This updated home sits at the end of a ranch property with the owner's home nearby. Beautiful views of Grand Mesa and the Adobe Buttes are the backdrop of this serene valley. Watch an occasional horseback rider in the arena outside the front porch, listen to the sounds of Tongue Creek and Surface Creek from the back patio, or enjoy a bonfire under the stars! Feel free to walk the grounds and enjoy the peaceful setting on 70 acres. This 2 bedroom ranch house accommodates 4 adults comfortably with a pull out couch for additional guests. Our "petting zoo" includes chickens, 5 Nigerian Dwarf Goats (who LOVE attention) and a miniature horse named "Johnny Cash". For a small $25 fee, kids under 50lbs can request a 30 minute ride lead by one of the property owners. Parents are encouraged to walk alongside and take some photos! Feel free to walk around and meet anywhere between 18-25 horses at the ranch, spread out over several separate corral spaces. Most of them love the attention and each has a unique story that adds a personal touch to our home in the valley. This is a true Colorado experience for young and old alike.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

This was a great fit for our family. Loved walking around the farm in the morings. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and took care of anything we needed right away. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
Great property - great host. Barb and Dave were great hosts. A very nice/peaceful property - relaxing getaway. Very good experience with the stay - Excellent VRBO
An amazing stay! Barb and David were great with communication and check-in and check-out were easy and simple. Excellent stay - all the amenities, super clean, well stocked, and comfortable stay. Awesome property with friendly farm animals and dog, and close to a decently sized town (Delta). I would highly recommend and would gladly stay here again!
What a joy it was to stay in such a beautiful, relaxing little paradise. It was a quiet and peaceful setting. Very clean and comfortable. Convenient location to Delta, Colorado.
My husband, three children (ages 12, 10, and 8), and I absolutely loved our time spent on the ranch!!! The place was clean and cozy, all accommodations were on point, and the check in process was seamless. David and Barb were helpful and kind, even facilitated our children having a hands on visit with the goats and chickens!!! We will most definitely stay again!
The best of everything. Host went out of there way to answer questions and be supportive, wonderful place for all ages from 80 to 1. Recreational activity near but it is so peaceful you might just sit on the porch, rock in the chair and pet the dog.
This attractive cabin on a working ranch was very comfortable and a good base for out day trips. We loved the very peaceful mornings, as we were both recuperating from schedules that were too tightly packed. A/C in every room, and cool evenings outside.Thank you Thank you!
Our stay at the ranch house was absolutely amazing! We visited the area for a wedding, and we wish we had even more time to stay because the property is so special and has so much to offer! The house is so comfortable, clean, and has a lot of attention to detail. I’ve never stayed in a Airbnb or Vrbo that felt like home and paid this much attention to details. Communication was great and the hosts were so kind. Our baby loved seeing the dogs, horses, and the other animals. What a magical, beautiful place! I highly recommend staying here. We hope to come back and stay here again - we miss it already!
What can I say this property is absolutely beautiful !!! The hosts are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. The animals are very friendly and awesome to see. Annie Oakley the border collie will melt your heart she is so much fun to play with absolutely adorable. We would DEFINITELY love to stay here again
Quiet and at the end of the drive. Nothing missing, everything we needed. Take a bag of mini carrots and wander around visiting the horses, cow, donkeys, goats and chickens. Great place!
Came to visit family in the area...turns out family wanted to visit us on the awsome tounge creek ranch...we brought lots of things we didn't need because its so well equiped...beautiful peaceful getaway for us or anyone and donkeys mules horses dogs very lucky animals there...
This place and the people there are the best we came to Colorado with are two Aussies to pick up a new puppy and there was a fenced in area of the log cabin it was extremely clean and comfortable, they let you walk around the property totally would stay there again
The sole purpose for one of us staying at the ranch was to visit her daughter just a few miles away. The other visitor hoped to visit nearby national parks & Colorado National Monument. We managed both! No more space to write so much more Id like to say!!???
We traveled and stayed at this farm with our dogs. I was there to do work for a couple days. It was so peaceful to come back and have the sound of the creek behind the property and the sounds of the horses and the animals. The stars in the moon are absolutely magic and the property is so well taken care of and every inch you can feel the love in which the property embodies. We were 100% recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Bungalow. It was clean, cozy and well-stocked. The fire-pit was a nice feature on a cold winter night. Barb made the contact-less check-in process easy and was very responsive during our stay. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.
Accommodations - very nice, welcoming and clean. Beautiful setting, relaxing.
Traveled to the area for a family wedding. Central location for visiting points of interest in the area - visited Delta, Ouray, Black Canyon of the Gunnison - North Rim, wineries and orchards.
Prompt response to questions.
Would stay again and would recommend to family and friends.
It was very peaceful, relaxing and a very clean place. The host were great when I had to let them know we had to cut our stay. We will be back!

This property made our trip to CO so fun! We loved the animals and location. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and staples/supplies. Owners are super friendly and responsive. No hot tub as advertised, but we visited Ouray, which was well worth it.
Lovely property. Kitchen is well stocked, great gas grill, comfortable bed & beddings. Had to work a couple of days while there, Wi-Fi went down a few times but never for more than 10-15 minutes. Fabulous birdwatching from the back patio, bring binos!
This is a very quite place. Not to far off the beaten path. Was kid and pet friendly. Very well maintained. Every thing you might have forgotten was thought of and placed to find. Organized notes provided to navigate all things. We made a fast family trip, but they have so much more to explore.

About the host
Hosted by David
David and Barb are owners of Tongue Creek Ranch. Tongue Creek Ranch is a hay and alfalfa farm that also hosts up to 25 horses in various corrals on site. In the late fall and winter you will see cows grazing in the hay fields at this 70 acre ranch. David is a retired firefighter and now manages the property. Barb worked at Douglas County School District for nearly 20 years and is now enjoying her role as hostess of the three on-site VRBO rentals. We welcome you to enjoy the beautiful setting of Tongue Creek Ranch and explore the sights of the Western Slope!
Why they chose this property
Tongue Creek Ranch is a peaceful place to un-wind. We encourage our guests to walk around the 70 acre property as long as they stay clear of livestock and/or feeding any of the animals on site. Visitors may also pet the horses as long as the owners are available or can arrange for someone to be with them. The horse owners welcome you to watch them train whenever they're out and about. Be sure to meet our 5 Nigerian Dwarf Goats and chickens in our little petting zoo. We recently added a miniature horse named "Johnny Cash" which is a favorite for kids! For a small fee, one of the owners will lead children (under 50lbs) around the park area on Johnny Cash, complete with his little saddle and bridle! Just ask the owners if you'd like to go into the pens to meet them and get some great photos!
What makes this property unique
The Western Slope is a unique location with a wide variety of sites and attractions. Any outdoor enthusiast will love to explore the Grand Mesa (with over 300 lakes) for hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, sledding, fishing or site-seeing. You might also like to visit one of the nearby national parks (the Black Canyon of the Gunnison or the Colorado National Monument). Mountain Bike trails abound in this area including the "Palisade Plunge" which begins at the top of the Grand Mesa National Forest for 32 miles of downhill single-track, adrenaline-pumping action. This is a 6,000 foot descent through pristine public lands that end in Palisade. You'll want a glass of wine after that! There are also many quaint mountain towns such as Paonia, Ridgeway and Ouray that offer unique shopping, dinning, wineries, breweries, hot springs, art classes and museums. Telluride is a 2-hour trip south and is an iconic mountain town with world-class skiing, hiking and fishing. Many guests have also ventured 2 1/2 hours to Moab for some more great sight-seeing and adventures. Stay with us and choose your path for a great get-away!
