Had a fantastic time for our week at Grandma's Cabin. We hiked to over 30 waterfalls in the area. The hot tub was wonderful after our long days of hiking. The Cabin was great. Clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The wifi went out due to a problem with dish network but the cell service was good enough in the area that it didn't pose much of a problem. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Quiet Getaway

We just needed a change of scenery. Fell in love with Hendersonville and the people there. Ended up spending both our full days there. Got coffee and pastry from the bakery and were able to sit comfortably at a table on the street. Enjoyed listening to a man playing guitar at Mike's on Main (305 Main). Met several shop keepers who were delightful. We had a great time and would do it all again!

Quick retreat

We loved our stay at the cabin. Very cute place, was spotless and had a lot of small items there that helped our stay, since we forgot some things. Just look around and chances are what you need is there. They even had tennis balls and food bowls if you had a dog with you. We didnt, but it was a nice touch. Water pressure was great!! Wish mine was as good. Loved the hot tub. We will be back for sure

Nice, but could use a thorough clean and more attention to detail.

Pros: -Pretty spacious for family of 4 -Nice, quiet property -Hot tub and fire pit were great -Light switches labeled (First time staying at VRBO where this has been done and it was helpful.) -Plenty of towels, hand towels, washcloths, etc. ready to go and in plain sight -Plenty of toilet paper, trash bags, etc. -Chlorine left by the door nearest the hot tub and ready to go with easy instructions. -Large shower with plenty of room for toiletries -Lots of lights and big outdoor light -Plenty of outdoor seating on the porch Cons: -Visible dust collected under furniture, on curtains (especially in bedroom to the left with red curtains.), backs of doors (enough dust that I thought it was spiderwebs at first glance), under DVD players, etc. Dust gathered on frames and wall hangings. Enough dust that my 11 and 12 year old kids even noticed it. -Under the beds were dirty and needed to be vacuumed as well as under sofas and other furniture. I dropped a pen and it fell between the sofa cushions. When I lifted the cushion to find it, I was welcomed with more dirt and trash. -Rug left hanging over railing and tablecloth left in dryer when we arrived. -My husband woke up during the night to grab medicine off of the kitchen counter and saw a couple of roaches when he turned on the light. -fingerprints and dirt on INSIDE of windows (Emphasis on inside. No, I don't expect owners to go cleaning the outside of windows every time someone stays, but I do expect the inside of windows and glass on doors to be wiped down.) -sheets very wrinkled -pots and pans could use updating -went through two broken can openers in the drawer before finding one that worked -chipped plates and mugs should be gotten rid of -Since there is no dishwasher, having a scrub brush or sponge would be helpful. -We may have missed it, but we only found one measuring cup. Kitchen could use a full set of measuring cups and spoons. -Dirty dishes in cabinets

A quiet retreat away from the fireworks

My neighborhood is WWIII during the first week of July and my dog gets very angry at the sound so I was looking for somewhere to get away from it all. This was that place. We had a wonderful time hiking Chimney Rock and walking around Asheville. Great location. Close to everything and quiet. Definitely will make it a yearly trip.

Wedding Anniversary Weekend

I decided to take the wife away from the chaotic Charlotte hustle bustle for our 12 year wedding anniversary - and this spot did not disappoint. I had no idea Bat Cave was literally cut off from the outside world after Helene. Having to drive through the town and seeing the remnants of what had happened was heart breaking. We will be praying for the Bat Cave community and will return soon to support the locals!

Family getaway

We loved staying here. Everything was exactly as described and very clean. Although we were well prepared for our stay, we could have come unprepared and unpacked and enjoyed it just as much. The house was generously stocked with everything you could need to stay comfortably. Also, the property is beautiful and quiet. It is quite a trip to the closest grocery store though. We will be staying again.
